Foiled Decoupage Card

Yesterday was my mother's birthday.  We took our traditional trip to Shady Maple for lunch and baked goods and then made a stop at Bear Creek Nursery for a few plants.  Since it is another beautiful day for outside work, my purchases are already in the ground.
I imagine Mom is working on planting hers, too.

Thought I'd show you the card I made for Mom's birthday.  I used 3 layers from an Anita's Foiled Decoupage Sheet by Docrafts
The background was made from leftover digi paper from Imagine That! Stamps.  I cut the leftovers into uniform widths, glue them on lightweight paper, run it through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder, cut it to size and always like the outcome.  The sentiment is from a sheet of thin foam circles with various messages in either gold or silver, which I happened to uncover in my stash.
A strip of ribbon, handmade bow, sunbonnet charm, and a few pearls finished off the card front.  I mounted that on silver stock and then the card base.
No stamping on the front of this one.

Monday Morning Scraps

There are several cards on my craft table in various stages of completion.  So before I headed out to work in my flower beds on this beautiful day, I finished up two of them.

First, a Thank You card using words cut from a store bought card I recently received.

Second, a general purpose party card, using left over 3/8" scraps of CTMH fundamental paper to piece together the background, a die cut from Die-Versions, and CTMH sentiment stamp and dots.
Here's a closeup of the background.

Challenges:
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Birthday; optional topping- Anything Goes
Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Watercoloring (I used the ink from the lid of the Twilight ink pad and a water brush to color in the Party Time letters.)

I must be off.
Thanks for the visit.

heARTful stamping challenge

Time for another Anything Goes Challenge at
 heARTful stamping.

This month I thought I'd make a
Perek-a-Boo Message Card using stamps from the
CTMH June Stamp of the Month Set, which is only available a few more days, some basic cricut cuts from the Art Philosophy cartridge, and some of the Little Dreamer paper.

First a photo of the card front:

When you pull on the ribbon of the tag,

the little fox moves to reveal the message.

And here's another view of the card with the message revealed.

Now, it's your turn to create something for this month's
Anything Goes Challenge at
heARTful stamping.

Thursday with Imagine That! Stamps

Father's Day may be over but Dad's have birthdays, too.
You could use this card for either.

My DH is an avid golfer, which is why I wanted this fun Golf Set from Imagine That! Stamps in my digital library.
The card was super easy because I sized everything and did the layout on the computer, printed it on white cs, did the coloring with watercolor pencils and markers, matted it with gray textured paper, and then mounted it on a tan card base.  A few diamond shaped doo dads finished off the card.

Have you linked up something crafty in the Imagine That! Creative Playground this month?  It's an Anything Goes Challenge, but if you use an Imagine That! Stamp you'll get the Giraffe with Coffee Set for FREE.

This is my last official post for Imagine That! Stamps.
It's been loads of fun being a Guest Designer.
I hope you liked the cards I made using their images.

Now, I'm off to enter a few challenges:
Unicorn Challenge #22 - For the Guys
Come and Get It Challenge - Happy Father's Day
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge #244 - Father's Day/Masculine

Thanks for dropping by!

My last Wednesday with Great Impressions Stamps

It's officially summer.
That often mean vacation visits from friends and relatives.
This would be a lovely way to thank someone for their visit .

I've used the Daisy Flourish Stamp (E702)
and the  So Wonderful Sentiment Stamp (E805).

It's been so much fun being on the Design Team for Great Impressions Stamps Challenge.
I hope you've enjoyed the cards I've made using Great Impressions Stamps as much as I've enjoyed making them.

There's still time to enter the June Challenge.
for a chance to win this prize.

Catching up

As promised yesterday, today I am posting the cards from our CTMH class this week.  First, I have a Thank You card I made using another one of my new Die-Version dies.
I am a real scrap saver and user, even though I've probably collected enough paper to last my lifetime.  And I often make card fronts to use up my scraps and set them aside for future use.  With the new flower dies, a sizzix die that came with my cuttlebug, and a tiny sentiment from Taylored Expressions, this card is ready for the SAS4K box.

Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #182 - Bingo (Top row: Pattern Paper, Embossing, Die Cut)

DL Art Thankful Thursday Challenge #206 - Patriotic or Thank You
The Crafty Addicts Challenge #37 - Anything Goes with option of summer colors

**********
And here are the cards we made Tuesday at Joyce's class featuring the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month:

The 4th card we made was a last minute creation.  I was so excited about the dies I had won that I cut a dozen "Happy Birthday"s from CTMH fundamental paper (retired, unfortunately), and took them to class intending to just share them with the gals.
But Joyce quickly put on her thinking cap, cut a few frames on her cricut, matched up the die cut with some CTMH paper, and we all made this card.

