Birthday Monster + CTMH Cards from 10/1/13 Class

The first thing on my To Do List for today was to get a birthday card made for Noah who will be 9 on Monday.  I thought I was way ahead of the game when I made and posted his card in August.  Unfortunately I made a small error on that card, but fortunately I realized it before sending.  Here is the card I will be popping in the mailbox shortly, so it reaches him in California (hopefully) in time.

This is a triple fold card using last week's free digi image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
I did a little paper piecing on the box, coloring with markers, and glitter gel on the cupcake icing.
The semicircle cut out on the brown CS, which is only glued down on 3 sides to form a pouch for a gift card, was simply done with a punch.

Now I must go throw a meatloaf together and prepare a scalloped potato casserole so it is ready to quickly get in the oven when I return from playing pinochle later this afternoon.  That way Mom and I can make a visit to our friend in the hospital while it is baking and dinner will be ready when I get home.    And I'll be back to finish this later....

.......As I was about to say, before life interrupted

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #31 - Just a Bit Out There with Rick St. Dennis
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - We're Going Dotty
Through the Craft Room Door - Oct 1-7 Anything Goes
Oozak Challenge #23 - Anything Goes
ABC Challenge #47 - 3 or more Patterned Papers

Before you click on that little X in the upper right corner, please take a moment to look at the 4 cards I made yesterday at Joyce's CTMH Card Workshop.

SAVE THE DATE!

I'd love to meet some of my blog visitors at the Heirloom Productions York Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival,  October 12th & 13th;  Sit down at my Make & Take Table at the Close to My Heart booth; Meet my friends, Joyce Houck and Betty Locco, both CTMH consultants; Sign up for the CTMH class on Wearable Art and make this fab necklace and gift box:

  3. I like the other card, but I like this one much better - of course I had to look back to figure out the error - glad you realized it before you mailed it. I think Noah will love this card! Such a cute image and I love the triple-fold style of the card. I've never made that style - I really need to try these different folds - the result is wonderful. Enjoy your day!
