April Fool's Day Hop

Here's my card for the April Fool's Day Boo Boo Blog Hop.  You can find all the details about the hop at djkardcreations blog.  I didn't notice the goof until after I had photographed the card.  And, normally, I would have fixed the card before posting it.  But then I remembered the blog hop!
Do you see the goof?
Are you wondering why I used peach as the contrasting color?
So, this is what happened....
I am on the design team at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge. This week's theme is 'add lace'.  We were sent some lovely samples of lace from Ribbon Resource and I got to work making my inspiration cards.  Usually, I make more than 1 and then decide which to post.
This card didn't make the cut.
I loved this beautiful lace trimmed ribbon and knew I had some gorgeous Graphic 45 paper that it would complement.  Thinking the lace bordering the velvet would be equally pretty bordering the card, I set to work dissecting the ribbon and gluing the lace to the edge of the card.  What I neglected to do....
was flip the card front over before adhering it to the peach card base and completing the card.

Isn't the flip side of this paper beautiful?
That's the side that should be showing under the bow.
The peach card base works with this side.
Now...the question is... do I try and lift the card front, the bow, and the sentiment and reglue it the proper way?  or do I add a strip of something to cover the cut edges of the lace?
While I am still trying to decide, I am entering this card in the April Fool's Big Fat Card Boo Boo Blog Hop, where I can take my rightful place among other crafty boobs.
There are already 20 crafty boobs in the hop.
I received such nice comments and encouragement from all the boobooers at the Hop, I thought I'd try fixing my card.  You can see it here.

  1. Pretty card!! BOTH sides of your paper are lovely!! I think it is a keeper - no one would ever know the oopsie but you!

  2. Ooops! I think I would trim out a peachy image from your original idea, and add it to the already pretty front you have. Maybe a flower or......may favorite "hide all" a butterfly.

  3. I've done this so many times it's ridiculous! I either forget to flip the paper, or adhere the image panel to the wrong side of the card so it opens on the left! LOL The paper really is beautiful and so is the ribbon. I know if it was me, I'd probably be taking this apart and trying to fix it, but a cover-up with some peach strips would be an easy fix too! TFS

  4. Isn't it awful when your boo boo spoils a card that was promising to be a beauty? But they don't just calls us crafters 'creative' because we create, I think it's also because we think of creative ways to disguise our boo boos! They say that, "necessity is the mother of invention", well I think that also applies to our 'mistakes, that need correcting! TFS! Hazel xx

  5. What beautiful paper.. it's not so bad.. I didn't see a problem till I read all the details :)

  6. Yep, been there, done that! Those are gorgeous papers and the card you were planning was fab! Contrasting colours are very fashionable at the moment, dochaknow! Cara x

  7. I think I see what you mean, but I think it looks cool~like stitching on the outside of a shirt (which is all the rage). Thanks for sharing~

  8. Your hint of peach is actually quite pretty here; sure caught my eye, in a very good way! As for the flip side of the paper: WOW! You've got a whole lot of pretty happening here! I think I'd be hoarding that paper...Thanks for sharing your crafty boobs with the rest of us *grin*

  9. I didn't get it until you pointed it out, but I saw the next post and really like your save!!!

  10. Its a beautiful card and I am struggling to see a mistake. Too pretty not to use as is.

  11. Well, I can see why you wanted the peach to go with the backside of the paper but really I think this works too! I like it!

  12. I'm late enough that I got to see the "after" before the "before," Debi, so I understand better what you were talking about because, Frank Lee, I really loved the "before" before I saw the after! Now I get it and see why you were a bit flustruated with it! (Gorgeous paper though, any way you look at it!) Happy April Fool's Day and thank you for playing in my first BFCBB Hop!! Hugs, Darnell

  13. Have to agree with everyone else Debi, your card is lovely, but it is frustrating when you set out with a plan and that paper is beautiful..oh well you'll have to make ANOTHER card...have a great weekend

  14. Been there done that but usually pretend I didn't and carry on regardless the recipient will never know ! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

  15. I think it looks lovely - you could cut off the card front and use it as a topper on a bigger card covered with the gorgeous floral side of the paper

  16. I like your card both ways...thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for saying hi.