It's not quite so hot today.  Perhaps I'll pull some weeds.  Heaven knows there are plenty of them!

Running behind

June really snuck up on me.  And so did my friend Laurie's birthday.  She got this card a few days  late, but I sent her a few die cut goodies to make up for my tardiness.
I love this new die I just received from Die-versions, part of an awesome prize I won in a recent Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge.

Challenges I am entering today
Moving Along with the Times Challenge #47 - Embossing (I used dry embossing with 2 different embossing folders.)
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Birthday (I didn't go with the one layer optional topping.)
Southern Girls Challenge #162 - Stuck On You (I used silver shimmer tape for the little banner and 3 tiny flowers)
Aud Sentiments Challenge #182 - Bingo (I used patterned paper, embossing and a die cut)

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #002 - (I  used embossing, gray and a die cut)

The Crafty Addicts Challenge #37 - Anything Goes with optional die cuts
Everybody Art Challenge #405 - Happy Birthday
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #163- Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - Add Sparkle

Yesterday at Joyce's CTMH card class, Joyce mentioned she hadn't seen the cards we made last week on my blog.  I promised I'd get them posted today.
(Mickey, I'll post the cards we made yesterday tomorrow.)

Great Impressions Stamps Wednesday Hello

Here's a super simple card I made using Great Impressions Stamps Handy Mouse(320S) and Happy Dad's Day(D389).

First, I stamped the sentiment on the white card base.  That way I could change up the layout if I messed it up.
Next I stamped the image with black momento ink.
Sometimes it's nice to work with images that don't require a lot of work when it comes to coloring.  This is one of those images.  A few quick marker strokes, using the colors from the papers I had chosen, and I was finished.  Matching patterned papers always make life easier.  These were from a DCWV Basics Stack.  Again picking up the colors in the paper, I cut mats and a die cut frame and glued everything on place.
The only thing remaining, is entering this card in a few challenge, which you'll find at the bottom of this post.

Last week I posted a card for Great Impressions Stamps.  It, actually, wasn't quite finished yet.  I was waiting for a stamp to arrive.  Yesterday it did.  Now I can show you the inside of the card.

(using Great Impressions Stamps Thoughtful Cow E727 and Udderly C469)
And, in case you missed it, here is the card front.

Monday Make

Today was a hectic one.  Bank, Drug Store, Grocery Store, Gas, Hospital, Post Office.....  I needed a little crafting to take my mind off everything else.  Normally, I would turn to the Mojo Monday sketch.  With that weekly challenge closing I was a bit adrift.  Then I opened my email and saw a fabulous tutorial from Beccy's Place.  Thank you, Beccy!
Here is the card I made following Beccy's Altered Double Display Card tutorial

I added a belly band to hold the card together for mailing.  The papers are a magazine freebie.  The digi images and sentiment are from the Bullion Roses Set from Beccy's Place.  The lower part of the sentiment (and wishing you a speedy recovery) was computer generated and added below the digital sentiment before printing on the pink paper.  Flowers and leaves were colored with watercolor pencils and blended with clear Wink of Stella.  For the belly band I used a scalloped circle punch, a border punch, a stitched circle die, some lace, ribbon and a charm.

Challenges:
Beccy's Place June Challenge - Anything Goes with an image from Beccy's Place
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #150 - Flowers
Pile It On Challenge #131 - Fancy Folds
The Ribbon Girls June Challenge - Anything Goes

Oh my!  Look how late it has gotten!
Almost time to call it a day!
Good night.

Flapper Dress Card

As I was flipping through pinterest the other evening, I noticed a cute card with a flapper dress on it.  It reminded me of the fabulous red flapper dress Jan wore to our Red Hat lunch on Wednesday.  Since I hadn't made her birthday card yet,  it was perfect timing and inspiration.  This will be going out in tomorrow's mail.  Happy Birthday, Jan!
The Happy Birthday stamp on the hatband is from CTMH.

Challenges:
Stinkin' Inkers Challenge - Girls Just Want to Have Fun  (Red Hatting is definitely fun!)

 Enjoy your Sunday.
It's gonna be a hot one here.

Joyful Stars CTMH June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June

Close to My Heart Joyful Stars Blog Hop.

Have some fun hopping between the blogs of this group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, where we share creative projects using CTMH products.

My project for the June Blog Hop is a Magic Reveal Spinner Card.  (This design was featured in a recent Splitcoast Stampers weekly newsletter.    I highly recommend signing up for the newsletter because it brings you fabulous tips and ideas every week.  You will find a tutorial for making the Magic Reveal Spinner Card here.)

