Tuesday Morning Sketches #598

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches

You would never believe how long it took me to make this relatively simple top fold card.  I wanted to duplicate the postage stamp die cut in the sketch.  Only one problem, I don't have a postage stamp die.  I do have a set of scalloped border dies from Pink and Main.  How hard could it be to make that shape with a border die?  Pretty darn hard! I'm sure I spent well over an hour making that one piece of this card. Next time I see a stamp die on sale, I am buying it!

The Penny Black fussy cut bunny was colored with water color pencils and markers then blended. The sentiment stamp is CTMH, dp is from SU, the large scalloped border is from P&M also, and the embossing folder is by Darice.

I hope you'll have time to play along at

this week.

Outlawz Progressive Challenge March 2021

For the March Outlaws Progressive Challenge, participants in the February Progressive Challenge were given a darling Paper Nest Dolls digital image, Lulu Bee, to use.

I used a stitched rectangle die from ODBD, a Momenta sentiment die, and a Sizzix corner die, with inlaid glitter pieces. The image was colored with markers and watercolor pencils.  The wings have a heavy coating of clear Wink of Stella.

Isn't that bee paper great?  I couldn't resist buying just one sheet even though I have enough paper to last several lifetimes!

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for visiting!

Double Trouble Magic

In sorting through my Easter stash yesterday, I came across a little envelope of gnomes, colored on white glitter paper, and already to pop onto a card.  What a perfectly magical find for the current Double Trouble Challenge #79!

CURRENT CHALLENGE #79 "A Magical Day" - Open Mar 15th - Mar 28th

I've used metal stitched rectangle dies from Our Daily Bread Designs and a word die from Momenta to complete the card, so I've also completed the requirements to enter Challenge #165 at Dies R Us

Hooray For You card

My 7 year old great granddaughter had 2 abscessed teeth pulled earlier this week.  Ouch!  Her mother told me she was so brave, going back into the dentist's office with only the nurse, while her mother remained in the waiting room due to Covid precautions.

Tuesday I visited Violette's in Lakeland and was able to find this fun piece of paper to make Laila a card.

I found the slim line dies by LDRS Creative at Violette's, too.

The curvy die and Hooray for You sentiment are from SU.

The slimline card base and envelope and the stamps inside the little window are from CTMH.

Challenges:

As You Like It Challenge - Favorite way to cut your image ( I enjoy fussy cutting my image.  The popped purple tooth fairy on this card was fussy cut from the patterned paper I used.  I find fussy cutting relaxing.)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - A Bit O Green

Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Use Green (I used the cuttlebug for all the die cutting.)

Through the Craft Room Door Challenge March 9th - AG

Simon Says Monday Challenge - Use something Green

While I'm posting, here's a birthday card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge,

Send A Smile 4 Kids March 2021 Challenge

The theme for the March Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!

is 4 the Boys
or Anything Goes 4 Kids.

What little boy doesn't like dinosaurs? I decided to use an adorable little dino from an Imagine That set of digi stamps to make a birthday card for a boy. The image was colored with markers and fussy cut.
Papers and sentiment are CTMH products.

It would be great if you joined the fun at the
March Challenge.
(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!

Double Trouble Challenge #78

Yesterday I hosted a Zoom meeting with some of my Red Hat sisters in Pennsylvania.  Everyone looked so bundled up in their heavy sweaters and jackets.  It inspired me to make this card for the newest challenge at Double Trouble.

The theme for Double Trouble Challenge #78 is the Wearin' of the Green.  I colored up this party going gator digi stamp from Imagine That! Digi Stamps and paired it with some plaid paper for the challenge.

Sentiment stamp is from Sweet n Sassy stamps.

And I'll be sharing this card at the partner challenge,

Use Your Stuff #417, where the theme is also Plaid/Checks.

Wishing everyone a warm and crafty day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #595

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches

My granddaughter and her husband celebrate their second anniversary at the end of March.  I made this card for them, using CTMH paper and sentiment stamps, a SU rose stamp and leaf stamp, and some gorgeous navy glitter paper.  The rose was stamped in dark blue directly on the patterned paper to comply with the sketch.

I hope you'll have time to play along at

this week.
