Quick Card with Imagine That! Digi Stamp

Here's a quick post to go with a quick card using an image from the Imagine That! Love Lifts You digital Stamp Set.
(I'm on their Design Team right now and am thoroughly enjoying using their digis! You still have two days to post a card to this challenge.  If you use an Imagine That! digi stamp, you receive a free set to use next month.  This stamp is in their freebie section in case you've never tried Imagine That! Stamps.)
It is for one of my Red Hat friends, hence the red/purple color scheme.

I'll quick pop this into the Imagine That! April Challenge on Facebook before we head next door for a little birthday party before going to my grandson's baseball game.

Imagine That! Stamps Thursday Inspiration

Freda's Flower Basket by Imagine That! Stamps has everything you might need to create a very lovely card.

It just so happened that I needed a birthday card this week, but wouldn't this make a wonderful Mother's Day card?

And, here's a time saving hint:  I created a document file with everything I needed to make this card; the pre-colored basket of flowers with the butterfly; an extra butterfly; a few extra flowers; the sentiment, and 3 pieces of the designer papers in the sizes I needed.  Anytime I want to make another card like this, I can just open that file and hit the print button.

I wanted to add a little blingy stick pin to the bow, because the card is for an individual who collects old hat pins.  There is an envelope with about a half dozen of them somewhere in my stash.  But do you think I could find them?  Of course not!
I need a time saving hint for finding stuff when I need it.  Now that the card has been mailed, I'm sure those stick pins will turn up in a very logical place .

Shoebox Swap at Joyce's

Since Joyce, our class leader and CTMH consultant, is recovering from a bit of surgery, this week's class was a "shoe box" swap.  Although none of us actually used a shoe box, we each came prepared with supplies for everyone to make a card of our design.  Because a few people couldn't come, we each made two cards.

And here they are....
First Judi's card:
She always makes very elegant cards.

next Mickey's masculine scrap card...

With various squares and backgrounds to choose from, we each configured our own cards.

Sybilla's layered card.....

Two of the six layers are actually behind the teal card base.  When the card is open you still get the effect of the layers.

and my card..........

I used flower, leaf and butterfly cuts from the CTMH Flower Market cartridge.
We'll be keeping Joyce in our prayers as she continues to recover and returns to her smiling, crafty self.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge # 340 with Sweet n Sassy

Today I am sharing some inspiration for this week's
where the theme is Embossing.
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is

Sweet'n Sassy Stamps is a small, family-owned, Christian company offering exclusive images, designs and sentiments in both clear and digital stamps. They also carry a small number of exclusive die designs, some of which coordinate with their stamps. A wonderful Bible Journaling line of stamps is also available.

Today I've used  Lilacs-for-Cocoa  to make a Mother's Day card.
Cocoa appears on a lot of the Sweet n Sassy stamps.  I am totally jealous that Cocoa found some lilacs in which to hide.  For the second year in a row, I have no blooms on my lilac bush.

There were 4 different embossing folders used on this card.
I love embossing and have quite a growing collection of folders.

If you enjoy embossing, heat or dry, please join us at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge for this fun challenge.   My wonderful teamies all have creations of their own to show you.  There are lilacs in every color on display.

And, please don't forget to stop by Sweet n Sassy Stamps to check  out more of the great items available.

Challenges I am entering:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #178 - Use a stamp for the sentiment
Patties Creations Challenge #133 - Shades of purple in your image
Bastel-traum Challenge #52 - Mother's Day

Minty Mojo Monday

These stamps from the  Joy Clair Dad's Day clear stamp set  is perfect with the CTMH Sugar Rush Paper, which is being retired April 30th.
I just couldn't resist using a marker to add a few chocolate chips to this minty, paper pieced (right down to the eye balls) popsicle.
Another card for my Father's Day SAS4K box, but it would work just as well for a birthday or anytime dad has done something particularly cool.
Challenges:

Joy Clair April Challenge - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge #198 - Use a stamp for the sentiment
Brown Sugar Challenge # 247- Use a die cut (scalloped circle)

 Enjoy your day!
Hope to see you again tomorrow!

Saying goodbye to Sugar Rush

Close to My Heart has a new catalog coming out May 1st
and is retiring the papers from the last catalog.
So, it's time to say good bye to the Sugar Rush Paper Packet.

This double flap card has no stamping.  The ice cream cone is from one of the journaling cards included in the paper pack.  I cut the word 'sweet' from another journaling card.
Under the double flaps is the greeting, a cut from the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge.
This is attached to a white A2 card base.  I want to add this to a box for Send a Smile 4 Kids.  They need lots of space for signing names inside.  And it will also stand up nicely for display purposes.

