December Progressive Challenge Cards

Before December is over and a New Year begins, I thought I'd bettter share the cards I made for two progressive challenges.

My first card is for the December DOTM Challenge at Imagine That!.

The second progressive challenge in which I always like to participate is at The Outlawz.  This month MMedel Illustrations has gifted us with a really cute digital image called Angel.

Here is my submission for the Outlawz December Progressive Challenge:

I made a total mess of my work area by putting CTMH fine glitter on her dress and wings.  The rest is colored with markers.

Happy Holidays to all!
I hope Santa put something crafty in your Christmas stocking!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #633

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Here is this week's sketch:

My Red Hat gals enjoy really making cards.  Last week we made four Christmas cards.
When prepping the card kits, I made a few extra poinsettias.  One of them is below, on my TMS design team card for this week.
The flower is a layered die cut from Spellbinders.  I cut enough for 16, spread them out on the table top, and sprayed them with a spray mist from Tattered Angels.   I used dies from Sizzix to cut the Winter Wishes from white glitter paper.  Then I placed a few dots of glue here and there among the embossed snowflakes and sprinkled white glitter over top.

I hope you'll have time to play along at
this week.
The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.
You can be sure that one of us will be visiting yours!

Yesterday when I posted my November card to the Imagine That! SOTM Challenge, I noticed that Imagine That! was also having a 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.
By simply switching the image and large sentiment to opposite sides, I was able to use the Tuesday Morning Sketch above to create this card.

The use of Red & White was optional, but I tried to stick to that as much as possible.  In looking for background paper, I discovered that I have very little red and white Christmas paper in my stash.  That is a situation which needs to be corrected.

This cute Christmas Dachschund is an Imagine That! digi. I colored this with markers and water colors with Gamsol.  I paper pieced the stripes of glitter paper on the sweater. The sweater and hat bands and pom pom are glue and glitter, the kind that goes everywhere.  My SIL has a dachshund named Holly, so this card will go to her.

Hope you have a great day!
Don't forget to play in these two fun challenges!

September Progressive Challenges

Today I am sharing the cards I made for two progressive challenges.  Each month you play, using their digi, you receive a new digi for the following month.

My first 2 cards are for the September DOTM Challenge at Imagine That!.  The Meerkat digis are so cute I just couldn't make meerly one card!

I am also entering this second card in the Something, Anything, Everything Challenge #93 at Double Trouble. I've included a pumpkin as my harvest element and am also entering the Dies R Us Challenge #177.  The scalloped circle dies are from Spellbinders, the brown circle die is from Sizzix, and the foliage dies are from Impression Obsession.

The second progressive challenge in which I always like to participate is at The Outlawz.  This month Hettie Clare Art has gifted us with a really cute image called The Little Ballerina.

Here is my submission for the September Progressive Challenge:

Candlewick Ovals by Spellbinders frame the digi image, which is partially colored and also paper pieced.  I know my niece will love receiving this for her birthday.

Thanks so much for visiting!

There's nothing cute about being cold!

Yesterday it was downright freezing at my grandson's soccer game! (Do they call them games or matches?  We are soccer challenged.  I tried to find a Soccer for Dummies book, so we could read up on the sport, but couldn't.)
It was 47 degrees; the wind was blowing right in our faces; if you stood up, the chair blew away; and it was lightly raining!
After about 10 minutes of that torture, I headed to the car and watched from there!

Seems like the perfect time to post this card using the Gerda Steiner Designs digital stamp, Cold Hedgehog.  Cold or not, this little fellow is so darn cute!

Challenges:
Gerda Steiner Designs October Challenge - using cold hedgehog
The Ribbon Girls Challenge - use any image
Crazy Catz Challenge #343 - Anything Goes w/ twist: embossing
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #151 - Orange you glad it's Autumn, with ribbon or trim

Right now, it seems there are spider webs on all the chair legs in my living room.  I can see them from the dining room where I do my crafting.  Those little guys are pretty safe until I get around to some Thanksgiving cleaning.  Although, now that I think about it, you really only see the webs when the sun hits them.  I serve dinner at 6pm.  No sun then!
While looking through my Imagine That! Digi Stamps folder, I came across this stamp that I had never used.
I made up this card, just for fun
(and to add to the IT FB gallery).
Now, who do I send it to?
Challenges:
Come and Get It Challenge - Make Um Laugh
Crazy 4 Challenges #359 - Bees and/or bugs
As You Like It Challenge - Old Stash or New?  (Everything on this card is old stash!  It's a combination of a scavenger hunt, finding Easter eggs and opening Christmas presents everytime I make a card!  What fun!)

Imagine That! Friendship Card

This digi image and sentiment were freebies from Imagine That!  Thanks, Kris!!!
I must admit that I resized the bunny in the original digi because it  reminded me of that over-sized rabbit, Harvey, in the Jimmy Stewart movie.  That rabbit always creeped me out!

Rumor has it that Fall officially begins this week.  It's in the 80's today and our leaves are still mostly green, but the acorns and hickory nuts are beginning to drop and the squirrels are busy hiding them in my flower pots.  I know there is something buried in my front pot because I just planted those mums on Friday and Saturday morning there was fresh dirt all over the stoop.
I've chosen to use fall colors on the card and my favorite fall embossing folder.  The green paper also has a few shots of Gold Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.

