Holiday Chaos Celebration at Catch the Bug Dec 3rd + CTMH Workshop

For Day # 3 of the week long Holiday Celebration at Catch the Bug Blog the theme is Cozy Up By the Fire.

You are to choose how you enjoy unwinding during the holidays and follow the recipe associated with it.  For example, I chose Fuzzy Blanket & a Fire  and the recipe for that is Use Texture and at LEAST 3 layers.  And they supplied an adorable little mouse digi which I used on my card:

Yesterday was Joyce's weekly card workshop and we made a nice selection of Christmas cards.
It was nice to see Eileen and Barbara there.  They've been MIA lately.

When I returned home, I ventured into the crawl space to retrieve our disassembled, artificial Christmas tree.  It only took 5 trips in and out of the crawl space, which I accomplished without hitting my head on a joist, breaking the bare light bulb hanging in my path (I can't tell you how many times I've done that.), or whacking my back as I stood up after going through the 3 ft high door.

Let the assembly begin!

(after I post another card)

First Mojo of December

The first Mojo Monday Challenge of the month is always important because there is a prize!  I love prizes!  Not that I've ever won the Mojo Monday prize, but I'm always hopeful.

This week I used some Close to My Heart Wonderland paper and a CTMH stamp called Bright All Night.  I added some glitter gel to accent the snow and snowflakes.  All the layers were distressed with Twilight ink.  I embossed the blue strip in the middle with snowflakes and sanded the edges  so they popped a bit more.  Finally I added a sheer white quadruple bow, which I made on my
Craft-Dee Bowz Tool.

Of course, I was following this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #322

so I could enter the card in their challenge.  Maybe this will be my lucky week????

Today I'm also entering this card in 2 other challenges:
The Paper Players Challenge # 174 - Evergreen Theme from LeAnne
and
Crafting When We Can Challenge #58 - Winter

I made a couple more cards this morning that I'll post separately.
Hope you have time to check them out, also.

I sure would love to have 100 followers for Christmas.  (Hint! Hint!)

O Christmas Tree

I suppose it's time to think about venturing into the land of spiders to retrieve our artificial Christmas Tree from the crawl space under the house.  As I am less than 5 ft. tall, there is no actual crawling involved.  Caution, however, is required.  I once hit my head on one of the joists, knocked myself right on my derriere, and watched the room spin for a while.  It was then that I wondered how long I might remain in the crawl space had I totally knocked myself out before anyone would discover my spiderweb covered body.  Not relishing the prospect, I am much more respectful of those head crushing joists and a bit less anxious to enter into the depths of our house.

To get myself in the Christmas Tree spirit, I've made this card is for the November Recipe Challenge at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  The recipe includes 1 ribbon, 2 layers, and 3 papers.  I've used a new Bugaboo digi called Make It Snappy - O Christmas Tree.

And these are the other challenges into which I am entering this card:
2 Sisters Challenge # 172 - Anything Goes
52 Christmas Card Throwdown November Challenge - Pick a Previous Theme (Sept 2013- Trees)
Allsorts Challenge Week 235 - Inspired by a Christmas Song or Carol (O Christmas Tree)
My Sheri Craft Challenge #124 - Funky Christmas
Cards in Envy - Punch It! Challenge
Jo's Scrapshack Fun Friday Challenge #28 - Get in the Spirit!
Stampin for the Weekend Challenge - Feeling Festive
Totally Papercrafts Challenge #195 - Ho, Ho, Holidays
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #72 - Anything Goes with Ribbons

Well, the card making didn't inspire me to drag out the tree.  Maybe a local Christmas Concert will.

CTMH 12 card Workshop 11/25/13

Using some scraps of retired CTMH paper I found while clearing the dining room table for Thanksgiving dinner, I made up this Christmas card to add to the stack waiting to be addressed and sent out.  I fussy cut the stamped ornaments and hung them from the card with gold embroidery thread.  I specifically put 8 dots of red glitter gel on the flowers of the DP so I could enter the card in the CASual Fridays Challenge #121, which requires that you use 8 of something on your card.
(stamps, glitter gel and papers are all CTMH products)

I am also entering the card in the following challenges:
Vintage Stamping Challenge #14 - Traditional Christmas Time
Crafting by Designs Challenge - Christmas/Winter
Crafty Little Fairies Challenge - Classic Christmas (Red, Green, Gold)
Color My Heart Color Dare #71 - Ponderosa Pine and Cranberry

Monday night Joyce had a 12 card workshop featuring the new Sparkle and Shine paper from Close to My Heart and the chipboard elements
that match.
Here are the 12 cards we made.

We used all the pieces in the compliments package with the exception of those shown below.  I'm sure I'll find a home for them.

It was a whirlwind 2 hours of fun.  Thanks, Joyce.
