At one time, I did a lot of paper piercing to get that stitched look on my cards.  And then the stitched dies appeared. They are now my preferred method of  'sewing' .  Here are two cards I made using the recipe, a punny sentiment, and the sketch from Try A Sketch on Tuesday.

It's always fun playing in these two challenges.

Outlawz January Progressive Challenge

Before I forget to post it ....

Here is the card I made for the

 January Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge

All Dressed Up has generously supplied this really cute digi image called Rainbow Girl, for free, to all the participants in last month's Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge.  I used markers to color the image, a die to cut it, and a punch for the sentiment ovals.

Shades of Purple

Today's card was inspired by the newest "Less is More" Challenge.  Their theme is simply Shades of Purple, which reminds me of the purple stock I planted in my front flower bed that is just now beginning to fill out.

There is a pile of odds and ends on my craft table which I try to pull from as much as possible.  In it I found this little punched oval stamped with flowers.  On the reverse was a partial sentiment which I clearly messed up.  My guess is that I used the back of that stamped sentiment to test the flowered stamp and then decided to punch the oval for later use.  I used various markers to color the flowers and then glued it to a purple oval that was inlaid on the card front.  The sentiment is from CTMH, also stamped in purple.

Not only is the card clean and simple, but my craft table remained pretty clean as well!

Just had to try....

....this fold I saw in the August Issue of Quick Cards, which our mail man so kindly delivered yesterday in its gray plastic envelope.

I thoroughly enjoyed a conversation I once had with our previous mail lady.  She routinely delivered these magazines, in their opaque and apparently mysterious envelopes, also.  One day she motioned for me to come to her mail truck.  I thought she had a larger package that wouldn't fit in our box.  Then she very sheepishly said, "May I ask, what is in those gray plastic envelopes you get?  Several ladies on the route get them, also."  I believe she was afraid they were PlayGirl magazines or something of that nature.  She almost breathed a sigh of relief when I said they were card making magazines!

My apologies, I digress.
Like that never happens!
Here's the card:

The technique was called Cathedral Windows.  It's a simple fold that starts with a circle.
The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  I thought I'd add that little telephone charm and send this to a friend who I don't talk to nearly enough.  First, I'll do something about the crooked tulle ribbon bow.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Crafting by Designs Challenge - August Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Challenge #294 - Four of something (4 windows; 4 patterned papers)
Creative Moments Challenge #73 - Anything Goes/Bingo  (using the first column-ribbon,punch,charm)

Inky Chicks Challenge #54 - Metal Embellishment

I do love these quiet mornings when my DH is on the links.
Hope you get to enjoy something you love today, too!