Using the little loop of ribbon, you turn the circle in a clockwise motion....
keep turning....

to reveal the image underneath.
I've used papers and stamps from the CTMH Jack* Workshop on the Go, paired with Black and Juniper cardstock.  The owl stamp is from the retired Teacher Appreciation Set D1612.
*You might also like to view the Father's Day fan fold card I made using these same papers.
My grand niece, Ronin, has just graduated from kindergarten... cap, gown, diploma, the whole nine yards.  She will be visiting this weekend.  Since she loves owls, I know she will love this card from her Great Aunt Silly.
Now, since this is a blog hop, you might have arrived here from Marie Flayer's blog.

Your next stop is  Krista Hershberger's blog.
The hop is circular. So if you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back, making the full circle.  If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on Joyce's blog

While you hop, I'll enter this card in a few...
Challenges:
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge- Frame It  (I used a Spellbinders circle die for the black frame.)
Animal Friends Challenge - June Animals with Wings
Cut It Up Challenge #123 - Follow a tutorial (Splitcoast Stampers tutorial; Spellbinders dies)

Thursday with Imagine That! Stamps

This embossing folder has been in my stash for quite some time.  It turned out to be a perfect accompaniment to the cute digi in the Imagine That! Stamps set Humphrey's Ties.

For this card, I've used the outline image and colored it.  However, there is a colored version in the set, and the circle sentiment is included, too.
*** Don't forget to play in the Imagine That! Stamps Creative Playground Anything Goes Challenge.  You could win $15 to spend in the Imagine That! Stamps Shop.  There is a free digi set available to anyone who uses an Imagine That! Stamp.

Wednesday Inspiration with Great Impressions Stamps

Father's Day is less than two weeks away.
Do you have your cards ready?
If not, when you have one finished, we'd love to see it in this month's Masculine challenge at Great Impressions Stamps.  This happy Farm Tractor (F497) stamp is perfect for a guy card.   Pair it with the Happy Dad's Day(D389) sentiment stamp and you're in business.

After coloring the image with markers and watercolor pencils, I used hexagon dies to cut it and a matching frame.  The framed image is popped onto the embossed card base.  Fussy cutting around the sentiment gives it bit of extra interest.  Three strands of knotted baker's twine and a few metal embellishments finish off this card.
Challenges:
Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #118 - Anything Goes option Father's Day
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Masculine
Cards in Envy Challenge - You're the Man

It was nice of you to stop by today.
See you soon!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #346 with My Grafiico

Everyone at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is on a Sugar High this week using some scrumptious images from our sponsor,
http://www.mygrafico.com/digital-stamps/cat_95.html
I chose to use a wonderfully yummy looking cupcake image for my DT card.   It is a graphic from the Tea Time Set by Lemon Elf Studio at My Grafico.  There are also tea pots, tea cups, tea bags, and teaspoons included in the set of 15 images.

This angle shows how shiny the cricut cuts, the sprinkles and the cherry are with a coat of CTMH liquid glass.
We invite all of you to show us your cards and projects for this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Theme, Sugar High.

Melancholy Mojo Monday

For the better part of one's life, Monday is not a day to which you look forward.  Since I retired, it has become my favorite day of the week.  Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge is the reason.  My blog was actually started so that I could play at Mojo Monday.  I doubt I've missed many weeks, if any, posting a card for this fun challenge.  Other than the tall & skinny challenges (I'm short and chubby, sorry I can't relate.), I've enjoyed every sketch.  Once, I even won a beautiful set of Verve stamps.
This card was made with Julee Tilman in mind.  Julee is the designer of the weekly Mojo Monday sketches.   Today she announced that this week's sketch is the final one.
Thank you, Julee, for all the sketches, all the comments you've left on my blog, and all the blog friends I've made as a result of Mojo Monday.
All papers and stamps are from CTMH.
When I told my DH that Mojo Monday was closing, he asked what I would do, sleep through to Tuesday?  Maybe I'll just go back to the beginning and start with the first Mojo Monday sketch and work my way back through them.
Just for fun, I went back to look at the very 1st Mojo Monday card   I posted almost 5 years ago.  It was only my 6th post on the blog and I hadn't yet figured out how to enter it in the challenge.  That was sketch #252, which means I have about 250 early sketches to get me up on Monday mornings for a while.

Good luck, Julee.
Enjoy every moment with those little ones!

Challenges:

Now, I must go feed the neighbor's cats and goldfish.
The goldfish is new and I forgot all about it the first 2 days of my watch.  When I remembered, I was certain I'd find it belly up.  But, fortunately, all is well.  The goldfish lives.

this cute pooch could also be used for a dudette.
