Tuesday Morning Sketches on Sunday

 Tuesday Morning Sketches

As a member of the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge Design Team, Sundays I always set aside some time to write comments to those who have entered the current week's challenge.

There have been weeks when there were so many entries I thought I'd never finish.  But, that's not the case lately.  When I checked the challenge blog less than an hour ago, there were only 7 wonderful entries.  I'll be finished writing comments in no time.  This week's sketch was easy and fun.  And the challenge stays open for another 7 hours, plenty of time to enter a card in the challenge.

Here's a birthday card I whipped up this morning in 15 minutes using the current sketch.

I'm so used to making kid oriented cards for SAS4K that I forgot I needed 5 adult cards this week.  The stamp is from Stampin Up; circle dies are from Sizzix, and pretty floral dies are from Impression Obsession. (I cut those out of glitter paper.  It was the first time I used the dies and they worked wonderfully, as IO dies usually do.)   I added the bling and a bow and it's ready to go.

Hope we'll see a few more entries.

Our next weekly sketch challenge starts on Tuesday.

Thanks, Debi B

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - I Spy Something Beginning with a "B" (Bow, Bling, Birthday)

Super Easy Card

This precolored digi image from TLC Creations, St. Patrick's Day Mail Vintage, makes a super easy card.  I used a CTMH stamp to add the sentiment, backed the image with some pink CS to pick up the pink in the birds, used a kraft card base, and added a green woven ribbon bow.  TLC has great vintage images and gives out lots of freebies.  I got this image 2 years ago but don't know if it is still available.

TLC is having a spring blog hop shortly.  You might want to mark your calendars.

Challenges I am entering today include:
Crafty Friends Challenge #27 - Anything Goes
Crafting with Friends Challenge #16 - Anything Goes
Pattie's Creations Challenge #120 - Green
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #136 - Show Me the Green with Ribbon or Trim

Mother's Day Flowers + CTMH Card Class 3/8/16

It's nice to be able to print some digi images, once again.
(I had no printer while we were in Florida the last 2 months.)
This easy to color digi image from Bugaboo stamps is great for a quick card.

Send a Smile 4 Kids will be needing lots of Mother's and Father's Day cards in order to supply all the children, in the various hospitals they service, with cards for their parents on these special days.  I'll be entering this card in their current challenge, Spring Colors 4 Kids, and then popping it a box to mail out before April 15th.  Then I'll have another month before the Father's Day cards need to be mailed.

I am also entering these challenges:
Crafting with Friends Challenge #16 - Anything Goes
QKR Stampede Challenge #182 - Add some Sparkle (I not only added some sparkle glitter to the flowers, but I had a little whoopsie and I added some sparkle all over my dining room where I craft.)
Catch the Bug March Challenge - Anything Goes
Little Miss Muffett Challenge #133 - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart Challenge #102 - Always Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion Challenge #302 - Always Anything Goes
Crafty Boots Challenge - Something for the Lady

It was over 2 months since I had been to Joyce's for a CTMH Tuesday Card Class.  It was so nice to see all the gals.
Here are the cards we made:

You'll find the circle side step card we made here on Joyce's blog.  While you are there, you might want to follow the Joyful Stars March Blog Hop.   Nancy's card is my favorite.  And Donna made a cute card set to share.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

This is one of the cards I quickly made before leaving home so all my January and February birthday cards ready to mail.  I know Dawne received this card a week ago, so it is safe to post it on my blog now.
I stamped the butterfly on a circular tag with gingham ribbon, adhered it to embossed dark pink CS with dimensional tape, added a few skittles and a butterfly charm.

Challenges:
Crafting with Friends Challenge #13 - Always Anything Goes
Just Add Ink Challenge #296 - Just Add Nature

Silhouette Halloween

All I added to this Silhouette Halloween digi image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps was some yellow to the cat's eyes.  Finding and purchasing this Halloween paper pad was my Halloween treat.  And I couldn't resist the Halloween brads.  The stitched circle dies are from La La Land.

Challenges:

Catch the Bug October Bingo Challenge - (I used the last column-Fall (halloween) Theme, 3D Object (spider charm), Bugaboo Image

End of School Thank You #7

Using some vintage style paper and kraft CS, this thank you can go to just about anyone at school from the classroom teacher to the speech or trumpet teacher, the classroom aide, principal, even the poor janitor who gets the job of retrieving the kick balls off the roof.

The "Thanks" stamp is by CTMH and actually reads "Thanks a bunch".  I covered the part I didn't want to use with a piece of tape before inking, then removed the tape before stamping.  Easy Peasy.

End of School Thank You Cards #2

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  The weather is just fabulous for my grandson's baseball tournament, which started Friday evening and finishes up tomorrow.  There are 10 teams playing.  Right now, our team is #1.  But they still have to get through 2 more games tomorrow before they collect the big trophies.  I've made 18 dozen cookies for the snack bar to sell.   And the kids just love those blue raspberry slushies, even though it turns their lips and tongues (sometimes their shirts) blue.  They look like smurfs walking around.
Needless to say, I've been a little busy which is why I have a quick and simple card to show you today.
I think this one will go to Nick's 4th grade teacher.
The stamp is from CTMH.

