Monday Again?

Not only is it Monday, but I need to get an anniversary card in the mail so it arrives tomorrow!
So here is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday 260 Challenge.

I used a Penny Black stamp (so I'll also enter  in the Penny Black Friends Saturday Challenge Buttons and Bows.) and CTMH Pemberly paper.  Wish the itty bitty sparkles that are in the center of the flowers showed up!  They are so cute but can really fly and are tough to find, especially when you are in a hurry.
The mailman better not be early. Gotta run.....

CTMH Christmas Card Extravaganza 9/22/12

Here are the 8 cards we made on Saturday at Joyce's annual Christmas Card Extravaganza.

Taught by Crystal:

Taught by Stacey:

A Gift Card Holder Taught by Jean

Taught by Regina:

And last but not least, taught by Joyce:

I came home and made a few changes to fix some boo boos I made.  But aren't the cards great?

We not only made cards for ourselves but as a group we also made 35 cards for Operation Write Home
which provides cards to our servicemen.   The taco soup is an annual tradition and oh so yummy (recipe on Joyce's web site).  And this year, among other calorie laden desserts, we also enjoyed a pumpkin dump cake for which Joyce has also promised to post the recipe.

It was a great day.  Thank you to Crystal, Stacey, Jean, Regina and especially Joyce.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop

I just finished the Ghosts and Goblins Fall Frolic Blog Hop sponsored by Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Not too many ghosts but some of the best looking witches you've ever seen on a Halloween card.  If you have time, please join the fun.   Can you guess which is my favorite?

Wiper Card

Last night I came across a type of folded card I had never made.  A Wiper Card.  Anyone who knows me knows that I love folding so I had to try one.   It was relatively easy to make.   I'm going to enter it in 2 challenges:
Lets Be Friends Challenge #HMFMC128
and
Paperplay Week # 37 Fancy Folds Challenge

Here are the cards from Joyce's Card Class this afternoon.  It's truly amazing how quiet the room gets when we are all coloring.

H2H Challenge

I'm getting my Christmas cards done one challenge at a time.  I made this card for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge.  This is discontinued CTMH paper that I dearly wish they still carried.

It's Mojo Monday

Here is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday #259 Contest.

Since I still had paper out from the gift card holder I made yesterday, I just used that.  I stamped a Playful Pengie from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Playful Pengies Stamp Set, added some glitter on his hat and a few other spots, embossed the card front, cut out 2 little candy canes from the paper to add to the bow and voila.  Hope you like it!

Card Holders

The cat got me up early this morning so I got this card holder made before breakfast.  It was a precut kit that a friend gave me.  Basically I just glued it together.  It is made with the new CTMH Avonlea paper.  This matches the Workshop on the Go cards I made a few weeks ago.
And I just got the finishing touches done on this gift card holder with belly band. This features Peppermint Christmas Bear, a digital stamp designed by Michelle Perkett and available at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I used Night Sky Sparkle N Soft flocking on his pink and black scarf.

Going in circles

Every time I start to tidy up my stamping area (aka the dining room table) I end up making something.  Before I went to last weekend's show, I came across a technique on the Sparkle N Sprinkle web site for punching in circles and had quickly tried it with my pansy punch.  So as I was attempting to organize my work area, I came across my pansy circle.  On Tuesday a dear friend gave me some odds and ends for my cards.  One was a packet of punch out flowers, which included pansies.  Perfect!  And in no time at all, the pansy circle was no longer cluttering up my table.

CTMH Card Class 9/10/12

Here are photos from today's class:

Since there were leftover pieces already cut from Sunday's 2 Make & Takes, we made those with a few changes here and there.
Joyce came up with this cute card for us to make.  Why are mustaches such a hot item right now?

And this was our final card.  We put multiple layers of Liquid Glass on the large green leaf which gave it a very shiny, almost vinyl quality.

Mojo Monday #258

Thought I'd use Buddy the Christmas Pup Digi 017, a cute digital stamp designed by Michelle Perkett and available at Sparkle N Sprinkle, for the Mojo Monday sketch this week.

