As soon as I saw the colors for the current CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge, I knew I wanted to play. The colors would be perfect for a snowy winter card or night Nativity scene. But did I stay on course, stick to my Christmas card mission and make a Christmas card? Of course not! I pulled out a SU set of stamps and made this:
I stamped the cup and sentiment in navy on light blue card stock, covered the entire surface with VersaMark and clear embossing powder and heated to give it a real glossy, fine china look. Then I fussy cut the cup and punched the sentiment. I created a shelf with gold and punched white cs, from which to "hang" the cup. The embossed background is the pale sky blue.Which reminds me, when I dusted yesterday I forgot to dust the cups hanging from my shelf on the kitchen wall. oops! We are expecting overnight company this afternoon. Maybe I should do that quickly. At least I remembered the white kitchen ceiling fan! Boy, does it get nasty!
After I enter these Challenges:

My mother and I enjoyed a 'pee your pants' moment the other day. After a few hours working in my garden and then in hers, we sat down to a lovely cup of tea served in her chocolate brown pfaltzcraft cups. The tea tasted wonderful, just the right temperature, absolutely delightful. I was going to refill the cup and looked for the spent tea bag but couldn't find it. Mom asked what I was looking for. I told her my tea bag. She said they were right in the box on the table. No, I said, I was looking for the used bag. She then asked if I had put one in the cup because she hadn't. Well, neither had I. My delicious cup of tea turned out to be hot water with a spoon of sugar.
Every day should have a 'pee your pants' moment! Cherish them all!
Super elegant tea cup, definitely one needing the little finger held out daintily. And how many times have I made a cup of tea following your recipe! Thanks for playing at CC&S.
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up, debi! no caps today, too lazy. i like your tea card!
ReplyDeleteOh, how perfect to have the cup hanging from a hook! Brilliant design idea. :-D
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty teacup stamp, and I like the elegant detailing on the "shelf". Thanks for sharing your card with us at CC&S.
ReplyDeleteAs to your tea "recipe" - at least you didn't mistake salt for the sugar! ;)
Thanks for joining us at CC&S this week Debi. I particularly like the lighter blue design on the dark teacup. I've certainly made tea like that in my one cup teapot, but don't think I have inflicted it on anyone else! Stef x
