Kid Friendly Birthday Cards

Thought I'd use the new set of Tim Holtz robot stamps I purchased at a stamp show in Florida, to make some kid friendly masculine birthday cards for SAS4K.

This is my favorite,

Double Trouble Challenge #24 - Card #2

When I get a chance, I try to make 2 cards for the Double Trouble Challenge, one for each week.  Today I am sharing my second card for Challenge #24.
I picked up some gold foil for the cards in the post before this one and had enough to add something metallic to this card.
I love this car die, which I borrowed from a friend, cutting it in gold and also black and then off setting the two just a tiny bit.  The die for the gold foil corner is by Tim Holtz.  The "CELEBRATE" stamp is by CTMH.  And, if you squint a bit, you may be able to see the Happy Birthday embossing folder I used on the red background.

CHALLENGES:
Double Trouble Challenge #24 - Metallic + Transportation + enter the Brown Sugar Challenge
Simply Create Too Challenge #147 - AG twist for a male

Card Club at Seabreeze Rec. Ctr.

This afternoon was my last Card Club meeting here in The Villages until next year.  Below is the card we all made, with a few variations in colors and sentiments.

And here are a few more I made using the same layout, a set of pretty spring flower stamps from Crafts Beautiful magazine, and a sheet of patterned paper I just couldn't resist buying.

I'm happy to have a few spring birthday cards ready for upcoming April birthdays.

Ice Cream Weather

It has definitely been ice cream weather in Florida the last few days.  Today, using a set of stamps from Sunny Studio, I made a pair of birthday cards complete with ice cream cones.

The sentiment doily pops through a matching opening in the front of the card, so it is visible when the card is open and closed.
The dies are by Spellbinders.  The ice cream cone was fussy cut.

Challenges:
Scrapy Land Challenge #109 - Anything Goes with dies sold at Scrapy Land (Spellbinders)
As You Like It Challenge - Stencils or Dies (Dies are relatively simple to use.  And I haven't had that much experience with stencils to be happy with the results.)
Mod Squad Challenge - Layered Looks (Not only did I use multiple layers of die cuts, but the ice cream cone and cherry were stamped in layers using a total of 8 different stamps.)
Scribbles Designs Challenge #75 - Yum Yum For the Foodie in You

Flowers for Barbara's Birthday

At the crop I attend on Saturdays, there are often stamping and scrapbooking items on a table, free for the taking.  This half sheet of flowered paper caught my eye.  Since my friend, Barbara, was soon having a birthday, I used it to make her card.  The center die cut is by Impression Obsession and the swirl die cut is by My Favorite Things.  The flowers were all fussy cut from the paper.

Young adult male birthday card

As the grandsons move into their upper teens, making their birthday cards becomes more of a challenge.
No more cute animals or ferocious dinosaurs.
This card is for my oldest grandson, who will be 19 shortly.
I considered a Tim Holtz Crazy Bird,
but decided to just use the Crazy Bird party hat.
Papers are from CTMH and the die cut is by Memory Box.

Challenges:
Country View February Craft Challenge - Black and White plus one (yellow, in this case)
Inkspirational Challenge #181 - Use Your Stash, Designer's Choice

Baseball Birthday Card

My grandson, Nick, celebrated his 14th birthday this past week.
Playing baseball is his passion.
His card is pretty basic, since I broke my Cuttlebug just before I started this.  I distressed all the edges and added a few baseballs cut from the paper as embellishments.
The sentiment stamp is by CTMH.

Crazy Bird Male Birthday Card

I am beginning to think that CAS is not in my creative blood.
This birthday card looked fine without the crazy bird.  But it just didn't look finished to me.

Gnome birthday card

So sorry I haven't posted anything for a few weeks.
Here's a card I made rather quickly using a cute colored digi from Beccy's Place.
This fellow is supposed to be holding a lantern, but I replaced it with a little sign.  His hat and nose and the sign are popped but the photo didn't capture that.
Challenges:
Beccy's Place December Challenge - Use a Beccy's Place image; option flowers and plants

Crazy Birds Happy Birthday

My younger brother's birthday is next week.  But I need to get his card in the mail by Saturday for him to get it in time.  No time like the present to get one made.
Papers, punch, and enamel dots are from CTMH; stamps are from the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird collection from Stampers Anonymous; and the die cut is from  Die-versions.
The birds are fussy cut and paper pieced.

Now, since this is a blog hop,
you might have arrived here from  Andrea Sherman's blog.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #413 - Anything Goes

It's time to make my annual Halloween Birthday Card for my daughter-in-law.  And since this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is Anything Goes, I decided to make it a bit early and use it as my design team card.

I've used washi tape, glitter tape, and a scalloped punched border to dress up an otherwise CAS card.  The die cut circle is from a small scrap sheet of dp mounted on a punched scalloped circle.  The sentiment is from a freebie stamp set.  And the orange pearls were
originally white before being colored with a marker.

What are you working on this week?
We'd love to see you share it with us at
Anything Goes!

I am entering this card in a two of my favorite challenges.....
Always Happy Birthday October Challenge - Birthday Anything Goes
and
A Perfect Time to Craft October Challenge - Anything Goes

Have a great day!

Odds & Ends

When I go to CTMH card class at Joyce's, I just happen to sit at a spot where Joyce often sits when she is crafting.  Consequently, there are usually little bits of this and that on the table.  Last week I spied this butterfly stamp mounted and ready to stamp.  There was a piece of white scrap paper in reach and a black momento ink pad.  I just couldn't resist.  And then there was this scrap of red dp and a roll of ribbon close by.  With a nod from Joyce, I brought the 3 items home, colored the butterfly and made this card.
Challenges:
Bitten by the Bug Challenge - Anything Goes with the Cricut (The Happy Birthday is a Cricut cut from the CTMH Artiste cartridge.)
Dream Valley Challenge #107 - Pearls or Gems
Stamping Sensations Challenge - I Spy something beginning with a B - Butterfly;Birthday

On this past Saturday, Joyce had her annual Christmas Card Extravaganza.  After signing in, we each made a tag using some new CTMH Texture Paste and a stencil made on the cricut with new Stencil Sheets.  I thought the tag would "look good on a card", and it does.

We made a total of 8 Christmas cards, which I'll show you in another post later this week.  For one of the cards we die cut a sentiment from the green cs which I used on this card.  So there's a hole behind the tag?  Who's gonna know?

Somethin' 'bout a truck + CTMH Card Class 9/18/18

While looking through my box of images, I came across this truck and thought it would be perfect for a masculine card.
Since the guy receiving this card is a retired dairy farmer, I couldn't resist adding a line from Old MacDonald as my bottom border.

Birthday Card for 1 year old

This card was designed with my BFF's grandson in mind.
He loves Sesame Street.

I used a Sesame Street coloring page for the image which pops up when the card is opened.  I also fussy cut a second head and attached with a spring so it wobbles.
The sentiment stamps are from CTMH.

Challenges
Sweet Stampers Challenge #24 - Bright Colors

And usually I make an extra card from the leftovers so I'm not storing little scraps......

Thanks for stopping by.