The paper was a freebie from my Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine And the pile of bones is not from Santa (don't tell Buddy) but from the Fill the Jar Stamp Set 423, also available at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I have his little paws, right ear and tail popped up so it looks like he's ready to pounce on them.

Thanks for stopping by.    I'm going to Joyce's CTMH card class this afternoon, so I should be posting those cards later today.

Have a nice day.

Make and Takes at Westminster

Well, it was one busy, exhausting, super fun week-end!

I traveled with my Close to My Heart buddies to Maryland to set up a booth in the 2 day Rubber Stamping and Scrapbook Show in Westminster.  This was my second year going along to do the make and takes.  It was such fun seeing so many people I had met last year and getting to visit with them again.  And it was equally fun to meet many more, all of whom enjoy this hobby as much as I do.

So here are pictures of what we made......

I posted this cupcake card before.  This was the Saturday Make and Take.  I'm glad everyone there loved it as much as I did when I first made it at Joyce's.   It seemed like everyone at the table already knew to whom they would be sending this cute card.

Sunday morning we made this little gift box.

Sunday afternoon we were rolling precut flowers to make this unique card.

And then the booth came down and we came home and I'm so tired I tried to open a can of peas for dinner with my mixer.  That didn't work so well.

It's official.

I made the team, Sparkle N Sprinkle's design team, that is.  Here's a link to the official announcement:

http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/2012/09/welcome-to-the-newest-additions-to-the-sparkle-n-sprinkle-family/

Truthfully, when I look at the artwork of my fellow team members, I can't believe I was even included in this talented group of crafters.

This was my project entry using a Digital stamp designed by MICHELLE PERKETT from SNS (Bippity Boppity Boo - Digi 012 -)

I so need to work on my photos.  Photo tips appreciated.

I am getting nothing done today but cards!

Not only is today Mojo Monday, but there are new challenges at both Sparkle N Sprinkle and Paper Playtime.  This time I made one card to enter in both challenges.  Sometimes I come across cards in various blogs that are entered in half a dozen or more challenges at once.  My hat is off to you card makers!  Two at once was challenging enough for me.

So here is my entry for Sparkle N Sprinkle September Sketch Challenge  SNSSC11 (http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/2012/08/september-sketch-challenge) and  Paper Playtime #83 Gingham, Die Cut or Punch Challenge (http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/).

The sentiment on the card reads:  "Let's Make a Date for Christmas Tea Next Saturday at Half Past Three".  As most of my card making friends already know, I love making little poems for my cards.  I'll finish this one on the inside of the card and send it to my oldest and dearest friend in Yuma, AZ when Christmas is a bit closer.  This way we can set a time to relax and indulge in a good long Christmas chat.  (Just to clarify, she's really not my oldest friend age wise.  I do have older friends and many dear friends.  However, she has been my friend, sorority sister, and the sister I wish I had, since our college days.  Love ya, Dawn.)
Olympic paints has great paint samples which emboss nicely for on cards.   My sister-in-law gave me the red gingham and a bunch more paper on our last visit.  And the tea cup is from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Stamp Set #464 Zendoodle Tea.  Now let's see what other mischief I can get into today......

No Monday Morning Blahs Here

I always look forward to Monday morning and the new Mojo Monday sketch.  This is the card I'll be entering in the MOJO257 contest.

I used the Bippity Boppity Boo digi stamp created by Michelle Perkett for Sparkle and Sprinkle (http://sparklensprinkle.com) for the pumpkin and sentiment.
This will be a birthday card for a special someone who loves Cinderella and has a Halloween birthday.

What a busy week this will be!  Close to My Heart will have a booth at the Stamp Scrap Art Tour in Westminster, MD.  this week-end.  Even though I am not a CTMH consultant, I will be going along with consultants Joyce Houck and Betty Locco to "wo"man the Make and Take table.  Maybe I'll see you there????  Here's where you can check out the show details.

Back-to-School/At the Office challenge

Its Back to School or at The Office for HMFMC127

Here is a card I made for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

I cut out the piece of swiss cheese our little friend was carrying and replaced it with a shiny red apple.  The sentiment is my own, and printed on the computer.
