Send a Smile 4 Kids June Challenge

The theme for the June Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!
is
Summer Fun

(Anything Goes for kids is always acceptable, too.)

I searched through my digi images and found several that worked for this challenge, baseball, relaxing in the water, and camping.  I used 2 precolored images and also did some coloring and fussy cutting.

The paper scraps were used on the cards shown below.
All of these cards will be in the next box I send to SAS4Kids.

It would be great if you joined the fun at the
June Challenge.
(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.
They work so hard and are very creative!

Dog Days of Summer: Double Trouble Challenge #63

We've certainly had a few of those hot and humid days, also known as the Dog Days of Summer, lately!  That's the theme for the current Double Trouble Challenge.   For Thing #1 there is some dry embossing; For Thing #3 I've included a dog; and I've accepted the Double Dare of Thing #2 by also entering the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge week #622

and a digi image, Summer Dog Pool, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with markers and pencils and fussycut.  Besides the embossed clouds, I added a bit of blue watercolor to the sky.  The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.

Thanks for visiting.  Stay well.  Stay cool.

Mojo Monday Card #2

What do you do when you put adhesive tape on the wrong side of a piece of double sided dp?  And it's not the kind of tape that has a piece of paper covering the adhesive.  It's the kind that comes out of a tape runner, so the stickiness is just there, exposed, ready to grab onto anything and everything.
Well, I made a second Mojo Monday Sketch # 459 Contest Card.
(Roller Coaster and Sentiment Stamps and Papers by CTMH)
Challenges:
Crafting by Designs Challenge - Anything Goes
Stampavie and more Challenge #268 - Blue
Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #282 - Summer Activities (riding a roller coaster) - Ticket and overlay are cuts from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge

Imagine That! August Challenge

It's coming down to the wire for entering the Imagine That! August Challenge.  This month's free digital set is Beach Blanket Girl.  I've used the precolored background and beach umbrella, but I colored the girl with markers.  Kris has also posted a freebie on the challenge blog to get you started in this progressive challenge, in case you've never played before.  But hurry!  To get next month's set for free you must submit an entry before August 28th.
Here's mine:

I thought I'd make the card look like part of a old scrapbook page by adhering the image to glossy white photo paper before securing it under the punched corners and then hand writing the caption.  Hard to believe, but in 1970 I was a bikini babe.  Only there wasn't quite as much to my bikinis or as much of me!  I even had one bikini I hand crocheted with special yarn that wouldn't stretch when it got wet!  And in that beach bag there was always one bottle with peroxide and lemon juice and another with baby oil and iodine.
I hope you can see, in the second picture, that the inside sentiment pops up when you open the card.
Very easy to do, with just 2 cuts of the paper and an extra fold.

This bathing beauty will also be making appearances in the following challenges:
Eclectic Ellapu August Challenge (pink team) - By the Sea

Robyn's Fetish Challenge #278 - Use a Digi
Crafts for Eternity Challenge Recipe #240 - Summer
Creative Corner Challenge - At the Beach
Fun Day Friday Challenge #102 - Lazy Days of Summer
The Stamping Boutique Challenge - At the Beach!

On the Beach

This poor bird,  Flamingo Fun Digital Stamp from the 2 Cute Ink Etsy Shop,  has been out in the sun way too long!
The striped paper is actually from my pile of Christmas paper scraps.  I used a punch to make the framed corners for the image and to scallop the bottom.  The sun is a cut from a CTMH cricut cartridge.  A little clear glitter gel gives the sand it's shine.  And the sentiment is a CTMH stamp.

Challenges I am entering include:
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes 4 Kids
Creative Corner Challenge - At the Beach
QKR Stampede Challenge #153 - Use a die cut (sun)

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #256

This week at Tuesday Throwdown we have a sketch challenge sponsored by My Grafico, where you can find a variety of clipart, graphics, printable templates, digital papers, stamps and much more.   Our design team was given a fun set by My Grafico called Pretty Mermaid to play with and inspire you.  You should see the wonderful matching papers they also have available.
I hope you'll pop over to the Tuesday Throwdown blog to see what my very talented teammates have made for your inspiration.  We've welcomed 2 new team members this week, Amy and Andrea. Please make them feel at home by stopping by their blogs and leaving some love.
Then be sure to join in the fun at Tuesday Throwdown this week.  We just love seeing your crafty cards and projects and visiting all your blogs.

FYI: I printed each creature on different colored cardstock and then fussy cut them to add to the card. I used the negative from cutting out a cloud on the Cricut as a stencil to add the clouds to the blue background paper.  I love the punch I used to create the wave pattern on that fabulous glitter paper.  I made 2 layers to give it dimension with the whale riding between.  I couldn't resist giving the whale a googly eye.  And the banner in the upper right being pulled by an off the page airplane was made using a CTMH stamp.

