Happy Valentine's Day???

This is the second card I made very early this morning, getting a jump start on the Valentine's cards a few of us will be making to send to Operation Write Home today.

I'll be entering this card in the Paper Players Challenge #123.

Just couldn't sleep....

....so I made a couple cards in the middle of the night.

Today I'll be going to Joyce's  (yes, again!)  where a few of us are getting together to make cards for our service men and women to send back to their families at home.  There might be a McDonald's everywhere, but not a Hallmark store.  That's where Operation Write Home comes in.  Don't know what to do with all the challenge cards you make?  Check out their website and keep our troops in mind when making your cards.   And since I couldn't sleep, I got a headstart on today's project - Valentine's cards.

I'll be entering this card in the PaperPlay Week 48 Challenge.
And since everything I used has been in my stash for over 6 months, I'll also enter it in the Oldie But a Goodie Challenge.

CTMH Card Class 11/29/12

Usually we have card class on Tuesday.  This week we had 3 inches of snow on Tuesday and card class on Thursday.
These are the cards Joyce picked for us to make:

For Ann

This is a multifold birthday card I will be sending to my sister-in-law shortly, actually on my way to card class in 20 minutes, since our mailman came 5 hrs early today.  I'm also going to enter it in Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 104.

Wish you could see the itty bitty pearls in the centers of the flowers.

Welcoming Avery

This week's Mojo Monday #269 entry is for Avery, born last week to Sparkle N Sprinkle Design Team Member, Shanna.

I knew Shanna was talented but Avery just has to be the cutest creation on her blog.

Congratulations Shanna and Welcome Avery!

This is a SNS digital stamp, Mermaid Moon Baby Digi075, by Michelle Perkett.  Some Mimosa Sparkle N Soft, a mixture of flock and glitter, makes the moon soft and snuggly.  The banner and star glitter is Sparkle N Sprinkle's Sparkling Snow.

Above and Beyond

Once a month a few of us get together at Joyce's for, what we call, the Above and Beyond Club, where we boldly (sometimes not so boldly) try things above the scope of our normal CTMH card class.  Yesterday we made ornaments/gift toppers.

Somewhere I lost a piece of ribbon from the first ornament, probably in my car or Joyce's driveway.  Not to worry, I know where to get more.
And I think I'll bling the second one up a bit, as soon as I get my craft table back in order.

Tomorrow is Mojo Monday.  See you then!

CTMH Card Class 11/20/12

There are quite a few things I should be doing, but thought I'd take a break to post the cards we made at yesterday's class.  These went together lickety-split because Joyce had all the pieces precut using the CTMH cricut cartridges.  I see Joann's has the Expression 2 on sale today for $179.  It's a very good price but I'm still resisting purchasing one.  Think I should?

Here are my cards.  And I'm so annoyed I stamped the one crooked.  I'll be fixing that before mailing, but for the next couple days my craft room will be assuming it alter-identity - the dining room.

MOJO Monday 268

Kind of threw my mojo entry  together real quickly because my grandson is here today (no school-teacher conferences).  Picked up a $1 pkg of paper at Michael's the other day, so I used that.  Got the doily die cut for my birthday and cut a bunch out of adhesive paper the other day just to try it out, so used one of those with some luau green velvet glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Did some embossing and added a poinsettia brad from CTMH after I added a touch of red to the tips of the leaves.  Put it together and what have you got?  My Mojo entry for this week:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge

If you are looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Wonderland Blog Hop, click here or scroll down to join the fun.

I came across a challenge at Fab 'n' Funky, which is featuring the Doodle Pantry Digital imagesThe only thing required was that you use a bear on your card.  Piece of cake.
Unless...........  your camera malfunctions!!
I won't bore you with all the details.  But it miraculously began working after I took out the memory card and reinserted it.  Go figure???

So here is my entry for the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #147 - Let's See Those Bears.  Hope you like this little fellow.  He's headed to a guy re-cooperating from a 2 wk hospital stay.

Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Wonderland Blog Hop!

If you got here by way of  Karin's blog then you are in the right place.  Otherwise, you might like to start from the beginning at Sparkle N Sprinkle's Blog.  There will be 6 fabulous prizes given to 6 lucky readers.

Debi Brille - Pennsylvania
This is my first blog hop with the Sparkle N Sprinkle design team.   I thought I'd combine a few stamps from the Fill The Jar stamp set with a digi stamp, Snowman with a Heart, (designed by Michelle Perkette and available through SNS) to make this shaker/easel card.  I used some sparkling snow glitter (visible in the lower right corner) to turn the jar into a snow globe

You can find the instructions for making this card and many more in the Sparkle N Sprinkle Gallery.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Don't forget to leave a comment to be eligible for one of the prizes.

I hope you take the time to hop along and view the great cards and projects of my other team members.   From here please hop on over to Shona's blog to see one of her fabulous creations.  Shona had a Winter Wonderland of her own last Thursday, getting 7" of snow in NJ.

Below is a list of everyone participating in the hop in case you get lost along the way.  Good luck and enjoy!

Brenda Smale

Tomorrow, tomorrow, the hop starts tomorrow, it's only a day away!!!!

Thought I'd thank you in advance for joining the Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Wonderland Blog Hop that starts tomorrow.
I'm sorry to say - no cake.
BUT
there will be prizes!

And I'm sure all the wonderful, new ideas will get you in the mood to enter the Sparkle N Sprinkle November Sketch Challenge underway right now.

By the way, I used the Flower Border from the SNS Borders and Elements stamp set to edge the scalloped oval and make the bottom border for this card.  I also used the "Give Thanks" stamp from the NEW SNS Fall Harvest stamp set, blocking off the "Give", for the sentiment.  And the sparkle in the center of the flowers is SNS Sparkling Snow Glitter.