This won't be my last card using the really cute Sugar Rush paper,
but I'm getting down to bits and pieces.
You have until the end of April to order this cool paper.
It would make wonderful summertime cards with all those yummy frozen treats!
This card is a DT creation for Chris Franco's CTMH  heArtful stamping blog.  I hope you'll take a moment to pop over, check out the blog, and Chris's current anything goes challenge.

I am entering these fun challenges:
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Birthday with option of 2 patterned papers
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Punches and/or die cuts 4 kids
Creatilicious Challenge #113 - Anything Goes with option of Birthday
Crafty Hazelnut's April Patterned Paper Challenge - Anything Goes with patterned paper
Allsorts Challenge # 412- I spy something beginning with "b" (bling, birthday, bow)

And now we are off to a soccer match followed by a baseball game.  Originally, the weather forecast was for a day of rain, but it's beautiful.

Hope you enjoy your day, too!

Great Impressions Friendship Card

Good morning all you crafty people!

If you caught my Great Impressions Stamps post two weeks ago, you might remember that tea cups and tea pots are two of my favorite stamp images.  My eye was particularly drawn to this Great Impressions Spring Teapot Rubber Stamp (E667)
  featuring tulips, pansies and hyacinths.

It made a perfect focal point for the belly band of the gate fold card I am sharing with you today.
The inside of the card features Great Impressions A Good Friend Rubber Stamp (E830) .

Sentiments don't have to be stamped on solid cardstock.  I love to stamp them directly on a piece of designer paper, so the inside is as pretty as the outside, especially, when the sentiment is as lovely and true as this one.

I am entering this gatefold card in the following challenges:
Fussy & Fancy Challenge # 185 - Fancy Fold or Shaped Card
A Gem of a Challenge #192 - Ribbon or Lace
Make My Monday Challenge #44 - Embossing Heat or Dry  (After a coating odf clear Wink of Stella, I clear embossed the tea pot 2 times to give it a shiny china look.)
Through the Craft Room Door Week of April 18th - Anything  Goes
Fairytale Challenge #166 - More than one fold
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - A Nice Cuppa (I used my cuttlebug for all the die cuts.)

And don't forget to enter the
at Great Impressions Stamps Blog.

Anniversary Couple

Two of my favorite peeps celebrated their anniversary over the weekend.
I made this card for the occasion.
The moment I first saw this new set of Tim Holtz Hipster stamps I knew they belonged in my stash. Although, I'm not sure what two of the sentiments, CRAY and LMAO, mean.  Guess I'm not "hip".

Challenges:
Corrosive Challenge #4 - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Things with Wings
A Gem of a Challenge #192 - Ribbon or lace
Make  My Monday Challenge #194 - Embossing, wet or dry
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Splash it on (I used water color pencils and a water brush to color the birds.)
Moving Along with the Times Challenge #143 - Birds and Feathers (I hope you can see the feather embossing on the background. )
Well, that's it for today.
The sun is shining and I have flower beds that need some spring cleaning.

Spring Boot for Mojo Monday

For some reason my Mojo Monday card did not go together as easily as usual.  First, I couldn't find the digi images I printed yesterday to use today.  That will teach me to "tidy" up!  After uncovering the images, I used markers to color them, followed by my normal fussy cutting of the second copy for popping purposes.   Deciding the flowers could use a bit of sparkle, I picked up the Wink of Stella pen and started applying it.  I didn't understand why it was turning my pink flowers orange until I realized I was using gold instead of clear.  It actually took almost 3 hours to make this card because I had issues with the flowers and the velum die cuts and the ribbon.....

Digi image is Spring Boot from Bugaboo Stamps.

Flowers at the bottom are from the same image, just sized differently.

Challenges:
Artistic Inspirations Challenge #177- Add some ribbon or lace
QKR Stampede Challenge #239 - Anything Goes w/ optional flowers

Catch the Bug April Bingo Challenge -  I used the first column: die, bugaboo image, ribbon.

My daffodils are all up and blooming nicely.
Spring is here!
And I'm here today to post my very first card as an

If you check the labels on the right side of my blog, you'll see that I'm not new to the fabulous digital stamps and papers from

Although, this is the first time I've created anything using this beautiful Daffodil.
Daffodil

Can you see the shimmer on the petals and leaves?

This is the sentiment I used on the inside of the card.

What a wonderful set of sentiments to have at your disposal!

Singing in the Rain

We had a little bit of rain early this morning
and the birds are loving it.
I do have errands to run today
(I'm really not running yet, but my sprained foot is healing nicely.),
but thought I'd share this card with you first.

