Before and After + Mojo Monday #301

When Hurricane Sandy hit last fall, we lost a huge tree in our backyard.

The majority of the tree got cut up and distributed to our neighbors for firewood.  The stump got plopped back into the hole, landing a bit askew, and this spring I added some dirt and some plants from here and there and it's not looking too terribly bad now.

(just ignore the wash line running through the photo)
These photos have absolutely nothing to do with my Mojo Monday card.  But I've made reference to going out to play in the dirt so many times on this blog, I thought I'd let you see a bit of what I accomplished.   Thanks for bearing with me.

Back to blog business..........

Based on this week's sketch:

Here's my Mojo Monday Challenge #301 Card.

The luggage digi image is from Tiddly Inks colored with colored pencils and blended with gamsol ; the sentiment is from CTMH; the background paper with all the passport stamps is actually the flip side of this:
a piece of junk mail, which came with an application to get an American Express card.  I get these every so often and throw everything in the recycle bin except this piece.  This piece I always save to use on a card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday Challenge #87 - Anything Goes
Stampotique Designers Challenge #107 - Recycle It
Paper Crafting Journey Challenge - Anything but a Square Card
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #276 - Stars and/or Stripes

  2. I just LOVE this card. I'm on vacation right now, and one of the things I purchased a lot of on this trip were vintage trunks and suitcases. So this image really hit home for me. I can't wait to set up these new vintage items in my home, and your homespun card captured me heart! Thanks so much for stopping by to share this in our challenge this week, and please be sure to stop by again soon and share more of your wonderful art with us.
May God bless you for sharing, and have a great week!
