Double Trouble Challenge #206

My great grand-daughter will be celebrating her 5th birthday soon.

I used the recipe below from Double Trouble Challenge #206 "2025 Wrap It Up" as a guide for her card.

3 of something from my stash- I used 3+ dies

2 of anything from my stash- I used 2 patterned papers

1 of everything else from my stash- I used 1 digi stamp

I also used the sketch from Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #685 and will enter their challenge.

Double Trouble Challenge #201

"3-2-1 Recipe - SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing"  is the theme at the Double Trouble Challenge until October 12th.

For this challenge participants are allowed to make their own recipe.

My recipe is as follows:  1 sentiment; 2 patterned papers; and 3 circles

Any guesses where I got the 4 little balloons?

As usual, I followed the sketch from Try a Sketch on Tuesdays.

Birthday cards for twins

The twins, who live across the street from us, happily informed me that they are going to have a birthday party.

We so enjoy watching them playing together without a care in the world!  Who knew the windshield of a truck makes a perfect sliding board?  They love finding sticks and having fencing matches.  Their driveway is often a museum of chalk masterpieces.  Conversing with them is always enlightening.  The other day I watched as one twin filled the other's super soaker water gun.  I asked him where his gun was and he said he lost it.  That was quickly followed by, "That's OK.  I have the hose!"

Here are their birthday cards:

If you are making any cards suitable for children, this month's challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids is Anything Goes.

We'd love to see your cards!

Thanks for visiting my blog.

BTW: Today is my grandson's birthday.

This is his card:

Minion Making

This card was very time consuming, but worth it for a little guy who hasn't been receiving my cards the last few years.  I made him cards, I sent him cards, but I have no clue who received them or the gifts inside.   He and his family moved and no one told me.

I finally have their new address.

He better receive this card!

Have a great day!

Numbered Cards

Every year I make special cards for my great granddaughters.  This year Luna turned 3 right before Christmas

This is a top fold card with an inside step to pop up the cake.
Unfortunately, I built the inside on the back of the front so when you open the card you see this.  Whoops! I could not figure a way to fix it, and I was not starting only.

and Lahna turns 5 in a few days.

Here are my girls decorating Christmas cookies.

Right before Thanksgiving,

they welcomed a new baby sister, Lia, to their family.

That makes 4 great-granddaughters, Laila, Lahna, Luna and Lia!

Laila is 9!

Gee, it's hard to believe my great granddaughter turns 9 today.

Here is a picture from her blog debut in 2014.

That shirt and those earrings still fit this old grandma!

Every year since then I have made Laila a card using a set of quilted numbers digital stamps from Beccy's Place.   Here is her card for this year using the digi for number 9.

I printed and fussy cut the precolored lion digi image.  I also printed just the lion's head and fussy cut that.  The head is attached to the card with an Action Wobbler from Art Impressions.  It's cute when it jiggles.

I made the center step card, following online directions from Splitcoast Stampers.  I didn't realize I'd end up with a 5 1/2" square card.  I brought some square envelopes with me to FL but they measured 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, so the card didn't fit.  I ended up making an envelope, addressing it and sealing it without putting the card inside.  Luckily I was able to open it without damage and inserted the card.

Laila is getting so grown up.  Just look at her now.

Luna is 2 and Lahna turns 4

It's hard to believe my great granddaughters are growing so fast.  With only 2 years between them, they are inseparable.

I though I'd share the birthday cards I made for them this year.

Lahna said I could borrow her witch hat for next year's Red Hat Witches Ball.

Challenges I am entering: Fab n Funky Challenge #564 - shaped cards; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Too Cute; AAA Birthday Challenge Game #45 - AG;

Have a wonderful day.  I appreciate your visit.

a new card

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week there is no sketch!
It is our Annual Anything Goes Challenge.

I'd like to share the
Triple Cube Pop-Up Card
that I made for my grandson's birthday.
I found excellent directions right here.

Matt is on the robotics team at school, so I pulled out my Tim Holtz Robot Blueprints Stamps and a couple sheets of Graphic 45 paper that I knew would come in handy one day.  I found some small Tim Holtz gears and added them to the bots.

This is the back of the card, with a sentiment and a little pocket for some cash.
I know this is a busy time for most of you.
But I hope you'll be able to play along at
You have 2 weeks!*

The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.

You can be sure that one of us will be visiting you.

**This challenge will run for 2 weeks from 12/20-1/1**

and the first challenge of 2023
will begin on 1/10/23.

Send a Smile 4 Kids March Challenge 2022

The theme for the March Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!
is boy cards for kids.
Anything Goes for kids is always acceptable.

Here's the card I made for my grandson's 17th birthday:
This digi image is from TLC Creations.  The actual digi has "H" is for Homer  on the left side, which I removed when I fussy cut.  I also printed a second baseball cap to which I added the number 17 in my Paint program.  Then I fussy cut it and popped it on top of the other image.  I hope my grandson notices the vintage picture of Babe Ruth at bat within the H.

It would be great if you joined the fun at the
March Challenge.
(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!
April

I haven't entered any challenges for a while.
Thought I'd enter this card in the following:

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #643

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Here is this week's sketch:

The design team is taking turns choosing their favorite sketch from 2021.  This sketch is Tammy's's favorite.

My great granddaughters all have winter birthdays.  Luna's was in December, Lahna's was in January, and Laila, who will be 8 this year, has a February birthday.
This card is for her.

Every year since Laila was born, I have made her a special card using quilted digi numbers from Beccy's Place.  I'm glad I purchased the whole set, because I think they are retired now. I colored this one with markers.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Happy 8th Birthday, Laila!!!!

I hope you'll have time to play along at
this week.
The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.

Happy 3rd Birthday

It was just the week before Christmas that we celebrated my great-granddaughter's first birthday.  Today we are celebrating the 3rd birthday of her older sister, Lahna.

She should like this card.

The papers, including the sentiments and cute elephant, are from a paper pack by The Paper Boutique called Wild and Wonderful.

I used the same paper and same design for her 1st birthday card and her 2nd birthday card.

I traced the three from a stencil and handcut all but the top section where I die cut the "THREE" using dies from MFT.

Challenges:

Shopping our Stash Challenge #461 - something beginning with "s" (shaped card, sentiment)

Through the Craft Room Door Jan. 4th Challenge - AG

2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge # 58- AG with a critter

Cut It Up Challenge #242 - Birthday with a die cut (Although I fussy cut the image, I used dies to cut the word THREE )

Here's a picture of Lahna from Halloween.

It is so hard to get her to stand still!
