Birthday Bash at Bugaboo Day 6

Today's challenge for the 10th Annual Bugaboo Birthday Bash
is a color challenge.
Bugaboo generously posted a free digi image a couple days ago and I decided to use it on today's card.

You always finds cats down on the farm.
Although, they are usually catching the mice.

Birthday Bash at Bugaboo Day 5

I'm so happy I had the time today to catch up on the challenges at Bugaboo's 10th Annual Birthday Bash.
Hopefully, my card tickles someone's funny bone at Bugaboo because the challenge is to make them laugh.

Birthday Bash at Bugaboo Day 4

Day 4's Challenge at Bugaboo's 10th Annual Birthday Bash uses a Bingo (three in a row) grid.
Projects are still reflecting a Down on the Farm theme.

I decided to use the center column: texture, Bugaboo image, and stitching.

Birthday Bash at Bugaboo Day 3

is already on Day 5.

I'm still on Day 3, an ABC Challenge, Anything But a Card.

For today's Down on the Farm Birthday event, I've made a Thank You which could easily be placed in a cupcake or stick out of a take home goodie bag.

I printed the Bugaboo digi on glitter paper before coloring.
Then I die cut it, glued it to the designer die cut, adhered the straw to the back and the banners to the side, and then added another designer die cut to the back to cover the ends.

Day 4 is a Bingo Challenge.
Back to the craft table for me!

Birthday Bash at Bugaboo Day 2

I have been so busy making Heart Cards for Cards for Little Hearts that I almost missed Bugaboo's 10th Annual Birthday Bash!
This card follows the Sketch Challenge for Day Two,
with a 90 degree flip of the sketch to the right.

Send a Smile 4 Kids January 2020 Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at
Send a Smile 4 Kids!

The January theme is
Valentines or Love Cards 4 Kids
or Anything Goes 4 Kids .

Here's my design team card...

I fell in love with this paper the first time I saw it in my Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.  It's called Happy Days by The Paper Boutique.  I found it online at CraftStash in England.  Since I am in the US, I didn't want to pay more for shipping than for the paper, so I put it in my cart and waited.  Thanksgiving weekend they had free shipping.  Yippee!
It arrived the day before Christmas.

Most of my cards go to a SAS4K volunteer who sends them on to a children's hospital for patient use.  (But I think I'll save this one for one of my greatgranddaughters.)
If you are interested in making and donating cards to SAS4K, you can find all the information you need right here.
 I hope you'll enter this month's SAS4K Challenge.
We love to see your wonderful creations and visit your blogs.

Happy 1st Birthday

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe that my great granddaughter,
Lahna, will be one in a few days.
Here's the birthday card I'm sending her:

The papers are from a new paper pack from The Paper Boutique called Wild and Wonderful.
The animals in the pack are adorable.
I found a diagram of a card base in the shape of a number '1', which I followed.  Before cutting the indented area on the right, I die cut the word 'one' along the edge.  I traced the card base shape onto patterned paper and then cut within the line 1/8" all around.  I stamped a small banner across the upper corner before it was embossed and then attached to the base.  The koala was a circular embellishment that came with the paper.  I fussy cut and then popped it onto the base.  The die cut 'Happy Birthday' was added next.  The flowers around the koala received a bit of shine with a Wink of Stella brush.  And finally, I added liquid glass to the koala's nose and eyes, the dot over the 'i' in Birthday, and the center of three of the flowers.

Here's a recent picture of my little cutie.

Another teenager in the family

My grandson, Matthew, turned 13 yesterday.
Right now I have 4 grandsons in their teens.
Having a conversation with any of them is like pulling teeth.
I did get a smile when Matt opened his card.

Belated Birthday Sloth

First, I must apologize to my regular blog visitors for my unplanned brief hiatus from blogging.
I had a little mishap, while sharpening my carving knife, which required a few stitches in my thumb.  Ouch!  I'd say it was sharp!
That kind of limited my crafting.
Not to mention the fact that I had to turn my craft table back to a dining room table for Thanksgiving dinner.
Dinner is over and so are the leftovers.
The stitches are out and I'm back to cardmaking.

My sister-in-law's birthday came and went, giving me the perfect excuse to use this adorable sloth from Mo's Pencil
and a new die I recently purchased.
You might think I sent her card late on purpose.  Hmmm...

Drafty here

I'm glad this penguin, a digi image by Connie Fong, is all bundled up because it has been in my draft folder.

Did you know that if you are writing a post and do not hit the orange Publish button when you are finished, the blog post is saved in your draft folder?
I thought I had published this card, which was to be my entry in the Double Trouble Challenge #42, and in reality I never did.
Senior Moment!
It's too late for that challenge but it will be perfect for the following challenges:
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Animals (The pretty white lacey layer was die cut on my Cuttlebug.)
Crafty Catz Challenge #484 - AG with option of spots and/or stripes
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - Christmas/Winter

Way Behind at Beccy's Place

Finding time to make a daily Christmas card for Beccy's Place November Holiday Card Challenge has been a little hard this year.  Consequently, I am way behind.  It's an alphabetical challenge but I'm skipping around.  Here's a card using a colored digital image (by Beccy) of an "I"ce skate inside a die cut frame.

Double Trouble Challenge #43 Card 2

Somehow I missed making a card for DTC #42.
Therefore, I've made a second card for DTC #43.
It has glitter, and a snowman and is also entered at
The digi image is from Beccy's Place
and the sentiment is a CTMH stamp.

Additional challenges I am entering:
As You Like It Challenge - Favorite way to add snow and why (I like the glitter brushes to add snow because it's a no mess way to get the glittery look.  This snowman has a good coating of clear Wink of Stella.  I also like to use glitter paper for die cut snowflakes.  I have a teeny die that made the 1/2" flakes on this card.  It's perfect to use on teeny glitter paper scraps.)
Crafty Catz Challenge #484 - AG with optional stripes (scarf) and spots (on the poinsettias)
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #465 - AG Christmas with option of something beginning with an "R"  (Red
Beccy's Place November Holiday Cards Challenge - "S" for snowman. snowflakes, scarf, spotted poinsettias

Double Trouble Challenge # 43

Bling, Glitz, Glitter, a Snowman and Cupcake Inspiration.
This card has all that.
And it's my entry for the Double Trouble Challenge #43.
It's also the first chance I've gotten to make a card for Beccy's Place November Challenge.   This is for the letter "o" challenge, Day 17.  I've perched a snowy white owl on the sentiment banner.

More Challenges:

Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - Christmas/Winter
613 Avenue Create Challenge #227 - AG, option- Scrap Your Stash (Other than the card base, everything else on the card was made with scraps.)
