Yesterday's Cards

I mentioned yesterday in my post, that we did not have our regular CTMH card class but a few of us were getting together to see what mischief we could get into.  Amazingly enough, aside from eating and chatting, we made three cards.  We all took liberties with colors and papers for our projects.  Here are my three cards.

Gotta run.

Just enough time.....

to get a card done before I go to my playdate.  This one is for Stamping Sensations January Friendship Challenge and also the Outlaws Jan. 29th Color Challenge (CC1029)  where the Twist is also Friendship.  I thought this adorable Doodle Pantry Digital Stamp, which was already printed up and waiting to be colored, was perfect.

Oh deer!!!!

My DH had an very early morning Dr. appt. about an hour from here today.  We have become old retired folk and are not used to playing in traffic before 7am.  Lots and lots of traffic, 25 mph expressway bumper to bumper traffic, we're never going to get there on time traffic.  So we took an alternate route.  About 5 min from our destination 2 deer darted across the road.  I can't believe they didn't get hit.  They just cleared the front of our car before getting off the road.  TG  We got there on time (just),  all went well, and we are safely back home seated in front of our respective computers.   Ahhhh!

So here is a card I worked on yesterday afternoon.

Sweet 'n Sassy's Challenge  SNSDC89 -- It's All White -- requires digital images and, for this challenge, white paper only.  You can add color to them, but they have to start out white.  No DP or colored CS.  The digis and embellishments could be colored.
The Outlawz Current Creative Freebie Challenge (CFC12813) -- supplied me with the adorable digital image by Sandi Hugget.
I'll be entering this card in both these challenges.

Joyce is busy preparing for her daughter's wedding on Friday, so we don't have a CTMH class today.
But a few of us gals are getting together for a play date.  I'm sure we'll come up with something for me to post tomorrow.

Snowy White Sunday Card

There is still a little bit of snow on the ground to give me inspiration for my Sunday Outlawz CAS White Out Challenge.

I am entering the second card in the Outlawz CAS Challenge (CAS012713)
and also Great Impressions sketch challenge.

Saturday's Creation

Trash picking at Joyce's is always such fun.   I used another negative image to make this card:
This was added to my stash to go to OWH.
I am also entering it in Inkspirational Challenge # 4

and Dilly Beans Challenge - Metal Accents

Gray Monday

The weather today is not so good.  Got up to a dusting of snow.  The skies are so gray.  The forecast calls for a good bit of ice this afternoon.  The only place I like ice is in a tall glass.
But I did get up and got right to my Mojo Monday card.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Fab Friday 10 Challenge -

Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge - Show Your Hearts (GCC0128)
Mojo Monday #278 which is always a sketch challenge.

Lots to do today

I won't bore you with my busy Saturday schedule.  Actually I don't have time.  Just a quick thank you to Joyce for allowing me to seek a treasure in her trash for the Sentimental Sunday Challenge.  She has a never ending supply of negatives, which would "look good on a card".   I chose a piece of gray CS from which she had cut 4 hearts to make this card.

I am entering this in the following:
Outlawz Saturday Paper Ala Mode (PAM01262013) - Anything Goes
Sentimental Sundays Challenge #138 - Negative Space (plus a sentiment)
Fab N Funky Challenge #155 - Use Your Favorite Color Combo (gray, pink, and eggplant)
ABC Challenge ABC13 - Birthday Cards

Almost forgot to post today's card

Just as I was about to put my hands in the dish water, I realized I never posted my card today.  This is so much more important than dishes.  I was following a color challenge when making this card.

Actually I used the same color combo yesterday.  But I forgot to use a digi, so I needed to work up a different card to enter the Paper Smooches Cool Shades Challenge

I am also entering it in the Whoopsi Daisy Use a Digi Challenge.

Freshly Made Card for Freshly Made Sketches

I used a cute digital image from Doodle Pantry for this 'hero' card for Operation Write Home

I am entering this card in
Freshly Made Sketches #70

Today's Twist...

for Outlawz Twisted Thursday 'Anything Goes' Challenge (TT012413) is to use DP, embossing, and brads.   I figured this was a perfect opportunity to make a wedding card.
Using the sketch from Tuesday morning sketches, I started with a white card base; then a layer of DP which I embossed with a pretty lace pattern; next glittery silver paper embossed with a swiss dot folder; followed by another layer of the DP; and finally a piece of bright white CS, stamped in silver, heat embossed, with lots of pretty bling.
The DP that I used is a very pale blue flowered print. I just couldn't get it to show in the photo.)