I saw this weaving technique somewhere and just had to give it a try.
It would have been so much easier if I had a chevron die.
But, I'm fairly good at improvising and found a cut on one of the CTMH cricut cartridges that produced chevron pieces.  The weaving was fun (not!).
Once the background was completed, it needed something that wouldn't detract from or obscure the weaving.  I don't usually work backward like this.  Luckily, this cute image (Great Impressions Stamp Springtime Birdie E906S), the sentiment (Great Impressions Stamp April Showers D387S) and the circle frame (CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge) were in the "pile" on my craft table waiting for a home. The corners are just a punched scalloped square cut in quarters. And the puffy flowers are CTMH embellishments.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Card Mania Challenge #91 - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Scribbles Design Challenge #51 - Birds of a Feather
My Time to Craft Challenge #343 - No Designer Paper

Check out my umbrella giveaway here!

Now, I'd best get on with my day.
Have a good one!

Great Impressions Stamps April Challenge Card

Today I thought I'd share a little bit
about how I made my card for the
 April Showers Bring May Flowers
Great Impressions April Challenge?

Here's the card I made using the Great Impressions
and

Just because a stamp is a border stamp, doesn't mean you can't use it for other purposes.  Here I used the stamp as the flower border at the bottom of the card  (heat embossed in gold, watercolored and fussy cut) and also as the umbrella pattern (stamped twice, watercolored, and heat embossed with clear ep to give it a shiny vinyl look).

I started out making a yellow umbrella and then wasn't happy with it.  So then I made 3 more, pink umbrella, a pale blue umbrella, and finally decided on the blue umbrella above.
What do you think?  Did I choose correctly? Would anyone like a leftover umbrella?
Here's a tip to prevent your adhesive from showing when working with velum.  First, attach any items that will be on top of the velum.
Turn it over and place your adhesive on the velum behind those items.  When you glue the velum down whatever adhesive you used will be hidden.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today.
I look forward to seeing your projects for the
and visiting some of your blogs.

Don't forget you could be the winner of this cute stamp:

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #338 with HoneyBee Stamps

This week Tuesday Throwdown is challenging you to
Use Something Clear.
Sponsoring this challenge is Honeybee Stamps
 Honey Bee Stamps
You'll find a nice assortment of stamps, dies, embellishments, tools and supplies in their shop.  And, the Honeybee Stamps Blog offers wonderful tips and ideas.

I've used clear buttons, 5 clear diamond shaped crystal dew drops from the Honey Bee Stamps shop, and a piece of clear acetate behind the windows of the truck, a Honey Bee stamp from the Little Pickup Stamp Set.
(sentiment is computer generated)
The fun thing about this Little Pickup Stamp Set is the variety of items you can stamp into the bed of the truck, making the set very versatile.  I stamped the truck on red cs and then fussy cut it.  To fill the truck with flowers, I drew a light line on white cs where I planned to place the truck.  Then I stamped the flowers and colored them, before adding the truck.

"Clearly" the fun part of this challenge, for me,
will be finding the diamond crystal I dropped on the carpet.

Hope you are able to find something clear and enter this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.

Joyful Stars Close To My Heart April Blog Hop

Welcome to the April
Close to My Heart Joyful Stars Blog Hop.

Have some fun hopping between the blogs of this group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, where we share creative projects using CTMH products.

My blog hop contribution this month is a single layer, long card with coordinating envelope using the Hello Lovely Paper.
I can't decide if I want to buy more of this pretty paper
before it is retired at the end of the month.
Card measures 8 x 3.5

My inspiration for this card and envelope was a card entered in a challenge for which I design.  It was created by Esther Asbury and can be found on her blog here.
Thank you, Esther, for sharing.

My mother and I share a cup of tea every Sunday afternoon,
so the February SOTM set was an obvious choice for her Mother's Day card.
The layered flower and pussy willows are cuts on the CTMH Flower Market Cricut Cartridge.  I fussy cut and paper pieced the tea cup.

For the envelope, I used stamps that came with the Artistry cartridge, another pussy willow branch, and the word "Mother", also a cricut cut found on the Flower Market Cartridge.
I used the clear shimmer brush to add some interest to the flower and pussy willows.
Hope you can see it.

Now, since this is a blog hop, you might have arrived here from Marie Flayer's blog.

Your next stop is  Tracey Pierce's blog.
The hop is circular. So if you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back, making the full circle.  If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on Joyce's blog

Thanks for hopping by.

This card is my entry in the following challenges:

The House That Stamps Built DCC45 - Add a die cut (stitched circle)
Just Add Ink Challenge #354 - Photo Inspiration (tea cup & flowers)
