August is almost over!

It's high time I post my card for the August Outlawz Freebie/Progressive Challenge.

isla_180x180.41375718_mua8d2j2.jpg?version=0

supplied a fun image, New Car, for everyone to play with this month.

It's that time of year when the kids are heading back to school.

My grandson already has his parking permit. It will be his first year driving himself to school.  The girls next door will be piling as much as possible in their cars to head off to college.

With that in mind, I made this card:

I flipped the image so the steering wheel was on the correct side for here in the US.  Then I printed the car in green and brown, fussy cut and paper pieced, adding clear windshields, headlights, a front plate with Good Luck Dazzles, and coloring the tires.  The stamp on the banner and the papers are from CTMH.

Butterfly Birthday Cards

These 2 cards are not what I planned to make.  I was going for quick and easy.   But the butterfly paper was on the top when I opened my box of paper pieces......

These are both top fold cards.  Sentiments are CTMH stamps.  One of my friends gave me the stamped butterflies.  The curvy die is from SU.  The stitched rectangle die is from ODBD.  And the scalloped black rectangle was from Amazon.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #619

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Here is this week's sketch:

At first sight, my flower dies and stamps started running through my mind.  And then I started seeing balloons on strings.  Shooting stars and rockets made a mental appearance.
The mere thought of snowflakes on this hot day was what I decided upon.  As I leafed through my winter stamps, this CTMH holly branch stamp caught my eye.  And I still managed a bit of snow using a SU embossing folder and crystal effects along the branches.  The cardinal stickers and red bling are from my stash.  And the sentiment is a CTMH stamp.
Here's my card:

How will this sketch inspire you?

Starburst cards

The little boy who lives next door will soon be celebrating his 7th birthday.  His party theme this year is Super Mario Brothers.  I was lucky to find a great card on Pinterest featuring Mario.  That led me to Jessica Lewis' blog, scrap sprinkle crop, where I found excellent instructions.

Here is a picture of her card:

This is my version:

It took a while, but I managed to cut all the right shapes and sizes using various dies and punches. The papers and stamps are from CTMH.

And while I had that pack of papers all spread out, I made another birthday card for my grandson, who will be 20 on Monday.

Just couldn't throw it out!

The other day a friend sent me a few die cuts in the mail....

She had taken a Thank You card that she had received, cut off the back, cut the front in half, put the two halves together, taped the ends, and made a nice secure pocket in which to send the die cuts.  It was a very pretty pocket.  I carefully removed the tape so I could reuse the paper and make this flowery birthday card.

I just couldn't throw out that pretty paper.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #618

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Here is this week's sketch:

For my card, I used some SU stamps and dies that I hadn't tried before.  After a bit of experimenting, I decided I liked the effect the glitter foil gave to the stained glass square.

Send A smile 4 Kids August Challenge

The theme for the August Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!

is Thank You
or Anything Goes 4 Kids.

The "thanks" is a die cut from My Favorite Things.
The VW and sentiment are stamps from Taylored Expressions.

I used a lot of leftover cs strips to make the background for this card.  Once I had glued them together and cut it to size, I popped it in an embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug for a bit of texture.

It would be great if you joined the fun at the
August Challenge.
(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!