I will be entering this card in:
Twisted Thursday 'Anything Goes' Challenge (TT012413)
Tuesday Morning Sketches #182

and
Perfect Sentiment -PSC63- Blue, Silver and White

CTMH Card Class 1/22/13

First I'd like to thank NanaConnie for the great sketch for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge (SC012313) at Outlawz.  I used stamps from a Close To My Heart Set called Jardin Flair (D1528).  (It's the same set I used for the blue butterfly card I made yesterday, for which so many of you left lovely comments.)  You can order it through Joyce right here.

And this is what I did with the sketch:

I am entering this card in The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge (SC012313)
Paper Playtime Ch #2 - Use some Brown
and
Clearly i Stamp (CiC67)
There's still time if you'd like to play along in any of these challenges.

Now that I've taken care of that bit of business,  I want to show you the cards we made yesterday at Joyce's.  Class is so much fun right now because Joyce is planning her daughter's wedding, has 3 weeks to do it, and when we get to class she is bubbling over with excitement.  She was shopping Monday and showed us all the cool stuff she picked up.  Everything seems to be just falling in to place.  Check out her blog post on Sunday 1/20 to see the wedding invites she made and the adorable little flower girl in her dress.   After sharing her wonderful finds, we made these beautiful cards using the CTMH Stamp of the Month, only available until 1/31:

Red, Pink, and Orange?

Tuesday Outlawz has a color challenge.  And today's colors are red, pink, and orange.  The Tuesday twist was to make a square card.   Here is my entry in the "Jivin'" January Color Challenge (CC0122):

I've decided I need a better way to keep track of all the challenges I'd like to enter.  I added the buttons to my bunny card so I could also enter it in the Loves Rubber Stamps Challenges.  Yeah, that one closed yesterday.  The 2 Thank You cards below were for a challenge where you needed to use red and brown.  Yeah, that one also needed a digi image.  If I could only find the stamp I lost on Sunday, maybe it would shock my brain into working properly.  Yeah, that probably won't be happening either.
I am entering this card in the Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge #36.  I used Kirkland's Vanity Sink as my inspiration.

I am entering this card in Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.
I heat embossed the Thank You to give it a little shine, dry embossed the shiny red paper for some texture, blinged up the corners with some gold dazzles and added a big satin ribbon to add a little elegance.

Inkspirational Challenge

Almost missed getting this card posted in time.  Have CTMH card class in 30 minutes.  Here is this week's inspiration at  Inkspirational Challenge #3.

 And here is my entry:

I liked the basic line of the case in the photo, so followed it in my card, 3 basic sections, top and bottom raised just a bit, corners rounded like the case.   Gotta run.

This card will be sent to Operation Write Home.

Paper a la Mode

Today's Outlawz Saturday Paper a la Mode Challenge
(PAM001192013) is to use Bright Colors,  a perfect theme for making my grandson's birthday card.

This card actually my second project of the day.  This morning was our monthly Above and Beyond Club, where a few of meet at Joyce's to make special projects.  Today we made a mini cake using a battery operated tea light and a little box to match.  We got to use one of the new papers from Close to My Heart, a gorgeous black and white DP.   I still want to bling this up a bit with some pearls, etc.  But isn't it darling?  The box is only 2 1/2 in. square.

By the way, Joyce has just posted pictures of the iris fold cards we made on Tuesday.
Check them out on her blog here: http://joyce-joyfulcreations.blogspot.com/

It's cold in this kitchen!

I didn't plan on spending the last hour or so at my kitchen table.  I booted up the laptop to simply post a card.  Yeah, right!  Like that ever happens.  I started out looking at DT inspiration for today's Outlawz Challenge, which led to looking at a couple of their blogs, and one of those blogs led to to a blog hop (If you're reading this, you know who you are,  L.A.), and I just can't resist blog hops, and one of those blogs led me to a new challenge site, which took me to another blog hop, where I stumbled upon a crafter who likes to do paper piecing, so I checked back through her posts since I like to do paper piecing too (should it be pieceing, no that looks dumb) and then I signed up to follow her blog and suddenly realized this kitchen is cold!
So I'm going to post my entry for the Outlawz CAS Sunday Challenge (CAS012013), which I am also entering in The Paper Players  #129 Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge, and then I'm going to put something in the oven to warm up this kitchen and then go back in my dining/craft room to resume searching for the clear, acrylic tea cup stamp I used on this card and which is now MIA.

and it's one of my favorite stamps, and I've searched and my hubby's searched, and my DH just read this and said it's a bit rambling, then he took another walk around the dining/craft table, came back in the kitchen, the very cold kitchen, and asked what I was going to put in the oven to which I replied,
"my head!"