I am entering this card in these fun challenges:
DRS Designs Challenge #185 - Cause a Scene
Brown Sugar Challenge # 157 - Animals
A Gem of a Challenge #150 - Animals or Birds
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge #148 - Anything Goes

Come and Get It Challenge - Fun in the Sun

Something different

A friend of mine found some cute little lip balm holders on Pinterest, sent me a link and asked if I could make them for her roomie gifts at the CTMH Convention.  I love a good challenge and have plenty of yarn in my stash.

Not bad, with just a picture to go by, huh?  I even let this little guy pose for a photo on my new white sofa.  I haven't even removed the tags yet.

I am entering this in the
Double Click Challenge which has a Disney/Mouse Theme.

************

And this little 2 Cute Ink Monster digi has been colored, fussy cut and floating around on the craft/dining room table for a while.  It was time he found a home.  With the look on his face, he made a perfect card in which to send out a couple of yummy summer recipes.

Challenges:
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Hand colored image

Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful week-end!

Extra Mojo with Deedee's Ice Cream truck

It's about time I got started on making cards for my favorite monthly progressive challenges.
July is flying by!
Using the Monday's Mojo Sketch,

The July digi set is called  "Ice Cream Truck" and you can get the set of colored images, outline images and 6 sentiments in Deedee's shop for only $1.25!  That's a cool deal!  And if you enter the challenge, you'll find next month's set in your mailbox absolutely free.  Double cool!!!

When I printed this cute little bear and sentiment, I also printed the ice cream truck.  At the time I wasn't sure what I would be making. Using the current Mojo Monday Sketch, there wasn't room for the truck.  So, just for fun, I decided to pop it onto the back of the card.

Challenges I am entering today include:

Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes + Stash Item Anything Goes (I've used scraps from an old paper pack.)
Crafty Sentiments Design Challenge - Sweet (Summertime heat makes ice cream the perfect sweet treat!)
Pile It On Challenge # 76 - Hot Fun in the Summertime
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Bear with me

On the subject of ice cream....
Just in case you have an Aldi's grocery outlet near you and you love ice cream....
Yesterday we got a container of white chocolate black raspberry frozen yogurt that was wonderful!

AHSC + H2H

The CTMH Blue Ribbon Paper is so perfect for summertime, I've decided to use it again this week.   I have been making a real effort to keep the craft table organized.  That means that after making last week's card for AHSC, I actually put the paper back upstairs in the closet.  Then when I saw this week's theme at Heart 2 Heart Challenge was "Life is a Picnic",  I walked back upstairs and returned the paper to the craft table to make this card following Sketch #115 at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

The sentiment stamp and ribbon are also from CTMH.  The card base is Kraft paper.  And the remainder of the Blue Ribbon paper is once again back upstairs in the closet.

Today, I am also entering these challenges:
Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes (Stash item also Anything Goes or in this case everything goes because it is all from my stash.)
Craft-Dee Bowz July Challenge - Anything Goes with a handmade bow
Make It Monday with Kraft Outlet Challenge # 231- Summer (What would summer be without the get togethers with friends and family!)

Hello Sunshine

Making a card for Dragonfly Journeys' Current Challenge wasn't exactly on my agenda this morning.  Actually, today was a no agenda day, my favorite kind.  I can just go where the spirit takes me, or not!  I'm afraid the spirit might want me to help my DH trim bushes today, but first it has to move my DH.  Good luck with that, spirit!

The latest issue of Quick Cards magazine has some splendid starburst cards in it,
and I just felt like trying one myself.

The stamp is an old one from CTMH, skittles are from Double Click.  Just before mounting the card front onto the base, I decided to give it a spritz of gold glitter mist, which you can barely see except for the one big spot on the left side of the card.  (Hmmm.
Might be the perfect spot for another skittle.)  It does give it a nice sparkly sheen.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:
Dragonfly Journeys Challenge #12 - You are my sunshine!
Mod Squad Challenge - Patterned Paper
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #234 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - We're going Dotty
Word Art Wednesday Challenge #190 - Anything Goes
Kraftin Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Sweet Stamps Challenge #228 - Bright Colors

BTW, Double Click has blog candy right now.
Win my blog candy!

Decisions, decisions.... & CTMH Card Class 6/30/15

Do I post the card I made for the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge or do I post the one I made for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge?  Actually, I originally made this card for both challenges and then realized the Color Dare colors were Cranberry, Outdoor Denim, & White Daisy and I had used off white instead of white, white.   So then I made a second card using the same sketch, basically, but that one has white daisy.  I'll save the second one for tomorrow.
I've used some retired CTMH paper called Blue Ribbon.  It's a fun summer pattern.  Stamps are also CTMH, and I used the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge to cut the oval.
Wouldn't this make a fun invitation to a July 4th picnic?

The challenges I am entering today include:

Cardz 4 Guys Challenge - Something starting with a B (BarBQue Grill; Blue)

   ***************
This afternoon we made these fun cards at Joyce's CTMH class.

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
