Spiders are insects, right?

This week the Double Trouble Challenge #146 theme

is Something, Anything, and Everything.

(aka Anything Goes)

I whipped up a Halloween card

to add to my SAS4Kids donation box,

using the current sketch from the

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #622,

which I am also entering.

Using washi tape for the stripes made the card super easy.  The stamps are from CTMH.  The tiny spiders were heat embossed using some Ranger black sparkle ep and then fussy cut.

Wishing you a lovely day, without spiders.

Here is the sketch for this week:

And here's my card based on the sketch...

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the right and made a shaped top fold card base using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

The stamps and die cut banner are from SU and the die for the balloon is from ODB.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

This piece of leftover paper was on the top of the scrap pile.
It worked perfectly for this birthday card.

Godzilla? Oh my!

When my hubby went out to mow the lawn on Thursday,  I asked him to ask our neighbor what his son's current interests are so I could make his birthday card.   Jim came in the house a bit later to tell me Brantley likes Legos, Minecraft, Godzilla and his 2 new kittens.

I made a Lego card and a Minecraft card in past years.  Also a Mario Brothers and a Dinosaur Never Ending Card (a big hit!)

This year I tried to make a Godzilla card.

It's actually an alligator stamp from Ai, but it looks lizard-like.

After all that work, I thought I'd share this at the following challenges:

Scrappers' GORP

Instead of what most people consider normal trail mix, often referred to as GORP,  Double Trouble Challenge is encouraging crafters to combine items in their stash to make Scrapper's Gorp and use it on their cards.

I was checking on things in my Fall/Halloween stash for another project and decided I had plenty of GORP with which to work right there.   The scrap of pumpkin paper was perfect to start building my card.  Dotted pumpkins, striped pumpkins, solid pumpkins, that works.

From there I just added a bit of diamond patterned paper, according to the sketch supplied by Try It On Tuesday Challenge.  The framed sentiment and spider are old CTMH stamps.  The shaped label is a cut from the CTMH Artiste cartridge.   And I used 2 different embossing folders for double patterns on the background.

Now I'm going to submit it to:

Cupcake Card

With a lot on my mind right now, I needed a bit of down time this afternoon.  This cute cupcake stamp by STAMPlorations caught my eye and I found a few scraps laying about to make this card.

If someone were to take this card apart, they would find that the purple strip down the right side of the card is pieced together but the ribbon hides the seam.  The pink paper has a hole in it where I die cut something else, but the oval covered it wonderfully.  And the black mat also has an aperture from a previous card.

The cupcake is fussy cut and paper pieced.  The pink frosting has a glittery coating of Wink of Stella.  I curved a straight stamp on the acrylic block before stamping the Happy Birthday, then added fake stitching.

I think I'll submit this to...

From the moment I first saw this sketch it spoke to me.  Well, maybe the summer heat had a little something to do with it.

Send a Smile 4 Kids August Challenge # 240

The theme for the August Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!
is
Birthday Cards 4 Kids

Anything Goes for kids is always acceptable, too.
We just want to see your wonderful creations
and hope you enjoy making and sharing them!

Group pictures are always difficult to take.  Someone always moves, blinks, whatever, and the picture gets blurry.  I must have taken 2 dozen pictures of this group before I got a good one!

Even the stamp was a problem.  I must not have been applying the pressure evenly because the right side was always fine and the left side wasn't as clear.
(I was just too lazy to get out the stamparatus)  Consequently, I ended up with a few extra koalas that were perfectly usable.

These will both be good cards for in my SAS4Kids box!

It would be great if you joined the fun at the
August Birthday Card Challenge.
(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!
