At the beginning of the month I told you about the twist turn card I had made but couldn't post because it was for a birthday at the end of the month, so, I posted a Crazy Bird Card instead?  Well, now it's the end of the month.  And if Judie hasn't retrieved her mail from her PO Box yet, that's just too bad.

Birthday with punched flower

Today I needed to get 4 birthday cards made so they could go out in the mail tomorrow.  Mission accomplished.
This card, inspired by one I saw on Pinterest, is the only one I can show you .  The others will appear as design team cards later.  I love when I can 'kill 2 birds with one stone'.
Papers and stamp are CTMH retired Dotty Paper and current Fundamental paper.  The green embossed piece is washi tape over plain cs and then embossed.  The light green lace edge is punched and the dark green frame is a MFT die cut. Ovals are punched and distressed.  Butterfly is from the Eyelet Outlet.  The inside has a birthday sentiment.

I am entering these challenges:
Stampotique Designers Challenge #250 - Flowers, Butterflies, Garden Things
Allsorts Challenge #368 - How does your garden grow?

have a
HAPPY
 day!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #299 with MHK Designs

 Happy Birthday, Asha!

This week we are celebrating the birthday of one of our talented Tuesday Throwdown Challenge teammates by joining with MHK Designs, where Asha is also on the design team, for a surprise blog hop!
At least we are hoping it's a surprise!

Here is my contribution to the hop
(You'll find a link to your next stop near the bottom of this post.)

and inspiration for this week's challenge,
a pop up card,
using the Eat Your Cake digi set from MHK Designs.

closed card
Image emerges as you pull up the center section.
Fully opened card forms it's own box for display.

Side view showing the box section.
(The back of the center section is blank to write a personal message.)

Dawn Griffith has a wonderful tutorial for this type of card on You Tube.  The papers are from CTMH.  The bow is a Tattered Lace die cut.  The stitched circle is a La La Land Die Cut.
And all the edges have been distressed using a sponge dauber.

Which leads me to this week's challenge at
Tuesday Throwdown
where the theme is Distressing.
The digital images Team B used were provided to us by MHK Designs, this week's sponsor.   They have a nice variety of digital vintage and modern sentiments and images, as well as, digital papers.
You can check out their Etsy store here.

I've used the Digital Set, I Wheely Like You, for this card.
(The computer generated sentiments are not from the set.)

I hope you'll join us for this week's
Tuesday Throwdown challenge.

Now it's time to continue hopping.
You might have arrived here from Davi Reid's Blog.   If not, start at the MHK Designs blog to follow the complete hop.  The next stop on the MHK Birthday Hop is Emily Lauritzen's Blog.

And don't forget to stop by Asha Martin's blog
and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Thanks a Latte

Normally, I only make one Mojo Monday card.
But today I wanted to make a second card to
thank Julee
for the wonderful free Verve digi set she has made available.

There's nothing like a nice cool iced latte on a hot summer day!
I've used some SU papers to make this card but left a lot of white to give it a cool, crisp, summery feeling.  (In case you can't tell from the photo- the dome of the lid was removed and replaced with a piece of clear plastic and the heart on the cup has a layer of CTMH liquid glass to give it a shiny look.)

Challenges being entered are....
Coffee Loving Cardmakers Summer 2016 Blog Hop - Coffee/Tea Inspired Summer Themed Project

Mojo Monday #453

My craft (dining room) table looks like a tornado hit it.  When I need the tape, a tool, a marker, whatever, it's like playing a game of I Spy.  I am almost finished making the cards my cousin requested.  Then, hopefully, I'll get things a bit more organized.  I know I have turquoise glitter trim somewhere!
Kid cards is what I'm working on right now.  My 'go to' digi stamps for kids are Bugaboo Stamps.  I printed up a bunch and set to coloring.  This pile of partying turtles  was perfect for today's Mojo Monday sketch.

(Sentiment stamp is CTMH)
I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

QKR Stampede Challenge #196 - Stitching Real or Faux

Now, I must work on a very special Tuesday Throwdown Challenge DT post  for tomorrow.   Hope you'll be back to check it out!

CTMH Card Class 6/14/16 & Dino Cards for dad

We made some great cards at Joyce's Close to My Heart class this afternoon.  I goofed up 2 of mine,
but, with a few revisions, you can't even tell.  Or can you?
Can you guess which ones?

These 2 cards, above and below, are Designs by Marguerite.

***********
And here are a couple cards I made for Send a Smile 4 Kids.
The stamps are CTMH.
I'm not sure where I picked up the paper, but I knew it would be perfect for Father's Day Cards.  I love a nice plaid when I'm making guy cards.

Challenges:
Inky Chicks Challenge #68 - Father's Day or Male Card
Bitten by the Bug Challenge - Father's Day/Masculine (The letters were cricut cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge)
Cards in Envy Challenge - No Girls Allowed
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - For a Special Man
Crafty Boots Challenge - Masculine Cards

I just took a pan of brownies out of the oven and sat it here, on the table, to cool.  They smell soooo good.  I think I better finish this up and move to another room before the temptation  overcomes me!

