Today's Heart 2 Heart Challenge called for neutrals, so I pulled out my Silhouette paper and made this:

Heart 2 Heart Challenge # 3
Spent today listening to the wind and making cards. Here's one I made for the 10/22 Heart 2 Heart Challenge
Heart 2 Heart Challenge # 1
Today's weather gave me a chance to catch up on October's Heart 2 Heart Challenges.
This card is for the October 8th challenge - Birthday's by the Number.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge # 2
I know just who will be receiving this fancy fold star card, my entry for Heart 2 Heart's Christmas Part 2 Challenge.
Not even a hurricane .....
It's windy and rainy and just plain nasty here. But Mojo Monday adds a bright spot to the day. Here is my entry for this week.
I'm really not one for square cards but I'm thinking I might use this for the front of a gift bag. Kind of hard to get a good picture today (thanks to Hurricane Sandy). The snowflake really does match the teal ornaments on the paper. Looks like it is going to be a good day to play with paper, and glitter, and ribbon, and ink, and.............

Did I ever tell you....
Did I ever tell you....
that I love iris folding? If not, I love iris folding. I found a pattern for an iris folded santa ornament and immediately knew that the pine cone swag in a new SparkleNSprinkle set would be a perfect compliment. The mailman brought my new Holiday Foliage set on Friday. I definitely have plans for this set!!!!But the first order of business was this Santa card:
I used some SparkleNSprinkle goldenrod velvet glitter and tear-ific tape to make the top of the ornament and snow white flock on his hat. I also used a swirled embossing folder to give curls to his beard but you can barely see it in the picture.
I think I'll enter this in the Paper Playtime challenge this week since Anything Goes this week.

I wanted to enter the House Mouse

A cup of tea and a card for thee. Now off to my Mom's. It's time to get busy.

Penny Black Challenge
The sketch for the October Penny Black Challenge made me think of this really interesting green plastic ribbon (?) I bought at the show in York. My recent Quick Cards magazine just sent me a packet of free Christmas papers. A friend gave me some die cuts she wasn't using. So a little bit from here, and a little bit from there, and I came up with this card to enter.
I'm also entering this card in the ABC Challenge Z is for Zoo.
CTMH class 10/23/12
Here are the cards we made last evening at Joyce's CTMH class. All the cards used stamps from the October Stamp of the Month set. I've had my eye on this set since the catalog first came out.

Birthdays can be "ruff"
My younger brother's birthday is on Monday. So making his birthday card was on my "To Do" list for today. Thought I'd use the new Abby & Walter's Birthday stamp set from SNS and some paper a friend of mine left on my doorstep a couple weeks ago.
Hope you have a great week-end.
Check back Monday for my Mojo entry.

Surprises
I had a pleasant surprise at the York Scrapbook show. One of my new design team members from Sparkle N Sprinkle, Dawn Bennett, came to meet me. She lives in York but wasn't sure she could make the show. So I was really surprised when she walked up to my make and take table and asked for me. It's always nice to put faces to names. Check out Dawn's blog here: http://dipndotscreations.blogspot.com/ She does some great stuff.
It was nice to meet you, Dawn and your really tall DH.
My second surprise today was going to the Art Gallery at Sparkle N Sprinkle and seeing my cards and instructions posted. Way cool!
And I also have this card from the In-House Challenge
on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog home page.

Burlap Flower and Wedding Favor
I wanted to show you the lovely burlap flower Joyce made for me to wear at the show in York.
It is made with the CTMH burlap ribbon which was colored with the new CTMH alcohol markers. I didn't even know you could color burlap with markers.
I didn't forget to post this week's CTMH class cards. It was Joyce's birthday so we met her at Shady Maple Smorgasbord for lunch instead.
The wedding favors Saturday were handmade. Aren't they cute?
Yesterday I was back to making racetracks as my other grandson had the day off from school. Of course, Matthew is a stickler for details and wanted collapsible bleachers and brought along a few Cars cars for in the parking lot.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to post a couple of birthday cards which should go in the mail by Saturday.
Do you think I could somehow collect the dust in my house and use it on cards like flock? Just a thought.

