Before retiring I worked in an office routing and scheduling school buses.  This was before computer software was designed for this purpose.  This was the time of year when I would have gladly traded my job for just about anything!  With the current pandemic and all the scenarios the schools are dealing with,  I'm certain the transportation offices, as well as the teachers and those in charge are going crazy and do not envy them one little bit!

For Dad Fishing Card

I seem to be "hooked" on making cards For Dad right now.  They are for my cousin's Dad's birthday and I like to give her a small selection.  And, I have a feeling, her brother will use one, too.

This fabulous fishing themed paper was in my stash.

I cased the design of the card from one I saw on Pinterest.  Considering I couldn't find a tutorial for measurements, I think it got pretty good.  

The tag is a die cut from Paper Sweeties.  Before distressing, I stamped around the edges with a SU fish hook stamp and added the For You, Dad from the same SU set. 
 

This is the second pocket I made and is just a quarter inch wider than the first one.  With that little bit of extra width and by adhering it to the shirt with 1/8" red line tape on the edges of both sides and the bottom, the pocket will hold a gift card, while the tag slips through the piece across the top.

Sketches Make It Easy

The card I made for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge turned into a masculine birthday card.  What do you think?  The Birthday Boy is almost, but not quite, 80!

Here's the sketch for this week and my card.

The circles are Sizzix and LaLaLand Die Cuts.  Black glitter paper spiders and vellum spider web are Cricut cuts on the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  Stamped sentiment is also CTMH.

Double Trouble Challenge # 66

This birthday card is for a guy who, according to the inside sentiment, isn't over the hill, just on top enjoying the view.  I'm entering this in the new challenge at Double Trouble, which is why I made a scene, included a mode of transportation, and will also enter it in The Paper Players Challenge.

The sentiment is a CTMH stamp, the bear is a from Stacey Stamps, and the balloons are from Hampton Art.

It just so happens that I was asked to be a guest this month at

  Catch the Bug Challenge, 

which means this post is doing double duty. 

 

I love using Bugaboo digi images for the kid friendly cards I send to my SAS4K volunteer.  They are so fun and well received by the children who are patients in children's hospitals.  In fact, I think everyone smiles when they see these cute digis.

This image is called Bobblehead Witch Fly By.

 

The witch was colored with markers.  I used a punch on the corners.  The orange enamel dots were originally light pink, but an orange marker fixed that.

Triple cube card

 It may look difficult, but is really very easy.  The directions were in this week's SCS Weekly Inkling.  Would you believe there are only 4 scores? The question I always have is - how will the recipient know how to unfold the card so that it will look like this?  My DH thinks I should enclose a picture.

Not bad for my first try.

I made it simple intending to send it to my 10 year old nephew, at least I think he's 10, maybe he's only 9.  Whatever.  Now my brain is thinking of how I could make this style card and really dress it up with die cuts, flowers, ribbons, bling.....
