It's that time of year when the stores are filled with very tempting pumpkin treats. Last week I bought pumpkin cream cheese for my morning bagel and it is wonderful. I also bought a loaf of Pepperidge Farms Pumpkin Swirl Bread which will emerge from the freezer when the bagels are all.
I used to live about 3 blocks from the Mrs. Smith's Pie Factory. It was fun watching all the trucks piled high with pumpkins heading for the plant. The odd part about the pumpkin pie season, though, was the smell from the factory. It never smelled like pumpkin pie. It always smelled more like canned green beans. I never could figure that out.
And while I'm on the subject of pumpkin pie.... does anyone else, besides the members of my immediate family, eat grape jelly on their pumpkin pie? You must try it! I suggest doing so in the confines of your home because restaurant servers tend to give you really incredulous looks when you ask for grape jelly with your pumpkin pie.
Gerda Steiner is to blame for all this pumpkin trivia.
This is her darling digi image, aptly named Kid with Pumpkin Cart, for September's challenge.
If you play in this month's challenge using this digi, you'll get next month's digi free.