Make & Takes
We had 4 different make and takes at the show in York. Laurie taught the first one, the tee pee card from our Christmas extravaganza
while I went to my nephew's wedding in Pikesville MD. The morning wedding was outside (which was a little worrisome because I had had frost on my windshield) under a gazebo at Grey Stone Mansion. The chairs were set up in a nice sunny area and it warmed up a bit by the time the I do's were said. It was lovely.
When I got back to the show I relieved Laurie and we moved on to our second make & take. It was a totally adorable Santa Card using a scalloped circle card from the CTMH cricut cartridge as the base and CTMH ribbon flowers for Santa's beard. You'll have to check Joyce's blog for a picture, since it's her original design. Everyone loved it.
Sunday's make and takes were a cute purse gift card holder, which I'll post later because I don't have a photo of it right now, and a card from one of our CTMH classes
We changed it a bit by adding some burlap across the card, removing the ribbon knot, switching the banner to the left side of the card and adding some glitter gel on the green.
What a fun time.

Monday Mojo
After a very busy and tiring 3 days in York, PA for the Heirloom Stamping Show my husband was surprised to find me working on my Mojo early this morning. How could I miss Mojo Monday? So here is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday Challenge 263. I used my Sparkle N Sprinkle Playful Pengies stamp set again. And a little touch of SNS Sparkling Snow Glitter on the hat.
While I was working on my Mojo, my grandson was busy at the other end of the table making a dirt bike track.
More about the weekend later.

CTMH Card Class 10/9/12
Yesterday we made a Halloween treat holder,
a Thanksgiving card,
and 2 Christmas cards.
It's off to York PA for the weekend for the Heirloom Stamp and Scrapbook Show .
Thanks for all the comments I received on my last post. I'll let you know next week what Make & Takes we finally made. It's always so hard to decide.
If you can't make it to the show, why not enter the October Challenge at Sparkle N Sprinkle?
and 2 Christmas cards.

So what do you think?
I'm working on a card for make and take for this week-end's show in York, PA. Which card would you rather make? They are basically the same only one is Christmas and the other could be used for multiple occasions.

Wedding Card Box
Today's project was finishing the Wedding Card Box for my nephew's wedding on Saturday. It turned out pretty well.
The butterflies are 2 layers, one white and one clear acetate, both embossed. I love the flowered white embossed paper I found. I added lots of pearls. And the bells are actually tea cup stamps without the handles. I mounted the wedding invitation to the inside of the lid. The front opening can be closed and secured from the inside so after the wedding it can be used as a memory box.
Now I have an empty spot on my table! That won't be there long.

Mojo Monday + 2
Today I made a card for Mojo Monday 262 as well as Great Impressions October Challenge and 52 Card Pickup.
The cute little mouse stamp is from Great Impressions, one of the stamps I selected after winning a blog hop prize last week. I can't wait to use the turkey!

Finishing some cards I started
For some reason, when I start making a card it kind of snowballs into making a bunch of cards.
Do you do this?
I look for just the 'perfect piece of DP' (PPDP) and while searching I find 2 or 3 more that I like. So I pull those out too. Then I cut my selected PPDP to size and notice the scrap would also make a nice card if I flipped it to the pattern on the other side. And I proceed to start card #2. Of course, card #1 isn't finished. Next I pull out a stamp for Card #1 and while searching I find 2 or 3 more that I like and would look good on Card #2 or the extra DP (EDP) I have set aside. So I go back to Card #1, stamp my image and decide I would like it better on a sheet of the EDP. Card # 3 is now started. And so it continues until I have partially made cards covering my table and I can't find my scissors or a free acrylic block or Card #1!!!!
Last week one day my DH suggested I put the extra leaves in the dining room table so I'd have more room. He was serious!
So here are a few of the cards I finished over the weekend.
As you can see, I'm just loving the Playful Pengies Stamp Set from Sparkle N Sprinkle
as well as their great glitters and embossing powders.
Back soon with a few more.
