Scrap Happy

There was a small, homeless piece of purple polka dot paper and snippets of matching cs on my craft table.
Now they have a home.
All from scraps.

CASEing a Birthday Card

A group of us made this card at a crop this past winter.
All the layers make this card really interesting.  And that pop of yellow is so great against the black and white.
This afternoon I thought I'd CASE this card for one of my
Red Hat friends.

(This is the inside of the card.)

Just itching to show you....

the card I made for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

Actually, I'm just itchy, period.
I was out earlier doing some yard work and that always leaves me feeling itchy.  Who knows if any creepy crawlies fell out of the trees onto my head, or are crawling up the inside of my pant legs?  And writing about it makes it worse because now my back itches!

I have decided to distract myself by posting a card
and entering some challenges.
Here is the card:
The image stamp is by Sarah Kay and was colored with pencils.  The sentiment is CTMH.

And here are the challenges:
Mojo Monday Challenge #536: sketch (I took a little liberty with the sketch, changing the circles to ovals.)
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use dies and/or punches (I used dies for the scalloped ovals and the green scalloped borders.)

Sew Special Thank You Card

While most everyone is staying at home, there are a lot of sewing machines buzzing away.  I know that I pulled mine out to make a couple masks for my DH and me.
I was looking at a card on a blog, or Pinterest, or Facebook and it had a sewing theme.  That sent me digging in my bottom box of stamps and, sure enough, I found a set of sewing stamps that was a magazine freebie.
Here's the card I made:

Would you believe I stamped and fussy cut those scissors 3 times in different colors before I decided on one?

Challenges:
Get Creative Challenge #91 - Make It Sparkly  (The DP has sparkle in it and I ran a row of sparkle tape up the card center to hide the seam and a piece of glitter ribbon down the right side.)

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #553

Welcome!
Are you ready to join the fun at Tuesday Morning Sketches?
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Melissa has created another great sketch for this week's challenge.  I started out making one card, but liked the sketch so much that I ended up making two.  Then I had to decide which to use as my DT card on the TMS blog.  So, I'm very glad you stopped by, because you get to see both of the cards I made.
I'd love to know which you like best.

First, I made this card using a new digi stamp, Virtual Bear Hug, available from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.
I printed the bear twice, once on kraft paper and once on white cs.  Then I colored the white heart and bow, fussy cut them and glued them onto the kraft bear before I fussy cut him.  The sentiment was also a digital stamp.

And then the sketch kept whispering shaker card in my ear, and I hadn't made one in a while, so that's exactly what I did for my second card.
The digi image I used is called Shabby Chic Birdhouse, from Beccy's Place.  A few weeks ago I made another card using this image in the uncolored version.  At the time I printed a small precolored version of the digital birdhouse as a guide.  It was still sitting on my the work table and I thought it would work well on this card.

I almost forgot to show you Melissa's wonderful sketch.

Hope you'll play along with us this week
at  Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Now I'm off to enter a few challenges, too.

Double Trouble Challenge #56

Today's Double Trouble Challenge got me into double trouble.
After making a birthday card with balloons that fly and sponging around the edges, I decided to make a second.

I tried to make the second card a bit more feminine than the first.
The digi image is from Bugaboo Stamps.  Both are fussy cut and colored with markers.
Challenges:
Double Trouble Challenge #56 - Birthday, Something that flies, Sponging, and an entry at The Joy of Sets Challenge
The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge -  birthday, things that fly, sponging

Octopus Hugs

Sent this card off to a friend a few days ago.
I hope she has received it by now.
The octopus is a stamp from IO that I just couldn't resist!
It was colored with markers and fussy cut.
The green glitter frame is from a CTMH cricut cartridge.
The inside sentiment is a digital from Creative Smiles.
