Loose ends

I had a couple cards on the table in various stages of completion.  I thought I'd do some tidying up and finish them this morning.

Here's card # 1:

This is one of my very favorite stamps, also the first house mouse stamp I bought.  It caught my eye because of the hummingbird.  I've been collecting hummingbird objects for almost 20 years.  I remember going to a museum in Arizona that had a hummingbird room.  You could just sit there and they flew all around you.  Their nests were so tiny.  What an experience!  Don't see them very often in PA, but once in a while.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Dynamic Duos # 40 -  Black & Tie Color Combo (clouds optional)
Perfect Sentiments - PSC 66 - Furry Friendship
House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #HMFMC138 - I love you sew much!
The House That Stamps Built - DCC213 - Favorite Repeat Impressions Stamp
Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge (SC021313)

Above and Beyond Club 2/16/2013

We began club yesterday morning by enjoying a piping hot, absolutely delicious French Toast casserole.  After which, Joyce showed us the wonderful project she had in mind for us.  This was followed by a resounding  'oh yeah, we like that'  and the fun began!  We sorted through stamps to make our choices, changed our minds several times,  exchanged advise,  and discussed to whom we might give our creations.

Here's mine:
The Close to My Heart products sure make the Dollar Store Frame look good, don't you think?

Remember the song 'Silhouette on the Shade'?

I used to love that song.  I suppose I'm giving away my age.  At least I can remember most of the song, dispite my age.  Anyway, I was reminded of the song by the current challenge theme at The Shabby Tea Room- Sweet Silhouette.  I combined their theme with the theme at Sweet Stamps - Romance, included butterflies and hearts for the current Flutterby Wednesday #227 Challenge and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches # 223 to create this card:

Blinded by the White

No we are not experiencing blizzard conditions in Pennsylvania.
I just have another White on White card to show you today.

This card was made especially for the current Simon Says ... White on White Challenge.
I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and will also be submitting this card to their Challenge #185.

Fast Friday

Watching the grandsons today.  They walked in the door and dropped a pile of various boxes on the living room floor.  Then they proudly presented me with a book on how to make things out of boxes.  Matt wanted to make a banjo and Nick a basketball hoop.

I did manage to sneak in a quick card.
I used the color combination from The Paper Players Challenge # 132.

and the sketch from The Sweet Shop SSS197.

to make this 'Hero' card for Operation Write Home.

Take a peek

inside this card.

The current challenge at Fab N Funky ( 158) is What's Inside.  It  coincides perfectly with the Twisted Thursday Challenge at Outlawz (TT021413)  since the twist is to make a card with a window.  And I might as well enter it in Through the Craftroom Door, since it just seems fitting.

Happy Valentine's Day

My DH and I celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday.  We spent all afternoon in beds together.  Beds is not a typo.  We went mattress shopping and spent ALL afternoon in and out of one bed after another and another and another.  We both came home with back aches, the very thing we are trying to eliminate by buying a new mattress.   We went out for dinner (didn't eat it out, but bought it out - if I don't have to cook or do dishes I am happy)  And for dessert we shared our one remaining Mallow Cup.  Ahhhhh....

I hope all of you have a Valentine's Day to your liking, as we did!

In keeping with the occasion, here is a card to all my Friends and Followers (and a few challenges.)

A special thank you to Sherri Baldi for this adorable Bestie Image.  I was ill Mon in the middle of the night and while I waited for the room to stop spinning I stumbled upon her blog and found her adorable images.  By the time I went through her blog from start to finish, I was feeling inspired if not better.

The Challenges include:
Besties Challenge # 5 - include some pink
The Cuttle Bug Spot
Craft Your Passion Challenges 149 - My Valentine
Oldie but a Goodie - Red and Pink
ABC16 "Color Challenge" - Red, Pink, White/Vanilla
Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge Blog - Challenge 39 - All About Love
Papertake Weekly - Hearts and Flowers
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 177

and
The Old Back Porch - 52 Card Pickup 5.2 - which inspired me to combine all these challenges.

It really is a challenge combining themes, colors, a sketch, and including required images and sentiments, as well as following the rules of each challenge and entering by the required date.  I may have to go try out some more beds this afternoon!
