Santa cards

Here is a pair of cards using a cricut cut sentiment and its negative image.

The Santa in the first card is a Tim Holtz stamp from Stampers Anonymous.   The sentiment is a cut from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  It was cut from printable white glitter paper and then colored red with a marker.  Santa was stamped on the same paper and colored. The patterned papers are just scraps.

The Santa on the second card was a 3D sticker I salvaged from a card I received last year.   I placed some red paper underneath the white glitter paper from which the Ho Ho Ho above was cut and carefully glued in the centers of the o's and a few other pieces.  Cut once, use twice.  To this card I added some washi tape and a bow.

Joyful Stars Close To My Heart December Blog Hop

Christmas is fast approaching.  Not a particularly good time for Barbara to fall and bust a hip. With my temporary craft area (moved from the dining room table for Thanksgiving thru Christmas) littered with Christmas papers, I chose some of the Close To My Heart Oh Deer papers to make her a get well card.  I thought a busted hip definitely deserved an Oh Deer!

It wasn't until after I made this card, that I decided to use it for the December Joyful Stars Close To My Heart Blog Hop.

Welcome to the Joyful Stars December blog hop, where a group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, gather to share ideas with you in a fun blog hop.

After cutting the letters for the card above out of the beautiful CTMH sea glass glitter paper, I was left with a negative that I just could not resist using.

Now, since this is a blog hop you might have arrived here from Andrea Sherman's blog.
Your next stop is my friend, Tracey Pierce's blog.
The hop is circular. So if you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back, making the full circle.  If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on Joyce's blog

Enjoy!

CTMH Card Class + free for all 8/23/16

The first card we made yesterday, under Joyce's tutelage, included  flowers from the new CTMH Flower Market Cricut Cartridge.

The sentiment stamp also comes with the cartridge bundle.
The next 2 cards we made using scraps and then one of the new word thinlits with the cuttlebug to die cut it.
We actually used the resulting negative for our cards.

Most of the other gals added very pretty cricut cut flowers to their cards.  Being the rebel of the group, I thought I'd make more masculine cards.

We still had the die cut "hello"s to make 2 more cards.  It was free-for-all time.  Joyce made lots of scraps and card bases available to us and we were on our own.
Here's the first card I made.
I had it mostly laid out at Joyce's and then brought it home where I added the embossing and punched border across the bottom.

For my final card, which I just finished up this morning, I used an oval negative found in Joyce's scraps and strips of fundamental papers from my stash.

The Cardz 4 Guys Challenge requires the addition of a furry friend, so I added the cute CTMH stamped monkey.  I not only fussy cut the little guy, but paper pieced the banana he is holding with his tail.  I am being to think I am certifiable.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #134 - include a furry friend
The East Wind Challenge #51 - Paper Piecing
One Stitch at a Time Challenge #269 - Anything Goes for Men
Aud Sentiments Challenge # 162 - For the Men + sentiment

Sunday Scraps

Yesterday I got busy making a card for the Joyful Stars Blog Hop which goes live on Wednesday, March 10th.  Today you get a glimpse of that card, because I used some of the scraps.

No way could I toss this cute bunny negative, a cut on the CTMH Artistry Cricut cartridge.  The papers are from the Kaleidoscope pack; the negative is pink fundamental paper. I punched the tails from white shimmer trim and also ran a strip across the bottom.  I used a marker to do the inside of the bunny ears and his mouth; then decided to add some prisma glitter to those ears.  Flower buttons, a bow, a basket charm, ric rac, gems, and liquid pearls finished off the card.

Challenges:
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Spring Colors 4 Kids
Creative Corner Challenges - Bunnies Everywhere
Crafty Catz Challenge #314 - Use 3 different papers
ABC Challenge - C is for Cute
613 Avenue Create Challenge #166 - Anything Goes; option - glitter
Pile It On Challenge #103 - Green + 2 other colors (pink and yellow)

Enjoy the rest of your day!
I'm headed to Mom's for Sunday tea.

Thanks Judie!!!

Tuesday at card class, Judie showed us 2 gorgeous 4th of July cards she had made for her grandkids.  I should really talk her into setting up a blog to share her creations.  They are fabulous.  Then after she showed us her cards, she very proudly gave me this:
a wonderful pile of negatives.
Missing from this photo are the two negatives I used for these cards:

Off to the start of another baseball tournament this evening.  My grandson is excited because the game doesn't start until 8:15 and they get to play under the lights.  I hope he stays awake.  He's usually in bed about that time.  Heck, I hope my DH and I stay awake.
Tomorrow's game is in the middle of the afternoon and also the middle of my son's annual 4th of July Picnic.  I made a big batch of mac & cheese without bread crumbs on top (my grandsons' request) and I have baked beans in the oven that smell so good.

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!
