Cute Digi

Heather Valentin at Lacy Sunshine deserves all the credit for this adorable Lil Dragon

I just did some coloring and then chose some DP.

TIP: Want to mist your card but don't have the right ink color?  Try jello gelatin powder mixed with water.
Jellypark Challenge - Things that Fly

Bird is the word!

Actually it is the theme for the current Cards in Envy Challenge.  I just picked up 2 Inkadinkadoo sets at a discount store and both have birds.  So I used one of the images for this card:
(When I stamped 'thinking of you' on the white piece, I got some ink where I didn't really want it.  So I blocked the sentiment and then carefully added sections of the main image to hide the whoopsie.)

I'm also entering the card in the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge Blog - N is for newest stamp or decoupage
Delicious Doodles Challenge #50 - Birds of a Feather
Jellypark Challenge - Things that Fly
An Inky Situation Linky Party #5 - Scallops
A.R.T. Thursday Card Challenge # 11- Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge #87 - Anything but a Birthday Card with a Sentiment
The House that Stamps Built DCC#814 - Things with Wings
Little Red Wagon Challenge #199 - Layers
Craft Room Challenge - Something New (birdbath stamp)
Tip Top Tuesday Challenge #108 - Initials  "D" designer paper + dotted paper ; "B" black +
birdbath stamp  (Tip: Use a small punched scalloped square, diagonally cut in 4 pieces, to make decorative corner pieces.)

If you read my blog regularly, you know that my grandsons (ages 6 +8) were here Thursday afternoon.  They came with the following agenda:
I think we fit everything in,  plus a few extras like baking and icing a cake.
Here is the arts and crafts project, I managed to get a picture before the nose cone got any more dented.
Notice the silver rivets are candies from my stash.

You Who?

When I first saw this digi image at Avery Elle, I thought it would be perfect for a gate fold card.
And their current sketch is also perfect for a gate fold.
So I made one:

I will add a fitting sentiment to the inside when I decide who is the 'you'.

In the meantime, I am entering it in the following challenges:

Avery Elle AEI 'heart' U August Challenge

Charisma Card Challenge #33 - More than one fold
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #58 - Anything Goes with a Ribbon

Everyone has something to celebrate.

Here's a bright, shiny card to brighten up your Wednesday.

I found this digi image of cute Chinese lanterns with sentiment on the Avery Elle blog (it's a freebie). I printed it twice so I could cut out and pop the lanterns.  I also cut the sentiment from the image so I could place it below the lanterns.  The green and yellow CS pieces are scored on all 4 sides.  Yeah, top and bottom scores don't show on the photo - sorry.  The glittery piece behind the orange frame is a scrap of vinyl Elaine shared with all of us at card class.  Thanks, Girlfriend.

This card follows the sketch and is my entry for the current Avery Elle AEI 'heart' U August Challenge.

I'm also submitting it to these additional challenges:
Digi Darla's Challenge #76 - Birthday Celebrations
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #185 - Song or Quote  (Celebrate Good Times by Kool and the Gang)
Ooh La La Creations Challenge - Inspired by a Song (Celebrate Good Times by Kool and the Gang)
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #141 - Dies and/or Punches
The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Oh Scrap
Word Art Wednesday Challenge #94 - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything but Birthday Card

Ooooo .... it's getting pretty dark outside for 10:30am.  Hope DH doesn't get too wet on the golf course.
Come back again tomorrow.  My grandsons are coming later this afternoon, so I know we'll be crafting.  They really enjoyed the marshmallow toothpick buildings we made last week.  At least they enjoyed the marshmallows!

Hubby will definitely be wet!  It is pouring, big time!

Ouch, that hurt!

I whacked my little toe on the nightstand while making the bed yesterday morning!  Must be why I have back and blue on my mind.   It does make a pretty color combination for making cards.

This card follows the sketch and is my entry for the current Avery Elle AEI 'heart' U August Challenge.

The framed sentiment on this card is a free digi from Avery Elle which I printed and fussy cut.  After masking the inside oval, I used a dauber to color the outer frame.  To make the patterned background paper, I inked the inside of the embossing folder before inserting the paper and running it through my Cuttlebug.  I hope you can see the strip of black self-adhesive glitter tape I added to the embossed black strip.  It took me about 5 minutes to get the backing off that tape!

With the right inside sentiment, I'm thinking I'll use this as an Anniversary card.   But I think it would make a nice birthday card, too.

I'm also submitting this to the following challenges:
ABC Challenge #41 - Lots of Layers
Make It Monday #154 - Always Anything Goes
Stamp and Create August Challenge - Glitter
Glitter and Sparkle Challenge #46 - Anything but Square
HobbyCutz Challenge #13 - Make your own background
Pile It On #33 - No Designer Paper
Robyn's Fetish #173 - Put a Frame around It

By the way, I added embossing and gems to yesterday's Mojo card.  What do you think?

Off to Joyce's card workshop today.  I'll post our cards tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!
