Scrapbook Layout

Sparkle N Sprinkle asked its design team members to make a scrapbook layout this month.  This is the first one I ever made.  I thought it came out pretty nicely.  The photo was found in my mom's attic among some of my grandmother's things.  Unfortunately, we have no idea who the young ladies are.

You can find the instructions in the Sparkle N Sprinkle Gallery right here.

With this post, my time on the SNS design team comes to an end.  It was a lot of fun.
Many thanks to Margaret for the opportunity.

Good Morning

Friends and hopefully Followers of my blog,

Before my grandsons arrive for their annual New Year's Eve sleepover, I wanted to get my Mojo Monday #274 card done and posted.  I made sure to include some extra Glitter and Sparkle so I could also enter it in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

It's hard to capture in a photo the glittered circle on which I stamped the image.  Then I used some of the new Close To My Heart alcohol markers to color right on the glitter.

Happy New Year to all!!!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Bess!!!

It was snowing pretty heavily when we headed out to attend a surprise birthday party for Aunt Bess!!  In fact when my DH put on the turn signal and braked to turn into the restaurant, the car just kept on going down the street.  Yeah, the roads were pretty nasty.  And any other time we'd stay put at home.
But today was Aunt Bess's 90th Birthday and it was not to be missed!
Here's the card I made for her special day:

And after we came home and  I shoveled the 3-4 inches of snow from our driveway and walk,  I got to work on another birthday card I need for later this week.

Thought I'd make this pretty simple.  You don't make quite so much fuss when the number of candles on the cake is 60!

Just had to get back to making cards....

I have such a list of cards to make for the end of this month and beginning of next.  My great niece's 2nd birthday is tomorrow, so I hope this reaches her in time.

A few details my hasty photos don't show....
an  itty bitty sparkle in the monkey's belly button and hippo's ear,
pink "nail polish" with glitter on the hippo and elephant's toes
and the gator's pearly whites are thanks to liquid pearls.

I must be crazy.........

It's the day before Christmas.  I haven't wrapped a thing.  I have my whole house to clean.  And what do I do first?
what else?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my friends, followers and design team members.
With a very big thank you to Doodle Pantry for this cute digi image
that I won in a blog hop a few weeks ago.

Now I'm afraid I must get to work.  See you after Christmas!

CTMH Card Class 12/18/12

One of my classmates brought in a beautiful Christmas card she had received from a dear friend.  It's a side fold easel card.

We all loved it and immediately wanted to make one ourselves.  Joyce, being the wonderful person she is, started cutting paper and quickly changed one of the cards she had planned for us to make.  Here is our take on Lorraine's card.    Thanks for the idea, Lorraine.  We all miss you, hope you'll visit soon, and wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Here are the other 3 cards we made on Tuesday, all of which are already in the mail.

We don't have class again until January 8th.  By then Joyce should have the new Close to My Heart catalogs.  I might just have to drop in on Joyce with some Christmas cookies and maybe I can get my copy earlier.  First I have to start baking Christmas cookies!!!!

I Can't Believe I Was 4 Cards Short!!!

Yep.  I finally got all my cards addressed and I was 4 cards short.

So I used the gorgeous poinsettia from the Sparkle N Sprinkle Holiday Foliage Stamp Set, stamped it multiple times, cut it out, and layered it on the 4 cards I still needed.  Hopefully, that Christmas task is complete.

The craft table has been cleared.  It will become a temporary wrapping station.  And by Christmas Day it will once again be a dining room table.  (But that won't last long, I'm sure.)

Check back tomorrow to see the cards we made at class yesterday.

Mojo Monday + some extras

First things first -   my Mojo Monday #272 card for today will be sent to my recently married nephew and niece.

You can barely see the silver Merry Christmas on the ribbon.  Sorry.  It's a dreary day today and you all know I'm challenged in the photography department (plus a few other departments as well, how ever....).  I just love the free papers I get in my magazines (Cardmaking and Papercrafting and Quick Cards, both from the UK).

Also thought I'd post a few of the cards I got for Christmas from my very talented friends.

No, this is not a card.  It is a gift bag.  But isn't it cute?

CTMH Card Class 12/11/12

Yesterday's cards were made using a CTMH Pear and Partridge Compliments pack, which had 4 sheets of rub-ons.  Joyce has promised that we will make 5 more cards next week and still have run-ons left over.

Check out the ribbon on this last card.  We put a run-on on it.
I didn't know you could do that.  But do it we did!

Fun Nights Out

Had a great Dinner and Crafting Night with a few wonderful friends (Joyce, Betty, Laurie, and Erin) last week.
Betty, Laurie and Erin were busy making this gorgeous card
while Joyce and I were cutting paper so we could all decorate the pages of this calendar

and then Laurie and Erin announced they had succumbed to learning a new craft, and brought out all the supplies to make these pretty Christmas Snowflakes.

This is not Betty's table setting for our Dinner and Crafting night.

Friday my Mother treated us to a trip to Longwood Gardens as an early Christmas present.  It was just beautiful.  The photo above was taken inside the Conservatory.  Outside there were hundreds of decorated trees with half a million lights. (I did not personally count them, but that's what the literature said.)

It was my first trip there and I will definitely be going back.

CTMH Class 12/4/12

Last week was an exceptionally busy week for me and I never got the cards we made in class posted.  So here they are:
