I never made this type of card before, and may never make another. It was just a little tricky! I followed a Box Card tutorial from SplitCoast Stampers. The image is from Holly Pond Hill. I wrote the sentiment, typed it on the computer and printed it. I used my Craft Dee Bowz maker to make the double bow.

Gift Bags
Back to gift bags.....
Here are 3 of the gift bags I made using House Mouse stamps. I sell them at my cousin's little shop where they make handmade soap. That barn sure smells a lot better now than when I was a kid and the cows were there! Rub a dub dub.

Doodle Pantry June Challenge
Here's my card for the Doodle Pantry June Challenge #35. I didn't really want to post this yet, but the challenge deadline is in a few hours.
Sunday's project + Mojo Monday
Why do I always seem to have so many scraps?
After my grandson's 8am baseball game yesterday, I decided to make a few card fronts to use up the scraps from a pack of DP called Emma's Garden that I received with my Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine. I'll add images and embellishments later. I just didn't want these scraps to get lost because I really liked this paper. I cut and pieced and glued and embossed. Here are the 6 card fronts I made:Check out the triple embossing on the bottom left. It takes a little planning but is very simple to to. It was Technique Junkies technique for last week from their June/July 2013 Newsletter, |
So here's my card for Mojo Monday Challenge # 299.
I'll also enter this card in the following challenges:
ABC Challenge #34 - Red White and Blue
Created with Love Challenge #47 - 4th of July
Get Inky Challenge #7 - Red White and Blue
Friday, June 21, 2013
Red Hat with Iris Folding
I'll enter this in
Crafty Catz Challenge #188 - Pick and Mix (I added embossing.) and
Inspire Me Fridays # 108- Anything Goes

Same digi 3 different ways
I wanted to try some of the techniques I've learned in stamping but using a digi image. I started with an image called small flower cluster from A Creative Need. Then I resized it a couple times and printed a page of different sized digis which I used for these 3 cards:
The first card I made with the Link up for Pink Challenge #14 in mind. You could choose from a sketch, inspiration photo, or both. I kind of tried to do both.
The second card I made with Flutterby Wednesday Challenge #245 in mind. This was a sketch challenge. I made inchies with the digi image.
And since it has 3 butterflies and 3 inchies I'll also enter it in the Glitter and Sparkle Challenge #37.
For the third card I fussy cut the images and popped them in layers on a punched circle before adding it to the card. I used a new embossing folder on the background DP. Next to paper, embossing folders are my favorite craft item because they easily add great texture. With that in mind, this card is my entry in this week's LEJ Designs Challenge #58 and the Digi Makeover Challenge #93 Punches and Dies.

It's gonna be a hot Mojo Monday
It's already pretty hot and humid here in PA. I'm going to need the AC soon, especially since I have a lot of things on my agenda, including making an apple cake. Yum!

Feathers Everywhere.....
There are times when you do things and then you say to yourself.... boy was that stupid!!!!
Here are 2 valuable lessons I recently learned:
....If you are working under a ceiling fan, turn it OFF before you get out the feathers.
....Also, if keeping the feathers in a ziploc bag exercise extreme caution when squeezing the air out of the bag for more compact storage.
(I only needed one teeny tiny purple feather for this card. I ended up picking a lot more off the floor, out of my hair, etc. and I did that twice. Hence the double warning above.)
I couldn't decide whether to color more of the image or not. I just pinked her lips and glittered her necklace because I wanted that grand hat to stand out. I used my Craft-Dee-Bows maker to make that double red bow out of sheer ribbon.
I am entering this card in the following:
Crafts and Me Challenge # 137 - Vintage
Scrap it Girl June Challenge - Use Your Dies
Sandy's Crafty Creations Challenge - Anything Goes with a Twist (Embossed Backgrounds)
Created with Love Challenge # 45- Anything Goes

Gotta Love Packaging
I picked up some Tim Holtz embossing folders the other day (actually I bought them, honest, I have a receipt, empty bag and everything). When I took them out of the package, I really liked the product description paper inside. So I cut it down to A2 size and used my new embossing folder on it to use as the front of this card. I also cut out the mini pictures of the 4 embossing folders in the package and after backing them in black CS attached 2 of them to the card. The self stick craft border at the bottom is an endangered species, retired by CTMH. I use it sparingly, but liked it for this card. The red dog tag is a cricut design to which I added 'celebrate', a couple glitter embossed star bursts, and black distressing.
This card will be entered in these challenges:
Aud Sentiment - #82 Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity - #127 For the Boys
Tip Top Tuesday Challenge # 103 - Masculine (Tip:packaging is great for a lot of crafting- don't throw it away- recycle it)

Today we watched my grandson, who always arrives with an agenda. Who ever heard of a 6 yr. old with an agenda? His agenda consisted of playing with 'that cutting machine' (which would be the cricut), making a Father's day card for my DH, and crafts. While he cut out letters to spell Papa and stamped his card, I actually made a relatively simple card, too. With Father's day approaching, many of the challenges are requesting cards for guys - big, little, daddies or not - so a masculine card is what I've got.
This card will be entered in these challenges:
The Perfect Sentiment Challenge #83 - For the Boys