Finally, I made sure I had all the elements needed to enter the Imagine That! Creative Playground Challenge #8: Easy as 1, 2, 3.
1 Bow
2 Wood Acorns
3 Banners (upper left)

Other challenges I am entering include:
Come and Get It Challenge - Lots of Layers
Pile It On Challenge #117 - Autumn Colors or Theme
Scribbles Designs Challenge #45 - Woodland Creatures
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Fall Colors 4 Kids
Creative Corner Challenge - No Patterned Paper Allowed
Aud Sentiments Challenge #164 - Fall Colors + a sentiment

Thanks for stopping by!

Imagine That! Mojo Monday

Yesterday I printed up this cute colored digi and a small bit of matching patterned paper, both from Imagine That! Digis by Kris, in anticipation of this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Contest.
This morning all I needed to do was fussy cut the digi image, add some liquid glass to the eyes, cut the sentiment into 3 pieces and attach it to the matching patterned paper, cut and emboss matching cs, add some enamel embellishments and a bow.  And voila' - a quick and easy birthday card.
The digi set is called Owl with Robin.

Challenges I am entering:
Mojo Monday Contest 464

Creative Playground Challenge #8 - Easy as 1,2,3 (I used 1 bow, 2 triangle green enamel squares, and cut the sentiment in 3 pieces.)

Crafting When We Can Challenge #127 - Happy Birthday

Have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by.

Basketball Time

From April into October my DH and I faithfully attend our grandsons baseball and soccer games.  Last evening Matthew surprised everyone, including himself, by scoring 6 points in his first basketball game of the season.  His team won 12-8.  And this morning, very early this morning, Nick rang up 2 baskets before the refs called the game because of all the water on the court, dripping from the roof as the morning frost melted.  His team also won 22-8.  What wonderful confidence boosters to start their seasons!

You might be thinking I have a
great basketball card to show you today.
Nope!
Just thought I'd share.

Today I have a Christmas card using this month's DOTM set, Happy Howlidays, from Imagine That! digis by Kris.
I used the precolored images.
I am entering the December SOTM Challenge at Imagine That! and a few additional challenges:

Oh my!  I just remembered I have a DT card to make for this coming Tuesday.  Back to the craft table!

Imagine That Mistletoe Kitty & CTMH Class 10/13/15

Thanks to Kris at Imagine That and my CTMH consultant, Joyce Houck, I've added 5 more Christmas cards to the pile.
The adorable digi set, Mistletoe Kitty, was sent free to all participants in the September DOTM Challenge at Imagine That for use in the October DOTM Challenge.  For this card I've used the precolored image, just adding a bit of white flock to the hat, liquid glass to the kitty's eyes for gloss and some gold Wink of Stella glitter to the bell.
The sentiment is also from the digi set.

I'll be entering this card in these additional challenges:
A Snowflake's Promise Challenge #7 - Anything Goes Christmas or Winter
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Early Holiday Wishes 4 Kids

 **************
Yesterday was our weekly CTMH Card Class at Joyce's. Here are the 4 cards we made.
(The first two cards below are ones I taught at the stamping show this past week-end.
Our next show is Nov. 7th & 8th in Edison, NJ)
A penny spinner card.

I added the package here at home.

Isn't this pretty with both the gold and silver embossing?

Card front of 4th card.

Inside of 4th card.
Joyce's Joyful Stars Blog Hop just went live on Friday.  You can check out some more great CTMH cards here.  My favorites this month are Crystal's bendy foldy card with the new Sangria paper, Nancy's steampunk spider card, and Andrea's layout featuring a really neat owl.

Imagine That! August Challenge

It's coming down to the wire for entering the Imagine That! August Challenge.  This month's free digital set is Beach Blanket Girl.  I've used the precolored background and beach umbrella, but I colored the girl with markers.  Kris has also posted a freebie on the challenge blog to get you started in this progressive challenge, in case you've never played before.  But hurry!  To get next month's set for free you must submit an entry before August 28th.
Here's mine:

I thought I'd make the card look like part of a old scrapbook page by adhering the image to glossy white photo paper before securing it under the punched corners and then hand writing the caption.  Hard to believe, but in 1970 I was a bikini babe.  Only there wasn't quite as much to my bikinis or as much of me!  I even had one bikini I hand crocheted with special yarn that wouldn't stretch when it got wet!  And in that beach bag there was always one bottle with peroxide and lemon juice and another with baby oil and iodine.
I hope you can see, in the second picture, that the inside sentiment pops up when you open the card.
Very easy to do, with just 2 cuts of the paper and an extra fold.

This bathing beauty will also be making appearances in the following challenges:
Eclectic Ellapu August Challenge (pink team) - By the Sea

Robyn's Fetish Challenge #278 - Use a Digi
Crafts for Eternity Challenge Recipe #240 - Summer
Creative Corner Challenge - At the Beach
Fun Day Friday Challenge #102 - Lazy Days of Summer
The Stamping Boutique Challenge - At the Beach!

More summer calories!

Last evening I made the yummiest peach crisp, topped with vanilla ice cream.  It's so hard to resist all the wonderful fresh fruits and veggies that are just beginning to hit the farm stands.
Luckily there are no calories in this slice of pie...

one of the digis in the "Treat Stand" set available at Imagine That digis by Kris for use in the Imagine That July Digi of the Month Challenge.  The fun thing about this set is that it also includes Christmas treats and sentiments, so you can start those Christmas cards.  And, of course, if you use the set and enter the challenge, you get next month's set for free.

Additional challenges I am entering today.....
Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge July 8-14 - Ice Cream  (Pie is so much better with that scoop of ice cream on top!)
House of Cards July Challenge - Food and/or Colors

Have a great day everyone!
and
Thanks for dropping by!
