Guest Design Card for Crafting by Designs

Three stamped tea cups, three strips of black satin ribbon, and three little red blings in the corner = 3 of something x 3.  And, it just so happens that the theme this week at Crafting by Designs is Three of Something.  As a September Spotlight Winner, I was invited to join their wonderful design team (they chose my card; they must be wonderful) and create something for their fun challenge.

The tea cup stamp is from Stampin' Up, the steam swirl and "Thanks" stamps are from CTMH.  The DP is also from CTMH, but it started out as black and white with a bit of gray.  Then I decided to make it match the cups by sponging the entire piece with the same ruby ink that I used for the cups.  I liked it!  Then I thought I'd add some texture by embossing it.  After that I had to add a just bit more color because some of the white paper core broke through from the embossing.  With the black satin ribbon, I think it makes a pretty classy thank you card.

Day #17 - CASE Yourself + AHSC

Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards is up to Day #17.  

This is a perfect time to show you a card I CASEd from myself, and shared with my little group of Red Hat Cardmakers.

I had to change up the DP from the original because I needed enough to cut for 9 cards all the same.  Usually, we make all red & purple cards, but for this class I promised the gals Christmas cards in red and green.

The nativity stamp is by Prickly Pears; the sentiment stamps by CTMH; the border punch is Fiskars; the circle die cuts are by Oh La La; and the bow on the card front is from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

I just got an idea on how to use this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  It's a doozie!

I noticed some grumblings among the ranks about this sketch, but I think this will work for AHSC #134.  I used 4 CTMH stamp sets  for the various snowflakes and sentiments.

Thanks, Karen, for the wonderful stitched snowflake die cut.

The closeup is to show the Frost Shimmer Mist I sprayed on the card.

 Now I MUST get ready for this afternoon's card class.

Sometimes ya jus' gotta do what 'cha gotta do.  

The theme for Day # 16 at Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards is Watercolours.  

 After stamping and clear embossing this poinsettia from Sparkle n Sprinkle, I pulled out Matty's Crayola set and watercolored it.  Then using a waterbrush and the ink inside the lid of my CTMH ruby ink pad, I added a bit more color near the center.  In the very center are teeny tiny glass beads.  And the whole image got a good coat of sparkle spray mist, before it was fussy cut and adhered to the embossed dp.  I was hoping you could see the sparkle in this closeup photo.

 
The white sentiment and red background cuts are from the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.  

The sentiment is, also, CTMH.

This Christmas tree, a CTMH stamp, has been decorated with red and clear gems, the flowers from the punched border, a stamped star covered with gold Wink of Stella glitter, and a Merry Christmas banner.  It has also been entered in the Month of Holiday Cards at Beccy's Place.

And here's a bonus card using the negative from the green cricut cut tree (which you can barely see around the edges of the stamped tree) used in my first card.   It's a 'cleanup' card.  I often make them when attempting to clean up my table, rather than finding a home for the scraps.

Day #14 Holly Card

The Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place continues with a Holly theme for Day #14.  Beccy has a beautiful card on her blog for inspiration.  My card is relatively simple.  I've used some pretty holly paper, a digi image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps, and a pretty gold holly sprig which one of my friends gave me.

Well, it's Craft Show season.  Time to get ready.  My mother, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter have a schedule of places we'd like to visit today.  We've been doing this together for 40 years, adding Gaby to the group 22 years ago, and little Laila just last year.   

Had to have it!

While I was at the stamping show this past weekend, I just couldn't resist buying this cute Owl from Stampendous. 

The stamp actually says Harvest Wishes, but I substituted Thank You by simply covering the sentiment circle on the stamp, with a die cut of the same size and stamped Thank You on it.  I figure I can use this stamp for just about any occasion.  I added a piece of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and a few caramel colored Skittles.  I also added some Liquid Glass (by CTMH) to the eyes and nose to give them a nice glossy look.