Challenges:
Creative Corner Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Knockouts Challenge #90 - Sentimentally Yours
Love to Scrap Challenge #54 - Anything Goes

I'll be back tomorrow, after the baseball games are over, with my Mojo Monday Card which will also be Thank You Card #3.

Hoping not Hopping Today

Yesterday I did quite a bit of blog hopping.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has their monthly hop.  Gosh that DT has talent.  I spent some time doing the CTMH Stamp of the Month blog hop and trying to decide if I want to purchase that vintage typewriter and cute sayings.  Sweet 'n Sassy has a fun hop and challenge.  And I still had the monthly Joyful Stars hop to finish.  (I always check Joyce's (super cute chick card), Betty's, Crystal's (she made a great shutter card this month) and Nancy's blogs first)

Now that I got all that hopping out of my system, here's a very simple spring card featuring a flower digi from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, 3 layers and punched scalloped corners - just what I need to enter it in the April Bingo Challenge at Catch the Bug.

(sentiment is a CTMH stamp)

I do believe I'll go out and play in the dirt on this gorgeous spring day!

Tomorrow I have a special Mother's Day card to show you.

CAS Birthday

Here's a very simple birthday card:
which uses free stamps from one of my magazines, one of my new favorite embossing folders and just a touch of pink.  This was going to be a top fold card.  But I stamped the sentiment the wrong way on the inside.  Luckily I hadn't glued the Happy Birthday strip in place,  so it suddenly became a side fold card instead

Challenges for this card include:
Fashionable Stamping Challenge #89 - Something New (stamps)
Scribble and Scrap Challenge #36 - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge #129 - Birthday for a Girl
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #82 - No Circles
Simply Create Too Challenge #77 - Mother's Day or for a Female
Stamplorations January Challenge - Stamps + Ink
As You Like It Challenge - Favorite Embossing Folder and Why (I not only love the old fashioned quilted look of this EF but also the variety of textures it gives to a card.)

Sympathy with a man in mind

This card was not made for anyone in particular.  It is going in my stash.
However, today my sympathy and prayers are for my mother who is having a tooth pulled in about an hour.
No one ever wants to have a tooth pulled.   And I am praying there are no complications because Mom is looking forward to Tuesday, Sept. 2 and the 30th Anniversary Celebration of an ELCA Bible Study that she helped to start in 1984.

I tried to keep this simple and geared to a male recipient, with the tan distressing, and using a knot on the ribbon instead of a bow.  The photo doesn't really show that the top 2 layers are popped 1/8" off the card base.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Love to Create Challenge #130 - Mad About Plaid (I love this ribbon.  At first it appears gingham, but if you look closely there is a red line going through it for a very versatile plaid.)
Come and Get It Challenge - Anything Goes with a Sentiment

CAS Thinking of You

How's this for a Clean and Simple card?
The butterfly stamp was a magazine freebie, as was the idea for this one layer card.  I'm so sorry that CTMH discontinued their little wood trinkets.  I really like them.  The sentiment is CTMH.

Sketches do make life easier!

This card was such an easy one.

CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #86 provided a wonderful sketch this week

for making another card that should be perfect for
my almost 13 year old grandson who is away at school.

I cut the shape using the CTMH Artiste cartridge; stamped the CTMH image on it and colored with markers and pencils then distressed the edges; distressed the edges of a piece of CTMH Kraft adhesive border;  stamped the CTMH sentiment; and assembled.

After submitting this card to CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #86, I'm entering it in these fun challenges:
Melonheadz Friends Challenge - Things with Wings or Tails
Through the Purple Haze Challenge - Distress those Makes

************************
I recently bought my 5 month old great-granddaughter, Laila, a onsie that said
"So Many Bows, So Little Hair!".
You can see why right here.   Perhaps her Great-Nana (that would be me) could use a shirt or crafting apron that says
"So Many Challenges, So Little Time!".
I might work on that idea.  But first I think I'll go make another punny vegetable card using this sketch.  There are still 4 stamps in the set I haven't used.  TTFN

No sentiment required

How could I forget that I had this great embossing folder in my stash?  So many of you commented on this star stamp from CTMH, I decided to use it again for this card and top it with a wood star.

I hope all of you had a wonderful 4th.
We did.
My grandson's baseball team won the 1st game of this weekend's tournament.  That was followed by a fun picnic at my son's home.  With 15 boys between the ages of 5 and 11 in the pool along with a few brave little girls, the party was a big splash!
Let's hope the boys got a good night's sleep because they have 2 more games to play today.
(If you read my blog regularly, you might not have expected a post from me this morning.  We thought one of today's games started at 8:15 this morning.  Turns out it's at 8:15 tonight, which is a good thing because our electricity went out briefly early this morning and our clocks all went out.  I'm pretty sure that without an alarm we never would have gotten up in time.)

I'll be submitting this card to the following challenges:
