Gerde's June Digi goes Mojo

Yes, I'm still using the Mojo Monday Sketch.  I am determined to win this challenge and I'm also going to dust today (maybe in my dreams!)  Yesterday I received Gerde's June Digi and my first thought was 'the gingham dog and calico cat'.  I did a little research because I couldn't remember the poem about the two. It's not a very pleasant poem, as the dog and cat in the poem tear each other to shreds.   Rather than going to the dark side with my card, I decided to make it a happy card suitable for any number of occasions.

I scalloped the bottom edge of the front card base to blend the embossing pattern,  rounded corner of the sketch and the scalloped square.  Then I also added a green scalloped edge to the inside of the card base so it would show at the bottom and to liven up the inside a bit.  The dog, cat, and heart(a CTMH stamp) are all paper pieced.  The front sentiment and bling are CTMH.  I added whiskers to the cat with a fine marker.  (All cats have whiskers, except one of my childhood pets who fell victim to my scissors.  I started crafting at an early age, not always successfully.)  My I'm feeling witty!  My apologies.

Here are the challenges I am entering today:
Sailing Pineapple Challenge #5 - All Creatures Great and Small
Cutie Pie Challenge #70 - Emboss It, but keep it Cute
Digi Sketch Challenge- Sketch and/or Theme...Use a Stamp
Love to Scrap Challenge #31 - Mind Your Banners!

Perhaps dusting would bring me luck.  I could give it a try.  The worst that could happen is that I'd obliterate an important note or phone number written on one of the tables.

OK so I dusted, vacuumed, and mopped the kitchen floor.  Then made fish for dinner so my house doesn't smell like Spic and Span.  Maybe tomorrow I'll make a few more Mojo cards to increase my odds of winning.  Nah, enough is enough.  Mom and I are headed to the mall!

Some Wednesday Mojo For OWH + CTMH Card Workshop 6/3/14

This 'Any Hero' card for Operation Write Home follows this week's sketch for Mojo Monday's Contest #348.
(I usually only make one card for MM but I'd really like to increase my chances of winning since there is a prize the first Monday of the month.  Like that's gonna happen!)

(The HERO stamp is from SU; the rest are from CTMH.)

This fun digi image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry.
This is a total 'made from my stash' card.  Normally I'd put some thread in the buttons, but those butterflies are just too tiny.

Pippy the Pup goes Mojo

This adorable image was a Wednesday Freebie at Spyder's Corner several weeks ago.  Although he's no longer available there, you can find him here at Spyder's Other Corner, Dragonsmoore.

Pippy is making his debut on my blog for today's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge # 348.

I've used markers to color him; a thick layer CTMH liquid glass to give the shine to the balloons; a punch for the red circle; a die cut for the blue one; CTMH waxy flax in the button; white flock for the pom pom on his hat; and a carefully placed embossing folder for the 'happy'.

Pippy will be making an appearance an as entry in the following challenges:
Lady Bug Crafts June Challenge - Something for the boys and/or use a die cut
Natalie's and Amy's Challenge #21 - Four-legged Friends

Now what else should I do today?
Retirement and a vary laid back husband are wonderful things!

Flowers in a Pot

The current challenge theme at Digi Haven is Flowers in Pots.  It took me a while to search through my digi folders, but I finally found this freebie image from Just Some Lines.  I teamed it up with some CTMH Dream Pop papers and a sentiment to create this card.

I got the card finished and in the mailbox just minutes before my 2 grandsons arrived for a day at Nana's and Papa's, which is why I didn't get it posted yesterday.  I did, however, get some flowers planted, make some cupcakes, play baseball, help with several craft projects, take a trip to the bookstore, answer lots of questions, act as referee for several brother battles, and fall into bed exhausted.

I am entering this card in these challenges:
Digi Haven Challenge - Flowers in Pots
Jellypark Friday Challenge - Bold and Bright
Sister Act Card Challenge #59 - Anything Goes
Southern Girls Challenge #91 - Sparkle and Shine with a Bit of Bling
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #97 - Make Your Mark (I've used markers and pencils to color this image)
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #65 - Use 3 Flowers
Crafty Creations Challenge #264 - It's all about "S" (I've used a Scalloped oval; Sheer ribbon; and faux Stitching)
HobbyBook Designer Challenge - Show Us at least 3 Flowers

Where did I put that stamp????

It often amazes me the things I find when I'm searching for something else in my stash.  For example, yesterday I came across a K & Company Die Cut Mat Pad.  When/where did I get that?  Flipping through it, I found this sheet of paper which I immediately decided to use because I have the perfect stamp for inside.
One problem, now I can't find the stamp.  But, I did find a paper punch in the back of one drawer.  It also falls into the category of  'When/where did I get that?'.  I picked up a piece of scrap white CS on the table and punched it a few times, which was the beginning of another card....  (sort of like the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie").

Sentiment is a CTMH stamp.

I am entering this card in these fun challenges:
Scrapbooker PHD Challenge #11 - Use your Die Cuts  (I've used Spellbinders dies.)
Cards in Envy Challenge - Winged Things
Craft Room Challenge - Things with Wings
Artistic Inspirations Challenge - Anything Goes, Twist: Things with Wings

Eureka!  I found the stamp for the inside!  It was right on the table in front of me.  Duh!  But wait until you see the card I made with the punch I found while searching.

Sure am glad I checked My Favorite Blogs today.  DeeDee's Digis is having a New Store Grand Opening!  There's an adorable freebie available and a super discount code you can use when you visit.  I love her digis and always enjoy participating in the monthly progressive challenge. Some of my bestest crafting pals are on her DT, so there's always great inspiration.  Do go have a look-see!  Tell her it you got the tip from Debi B.

Help spread the word!
