CTMH Card Class 8/28/12

While my weekly card making buddies were making their cards yesterday afternoon, I was enjoying the movie "Ice Age-Continental Drift" with my grandson.  Luckily Joyce also has an evening class too.  I tweaked a couple of the cards when I got home to cover up little mistakes I had made in class (probably because I was trying very hard to work without sticking out my tongue, a habit I have which Joyce found particularly amusing last evening).

This last photo is the inside of the card above it, cut using the new CTMH cricut cartridge.  And the stamps used are from a special double set of CTMH stamps available for only $5 if you purchase $35 in other products.  Check it out on Joyce's web site:  http://joyce.ctmh.com/

Pocket Card

Made this birthday card so I could tuck a tiny gift in the pocket.

Mojo Monday 256

I made this card for the Mojo Monday Challenge 256 (http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2012/08/mojo-monday-256.html) and for a bridal shower I'm going to in September.
When I had the gift wrapped at Bed, Bath & Beyond yesterday, the sales girl trimmed the ends of the ribbon and was about to throw it away.  Now it's on a card. and will match the package.

How cute is this?

Just a quick post to show off the adorable cupcake card I made on Saturday at Joyce's.  I'm hoping she'll make this one of our make and takes at the Stamp Scrap Art Tour  in Westminster, MD Sept. 8th & 9th.  Here's the info on the show.  http://www.stampscraparttour.com/infopage.asp?id=18
Stop by  the Close to My Heart Booth and say hi to Joyce, Betty and me.  Maybe you can make one of these.........

Comfort Cards

Sometimes you just have to make a few comfort cards.  Sometimes it's the only thing you can do.  And sometimes sharing a bit of yourself with someone else makes all the difference.

The first card I made as a make and take at my friend Joyce's Close to My Heart Open House today.
And the second card is a sympathy card I made for a member of my stamping family.

Beautiful Bags and Cards Made by Ann B.

My sister-in-law makes the most beautiful cards, gift bags, boxes and ornaments.  While visiting her, she took us to the shop where she sells her things.  If  you are near Bayhead, NJ you might want to check out how talented she is.

Mini Gift Bag

We just returned from an overnight visit with my husband's sister and her hubby.  I made this little gift bag for her, tucked a little surprise in it, and left it on her nightstand to find after we headed home.  We had such a nice visit.  (The template for the bag is on the new CTMH cricut cartridge.)
I really need help with my photography.  Sorry.

Somehow in between making paper racetracks with my grandsons, I managed to get my Mojo Monday card finished.

My photography isn't the best, I know.  In case you can't see the details, I used a cute mushroom border cuttlebug folder around the card to emboss it, mushroom brads from www.eyeletoutlet.com.  , the cute little hedgehog is a Penny Black stamp, and his flower has just a bit of CTMH stardust Glitz glitter gel.
Now I think we're going for a walk.

Today I finished a dozen notecards I've been working on the last 2 days.  I had a set of scrapbook pages I had gotten in a goodie box from CTMH a few years ago.  (Gee, I wish they would bring those goodie boxes back, loved them!)  I don't do scrapbooks.  So what was I going to do with these layout pages that were already set up for photos?  I chopped those pages right up and voila... coordinating notecards.  I thought I'd take them, in sets of 4, to our family reunion tomorrow for bingo prizes.

Which set would you pick  .....
the flowers set?

the wreath set?

or the hugs and kisses set?

Oh, and I have 3 leftover that aren't completely finished yet.  These are my scrap cards.

My attempt at tidying up my work area today resulted in 3 cards from scraps that had to go somewhere.
Nothing special, but thought I'd share.

Posting 2 challenge cards today- Mojo Monday 253 and SNSSC10.

I finally got around to making my Mojo Monday card.  I hope you like it.  I just love the Pemberly paper by CTMH.

The second challenge card I have to share is for the August Sparkle N Sprinkle Card Challenge SNSSC10.  I used my new Playful Pengies stamp set from SNS.  The images are so cute.  I even added some night sky fuzzy flock to  the little guy before I popped him up on the card.

Now I have a very sparkly dining room (aka Nana's craft room) which needs attention.  But ya gotta love that glitter.  Ya know?

Today I'm posting the 3 cards we made at Joyce's CTMH afternoon class yesterday.  She has some great things coming up, and the new CTMH cricut cartridge in now available, so be sure to check out her blog.  Joyce's Joyful Creations
The card below will be going to my niece for her birthday next week.  She loves purple.
The next card consists of 20 one inch square pieces of patterned paper, edged in chocolate and then glued onto a card front.

Look closely at the intriguing background design of the third card.
Six different patterned papers cut into 1/2 inch squares, randomly glued to card stock, and then dry embossed in the Cuttlebug. Really neat!  Takes a while.... but really neat!

On a personal note.... I am not a trash picker under normal circumstances.  But I make an exception when I'm at Joyce's. She gave me a strip of yellow paper and asked me to punch out a bunch of 1/4" dots for on the purple card above.  What was left was a strip of yellow paper with a bunch of holes punched out of it.  I immediately thought, "that would look good on a card". So I came home and added it to the bottom of this Bee Happy card.  I also happened to be sitting next to her trash can yesterday.  I robbed the border for the next card from that very trash can. I wish I was a little better with my camera because the little car is actually 3 layers and I made a teeny, tiny plastic windshield for it, cut from a packet of brads that was close at hand.

Now I'm off to watch my grandsons for a little while.
Hope you're enjoying my blog so far.