Borders and Elements

This month Sparkle N Sprinkle's  November Specials include Decorative ElementsMedallions and Asian along with featured artist, Andrea Roberts

I'd like to share a couple cards I made using the Borders and Elements Stamp Set.

I used SNS velvet glitters on both cards - luau green and purple potion.  You would not believe how fine these glitters are.  When you rub them onto the SNS Tear-ific Tape you get a very precise look that is there to stay.

Don't forget to stop by on Nov 15-16-17-18 for the Winter Wonderland Blog Hop!!!  This hop will run for FOUR days and will feature  the Sparkle N Sprinkle 2012-2013 design team.  This is a great opportunity to check out what everyone is doing for the holidays!!!   Win fabulous prizes and have lots of fun doing it.

It's my first time participating in a blog hop instead of just hopping  for ideas and hoping for prizes.  So I am counting on all of you for support and lots of comments.

Digi Stamp Challenge

I have found that Digi Stamps do have a few advantages.  Resizing them is the biggest in my book.  There are also a lot of free digi stamps out there for you to try out and use.  Doodle Pantry has a nice selection of really adorable stamps.  While I was challenge selecting, I made a card for Amy who has hurt her back and is far away from PA.  So I'll be sending her this warm and fuzzy card (compliments of dark chocolate flock from Sparkle N Sprinkle) , as well as entering it in their current challenge  DPDC29.

Get well soon Amy!

More Scrap Paper

Another of my favorite challenges is the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I think their stamps are so cute.   November's theme is Cute Christmas.  Unfortunately I don't have any Penny Black Christmas stamps, but I think this one worked pretty well.  I stamped the image a second time on red paper and then cut out and paper pieced the bow.  Notice I used the same scrap background paper as I did on the card in my last post.

Getting Ready for Christmas

That's the name of the current HMFMC#132 House Mouse Challenge.

If I keep up with all my favorite challenges, I will have my Christmas cards ready to go shortly.

The multi-colored background paper on the right hand side is made up of a bunch of scraps, cut into little pieces, glued onto a sheet of plain paper, smeared with glue, covered in glitter and then embossed.  It's a little messy, but uses up those scraps.

I had a "challenging" weekend!

Decided to catch up on a few of my favorite challenges this weekend.

I am entering this card in 3 challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches #60

Great Impressions "Holiday" Challenge

Paper Playtime #88 Autumn Colors

Good Morning Everyone!

Once again it's Monday, my favorite day of the week.  I was awakened by my very annoying cat, Sarge.  But on a Monday he is forgiven and receives a good petting before I get up to do my Mojo Monday card.  And here it is:

I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's new stamp set Fall Harvest.

If you'd like to see an absolutely gorgeous card made from these stamps check out Marie's blog.  She's one of my fellow, very talented, SNS design team members.  In fact, you can see samples from all the very talented SNS design team members this week-end.

Simply take a walk, or hop, in the Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Wonderland  blog hop  Nov 15,16,17 and 18.  There's gonna be prizes.

CTMH Class 11/6/12

Today my grandson, Nick, went along to card class with me.  These are the cards he made with just a small amount of help from Nana:

It was fun having him along and he was a big help passing things and cuttlebugging.

CTMH Class 11/1/12

Due to my internet issues last week, I didn't get the cards from our Close to My Heart class posted.
Without further delay, here they are:

And yesterday, Betty, my friend and CTMH consultant showed me how to make this card.

Soldiers in your cup!

For some reason, as I waited for my blog page to load, the Folgers jingle came into my head.  I guess it's because I like waking up on Mondays because of the Mojo Monday Challenge.  Now you might be wondering why my post heading is "soldiers" in your cup.  There's a cute little joke about a 4 yr old who runs into the kitchen and plops one of his toy soldiers in his mom's coffee cup, because the TV said 'the best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup'.

So here is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday 266 Contest:

The first week of the month Mojo Monday gives out prizes (randomly selected).  If you aren't interested in playing along, check it out anyway.  You'd be amazed at all the ideas and cards that can be made from basically the same sketch.

I used more of the papers that I got as a freebie in my Quick Cards magazine.  The Merry Christmas stamp is from one of the new Sparkle N Sprinkle sets.  The words look a little blurry but are actually embossed with Peppermint Stick embossing powder also from SNS.  The deep purple snowflake embossed cardstock is from CTMH.  Their white core papers make them great for embossing and sanding.  And the gorgeous silver brad and purple sparkles are also from CTMH.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Nov Sketch Challenge

Check out the sketch for Sparkle N Sprinkle's
 November Sketch Challenge.

I used the Digi Stamp Oscar the Christmas Owl by Michelle Perkette and the Santa Hat Season Stamp from my favorite Playful Pengies set to make a card using this sketch.  The tree has just a touch of Sparkling Snow Glitter.  And both Santa hats have
borders of Snow White Flock.
Head on over to the New Challenge Blog
to see the awesome cards that our design team has made to help inspire you.  Please join the fun, enter a creation of your own and you might win a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set of your choosing.
Here is a link to all the  details and guidelines.

I HAVE NO INTERNET!!!! AND i'M GOING CRAZY!!!!

I am at Joyce's for her Tuesday CTMH class which she has moved to today.  We lost our internet Tuesday in the storm, so I have been incommunicado.  Luckily Joyce has graciously let me use her internet.  If you have emailed me in the last few days, I'll answer when I can.  For now, we are still allive in Pottstown, one tree all the way down and one leaning badly.  And now I'm going to make a few cards.