A Glorious Day for Mojo Monday

We have another beautiful weather day today.
I think I'll get this posted and then head out for a walk.

The image I wanted to use for this card was a bit large for the sketch.   But, basically, I followed the layout.

You may recognize this stamp as a Penny Black Design.
The starburst frame and sentiment (and the confetti dots) are from Close to My Heart.
What coloring I did on the cat was with pencils.  The rest is paper pieced.

Challenges for today:

The Ribbon Girls June Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Birthdays
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes 4 Kids
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Lots of Layers

Here's a Father's Day card
using CTMH products and stamps.

Hope you are having a beautiful day wherever you are.  We have sun, a breeze, and low humidity.  Positively glorious.  That kind of explains the quick post.  See you tomorrow for Mojo Monday.

Joyful Stars June Close to My Heart Blog Hop

 photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpg
Welcome to the Joyful Stars June blog hop, where a group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, gather to share ideas with you in a fun blog hop.

CTMH's  newest Seasonal Expressions catalog is full of new products.  For my card, I've used double sided paper from the Magical paper pack to make this fun Father's Day Card.

The opposite side of the striped paper is red with white polka dots.  The black bow ties are randomly stamped to make it a bit more interesting and masculine.
This new stamp set is called Day for Dad.

Now, since this is a blog hop you might have arrived here from Joyce Houck's blog.
Your next stop is Betty Locco's blog.  The hop is circular. So if you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back, making the full circle.  If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on Joyce's blog.  I've made my way around the circle and I think you'll want to, too.

Challenges I am entering today....
Crafting for the Craic June Challenge - Something Masculine
Inky Chicks Challenge #68 - Father's Day or Male Card

Bridal Shower/Wedding Card

Today I switch from Baby Shower Cards to some for Bridal Showers.
I think this card could be used for either a shower or as a wedding card.

You can't see the clear glitter Wink of Stella in all the flower petals, but in person it's very pretty.
The stamp on the card front is from Verve.
The inside stamp is from CTMH.
The velum die cut is from Cherry Lynn Designs.
The doily embossing folder is by Sizzix.
The flowers are fussy cut from the center of the embossed doily.

Challenges:
Scrapy Land Challenge #43 - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Challenge #317 - Tic Tac Toe (1st column: sentiment, flowers, leaves)

Eclectic Ellapu June Challenge - Purple Team: Wedding
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #110 - Bingo (3rd column: emboss, die cut, ribbon)

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #297 with Robyn's Fetish

This week at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge we are

and the theme is .... It's a Man's World.
I have chosen to use Choo Choo Charlie, a Robyn's Fetish digital stamp, for my card.

Actually, I only used the engine of the train.  The digi has 2 cars attached, as you can see in my second card further down in the post.

Here's a closeup I took before the card was finished.  Same card but under different lighting.  I wanted you to see the Gold Wink of Stella on the engine trim and the embossing pattern in the CTMH fundamental paper.

Here is another card I made using the entire digi stamp.

I hope you'll all hop over to Tuesday Throwdown to see the

other wonderful cards my Team has made using a variety of digi stamps, generously supplied by Robyn's Fetish, to inspire you

to join in this week's challenge.
And feel free to do some browsing in the
It's open 24-7!

I am submitting the first card to these other fun challenges:
Love to Scrap Challenge #79 - It's a Boy Thing

Craft Your Passion Challenge #315 - Always Anything Goes

Muggy Mojo Monday Morning

If you saw yesterday's blog post, you will already know that I am busy making some baby cards for my cousin.  Hence, my craft table is covered with pinks and blues.  This morning I picked up an American Crafts paper pad to put together this card for the June Mojo Monday Sketch Contest #451.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Baby Card

My cousin, Nancy, dropped me a note requesting some baby cards.
Here's card #1:

I didn't want to color the image for fear I'd ruin it.
The stamp is from Graphic 45 Hampton Arts.
Die cuts are from Our Daily Bread.
(And I'm saving all those teeny, tiny pieces from the edges of the die cuts for inside a shaker card.)

Challenges:
In the Pink Challenge #95 - 1, 2, 3  (1 image, 2 pieces of lace, 3 layers of pink)

Chillin' Out + CTMH Card Class 6/2/16

We have a nice cloudy day today.  I actually got some gardening done this morning.  I just can't work in the heat any more.  All the plants have finally found homes in one pot or another.  And I'm counting on some rain later today and again Sunday to give them a good soaking start.  Boy, am I glad that's finished!
It is June!
Time for Father's Day cards.

For some reason, I really like this digi from TLC Creations.  Keeping it relatively simple, I only colored the light bulb nose, adding liquid glass to make it glossy.

Challenges I am entering include:
Creative Corner Challenge - Just for Men
Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge #122 - Something starting with a 'z' (There is a zig zag pattern on the gray textured paper.)

************
Yesterday was our CTMH card class at Joyce's.
Here are the cards we made:

The last 2 cards were inspired by cards designed by CTMH Consultant Marguerite in Sydney, Australia.
