Joyful Stars August Close to My Heart Blog Hop

 photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpg
Welcome to the Joyful Stars August blog hop,
where a group of talented Close to My Heart consultants,
and me
gather to share ideas with you in a fun blog hop.

Everyone sharing ideas on this hop (except me) is a consultant.  They are all excited about the new products in the new 2016-2017 Close to My Heart Catalog.  Unfortunately, I can't share the new products with you until next month, because I don't have any yet.   But, as of August 1st,  anyone can order from the new catalog,  (plus there is a great special for this month.and I do have my eye on a couple of items.

For this month's hop, I'm sharing a double gate fold card using a sheet of paper from the Happy Times paper pack which was a CTMH special a few months ago.  I think this is the prettiest sheet of paper in the pack.
The flowers are cuts on the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.
If you like flowers, you'll be heaven with the new CTMH Cricut Flower Market cartridge now available.
Now, since this is a blog hop you might have arrived here
Your next stop is Nancy Brown's blog.  The hop is circular.  So if you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back, making the full circle.  If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on Joyce Houck's blog

Challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - More than 1 fold
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge - Flowers
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge - Always Anything Goes
Inky Chicks Challenge #70 - 5 or more flowers

AHSC # 172 It kind of looks like a boat?

Interesting is how I'd describe the sketch today at
To me it sort of resembles a boat.
I'm imagining being out on a whale watching vessel and
actually seeing a whale.
Whale hello there!
So, I went with that idea.

It is also a perfect sketch for using up some scraps.  Then I thought, why not use the colors from the current Color Dare ChallengeAnd, I happen to have lots of pieces of the CTMH Fundamental papers in those colors, because I love it and refuse to waste a bit! (Really, when you dovetail a banner, do you save the little triangle?  It's that bad!
 Love those papers!!!)

I can't wait until Wednesday when the DT at AHSC posts their cards to see what they did with this sketch.

Challenges:

Well, that was fun!
Speaking of fun....

The CTMH Joyful Stars August Blog Hop
starts Wednesday, August 10th.
Hope to see you then!

Mojo Monday Sketch #460

Today I'm working on some birthday cards for a few of my Red Hat friends.  It's always nice to have the Mojo Monday Sketch for inspiration on a Monday morning.
(The stamps I used are by CTMH and the circle cut is on the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.)

Challenges:

One card finished.
Now I think I'll head over to
to see their sketch for this week.

Chin Up! Shaker Card

When you have wash on the line and storms are forecasted, keeping your chin up and your eyes toward the sky is a really good idea.  Unfortunately, it makes it a bit difficult to do much else.  If it wasn't so hot, I'd take my book outside.  (Have you read The Great Alone by Janet Dailey?  It's pretty good so far, if you like historical fiction.)  But, I have a pretty good view out the kitchen window from here.  So, I'll do my post for today - a cute shaker card using a Gerda Steiner digi image Cute Fox
for the GSD August Progressive Challenge - and keep one eye on the sky.
I was trying to land a butterfly on the fox's nose for the picture but gave up.  The digi image was colored with markers.  Papers, sentiment stamps and wood trinkets are from CTMH.  The butterflies in the shaker were punched.  And the die cut frame is by Die-namics.
Challenges:
Star Stampz Challenge - Add a sentiment
Just Add Ink Challenge #33 - just add "f"  (Fox)
Allsorts Challenge Week 375 - Spots and Stripes

Well, the sun's still out.
Maybe, the showers will miss us
or arrive after the wash has dried.

Sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  Papers are CTMH.

Mojo Monday Card #2

What do you do when you put adhesive tape on the wrong side of a piece of double sided dp?  And it's not the kind of tape that has a piece of paper covering the adhesive.  It's the kind that comes out of a tape runner, so the stickiness is just there, exposed, ready to grab onto anything and everything.
Well, I made a second Mojo Monday Sketch # 459 Contest Card.
(Roller Coaster and Sentiment Stamps and Papers by CTMH)
Challenges:
Crafting by Designs Challenge - Anything Goes
Stampavie and more Challenge #268 - Blue
Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #282 - Summer Activities (riding a roller coaster) - Ticket and overlay are cuts from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge
Get Creative Challenges #44 - Lots of Blue

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #305 with Robyn's Fetish

I hope you'll be able to play along and maybe win one of their lovely digital designs.

Featured on my DT card is A Little Birdie Told Me, a digital stamp from Robyns Fetish Stamp Shop.
I've chosen to use items from the Tic Tac Board in a diagonal from lower left to upper right:  Flowers, Marker, and Ribbon.

I hope you'll join us this week at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.
