Wheely Cute Cards at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog

For the current challenge at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog, I've made a set of 3 CAS cards.
Our wonderful sponsor, Taylored Expressions, gave all DT members a petite stamp set of their choice and I chose the Taylored Expressions Petite Stamp Set Wheely Great with Coordinating Die.  Since the set came with 3 stamps, 3 sentiments, and the VW die, I thought I'd make a set of 3 cards so you could see them all.  No fussy cutting needed with this set.

Taylored Expressions is awarding one lucky challenge winner a petite stamp set of their choice.  I hope you head on over to the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog and check out the other great cards the DT members madeAnd you might want to take a look at the great sets available in the Taylored Expressions store.  That should give you plenty of inspiration when you are making your card for

Yo Ho Ho!

In celebration of World Card Making Day Deedee's Digis made this adorable set of digis available for free
and there is a special World Card Making Day Challenge on her blog into which I am entering this card.
I feel as though I cheated because I used the precolored image, but it is so doggone cute just the way it is.  I did print it twice so I could pop the hat and parrot.

I am also entering this card in the

Origami Tree + Create with TLC # 8

Yesterday I was working on a sample for Joyce's and Betty's Close to My Heart booth at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival in York, PA next week-end (Oct. 11 & 12).  Tuesday I begged one sheet of the CTMH Snowhaven Paper from Joyce to make a few items.   I thought the ornament I posted yesterday turned out pretty nicely.  My next project was to see how the paper worked up when making an origami tree, which is always a show favorite.   I'm "fairly" certain I'll be teaching a card with this tree at the Make and Take table.
I wish you could see how shiny it is.  I gave it a good spritz of Sparkle Shimmer Spritz.

This card is being entered in these challenges:
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #197 - Something with a "p" (patterned paper folded into lots of points)
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #297 - Embossing

Getting Ready + Create with TLC Image #7

Next Week-end (Oct. 11 & 12) there is an Heirloom Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival in York, PA.  My friends and CTMH consultants, Joyce and Betty, will be setting up a Close to My Heart booth and I get to go along to teach the Make & Takes.  We're not sure what we are making yet, so I've been playing with ideas and making samples.  Today I made this folded wreath Christmas ornament to see how it would look using the new CTMH Snowhaven Paper.

No, I do not have my Christmas tree up.  I hung the ornament on one of our front bushes.  Worked for me!
Here's a picture of the back...
This is only a 10 point wreath.  We usually make them 12 points.  But 10 works fine, too.  I inserted a 2 1/4" circle with a stamped snowflake (stamp set from the Frosted Cardmaking Workshop; cranberry ink) into the center before it was totally assembled.
The banner and overlay are on the CTMH Artiste Cartridge.  Both sentiments are from the Pear and Partridge Cardmaking Workshop.  I curved the stamp onto the acrylic block so it would match the shape of the banner.  Here's a hint for doing that.  When I cut the overlay I saved the center section that was left on the cricut adhesive sheet.  Since that is the size and shape of the opening where I wanted to stamp my sentiments, it was perfect for checking to see if I had the stamp aligned on the block correctly.
I used a few tiny dots of Liquid Glass on the overlay to glue it to the white banner, then stamped.  The banner is hung from the wreath with black waxy flax, which CTMH has retired for some unknown reason.  I haven't seen another product like it.  I also used it for the ornament hanger.  Finally I added a cranberry bow and a blue sparkle on the snowflake.  How do you like it?

Now I'm off to see how an origami tree would look using the same paper.

This project is being entered in the following challenges:
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #143 - Buntings and Banners

Flip Fold Friendship Card + Create with TLC Image #6

I'm really loving the Scrapbook Blessings Blog because they spotlight a lot of different card folds, and I love card folds.  The current challenge is featuring a Flip Fold Card.

I cut a flower from the DP, popped it and tucked the top portion of the card behind it to keep it closed.)

The DP is dry embossed.  That's washi tape across the top.
Inside of card when unfold

Back of card when unfolded.
The owl stamps belong to a friend who graciously let me use them.  I'm not sure of the brand.

I'm still busy making cards for Create with TLC's Progressive Freebie Party for World Cardmaking Day.  Since my DH loves to play golf, I was excited to see this digi image.
Here's the card I made:
I really like the new double-sided Paper Fundamentals from CTMH, same design on each side and one is glossy.  I won a few sheets at Joyce's CTMH Christmas Card Extravaganza (you can see the cards we made here) and thought this green went perfectly with the golf theme.  I have my eye on a few more packs of this paper.  I especially love the Whimsy (soft colors) and Basics (black and browns) assortments.

Since everything on this card is CTMH except the digi image, I am entering it in the Take Heart Ideas October Challenge.
This card has also been submitted to:

I know they say it never rains on the golf course but is that true of soccer fields too?  My 8 yr old grandson had a game at 8:30 this morning that apparently wasn't cancelled (since by DH has not returned yet) and it's been raining steadily since last evening.  I refused to go in the rain.  Those poor kids will be so soaked!  I certainly hope my other grandson's baseball game at 9:30 was cancelled or that white uniform will never be the same!

Create with TLC Image #5

The World Cardmaking Day Progressive Freebies Party at Create with TLC Digitals started last Saturday.  That means I should really be on Image #7.  But I didn't get started until Tuesday, so I'm trying my best to get caught up.  Here is the card I made to go with the adorable digi of 3 kitties out to play...

Now I'm going to quickly run the vacuum while my DH is out mowing the leaves that are just starting to fall.

I might be back later to add a few challenges.

And here I am, avoiding dinner dishes.

Here are a few challenges for this card:
Words 2 Scrap By Challenge #10 - Paved with Paw Prints
Hobbybook  Designer Challenge - Include an Animal
Anything Goes With a Twist Challenge #1-  Anything Goes; Twist- Anything Goes

Create with TLC Image #4

For this card I've combined the digi image from TLC with a Penny Black stamp and some great Graphic 45 paper I was fortunate to win in one of the Pumpkin Spice Freebie Friday contests.

Both die cuts were made using Spellbinders dies, then edged using an embossing pen and heat embossed with SNS Antiquities EP.  The sentiment was also heat embossed.  I colored the image with markers before fussy cutting and mounting on the die cut.  I left off the ribbons and bling to keep this card relatively masculine.

I'll be adding this card to the party in celebration of World Card Making Day at Create withTLC.

I'm also entering this card in the following:
Sparkle n Sprinkle October Challenge - Anything Goes with glitter, flocking or embossing powder
So Artful Challenges - The Motor Car
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Just for Men
