Loud, Bright and Bold

Background Personality is the theme for Challenge #156 at

Double Trouble Challenge.

Challenge #156 "Background Personality" Choose Soft/Pastel or Bold/Bright

This would be a card to Twisted Sister's liking, with a background that is  Loud, Bold, and Bright.  The cards I make for someone else I try to create to suit them.  The gal who will receive this is definitely an extrovert.

These papers and stick-ons are from an old Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin kit.  The sentiment is also a SU stamp.

And the layout is a sketch from

which I am also entering.

Last Minute Money Holders

 It's the day before Christmas.

There is plenty to do.

And here I am blogging,

Have I lost a screw?

The cookies are baked.

But the house is a mess.

There are presents to wrap.

Still I'm feeling no stress.

No, I haven't been drinking.

Just a nice cup of tea.

I took time out to craft.

Now I'm fine as can be.

My husband he chuckled

as he rolled a bill.

Why not use an envelope,

like most people will?

Merry Christmas to all of my friends in Blogland.

Everyone else.... they just won't understand!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #737

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card to share with you each week for

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week there is no sketch.

It is our Annual Anything Goes Challenge.

You can create any type of craft project you would like.

I know that my niece is going to love this birthday card with bookmark.

I've used a digital image from Gecko Gals and dies from Spellbinders. The Happy Birthday was cut from glitter paper.
My grand-niece has a birthday 2 weeks after her mother's.  So I made her a similar card.

**This challenge will run for 2 weeks from 12/19-12/31**
Then we will have a break
and the first challenge of 2024
will begin on 1/2/24.

The theme of the Gecko Gals December Challenge is Winter Elegance.

I'm hoping the card above is elegant enough to fit the theme.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #736

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card to share with you each week for

 Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch for this week:

And here's my card based on the sketch...

When I first saw the sketch, my mind immediately said 3 trees.  But I'm never one to do the obvious and decided on 3 snowmen instead.  Besides, this Penny Black stamp is so cute.  I stamped the snowmen on a piece of printable glitter paper using Staz-on ink and used markers to color them.

This is it!

If you've been following my blog the last few days, I've been working on a special card for a friend.  Here's the final version.

What do you think?

I added some swirly stamping and red splotches to the background paper, just for interest.  The candy cane and poinsettia are digital images from Beccy's Place.  I actually used 3 poinsettias so I could layers them using thin foam for dimension.  The spray of winter greens was die cut in white and I added touches of green with a water brush.  Then I added a couple dark green holly leaves.  And finally I used some frost spritz and some white paint drops.

I'm going to enter these challenges:

Beccy's Place December Challenge: AG with a BP image; optional fun fold

Double Trouble Challenge #155 - Die-cember (used my scissors for all that fussy cutting, included baker's twine and gold thread, also entered Use Your Stuff Challenge.

Use Your Stuff Challenge #481 - Wrap it up!

I can't decide if I should make one more version on a larger card base.  Does it look too crowded to you?

Thanks for visiting.

Another Candy Cane Card

As I mentioned yesterday, I printed quite a few Candy Cane digital images from Beccy's Place to make a special card inspired by one I had seen on Facebook.  This was my first attempt at that card but I did not like this background.  Instead, I changed things up a bit and used a bell digi, also from Beccy's Place.  Here are the results:

I like it but may add more gold thread after I enter it in a few challenges.
