Playing Ball with Dad + CTMH Class 4/26/16

Busy, busy, busy making Father's Day cards
when I should be
busy, busy, busy cleaning my house
for my Mother's Day Luncheon next Saturday.

Here is one I finished this morning,
suitable for birthday or Father's Day.
This is a precolored digi and sentiment from Sparkle n Sprinkle, letters are cricut cuts from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge,  ball is an old CTMH wood stamp, heat embossed with black detail embossing powder from SNS.

We are due at Aunt Bess's within the hour for an afternoon of card playing, rather than making, so I am quickly entering these
Challenges:
Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge - Wood in the design (baseball bats)
Ike's World Challenge #62 - Sing Us A Song (Take me out to the ball game....)
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #57 - "e" for embossing (baseball)

Almost forgot...
We made these 4 cards at Joyce's CTMH card class yesterday, while it stormed outside and my car seat got totally soaked because I left the window down 3 inches.

Monday Mojo # 445

This coming Saturday my grandson receives his 1st Holy Communion, an occasion requiring  a very special card.  Since we will be delivering it in person and I have a stash of square envelopes,  I thought I'd follow today's Mojo Monday square card sketch.

Green is Matt's favorite color.  It was actually surprising that I still had a sheet of green cardstock in my stash.  When he is here crafting, that is always the color he chooses.
Note to self: Purchase more green cs.
The beautiful image is an Our Daily Bread Designs Stamp. The sentiment is a CTMH stampBoth are stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Sparkle n Sprinkle Glitsy Gold Embossing Powder.  On each side of the image is half of a rectangular die cut by ODBD.
The scalloped oval is a Spellbinders die cut.  The simple circle was cut on the Cricut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.
Here is a close up of the card,
so you can see the beautiful gold paper from Paper Temptress.

Challenges:
Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge #273 - recipe: use items start with the letters o-d-b-d
(o-scalloped oval; d-odbd die; b-green background paper; d-embossed designer paper)

Words for Mom

My yellow tulips are blooming.  Those bulbs are over 30 years old, but they come up every year just in time for Mother's Day.  I didn't even see buds on them earlier this week.  The buds are very small, hiding at the base of the plant.  The flower opens first, very close to the ground among the leaves.  Then the stem grows last, after the tulip opens.  Eventually the flower will stand about 8 inches tall.

Today I have a Mother's Day card to share.    It features a digi image from Digi Stamps 4 JoyNow that I think about it, this sentiment could be used for just about any occasion.  I added just few touches of color to the image, gems, ribbon with bow, punched border and some butterfly stickers.

Challenges:
Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge #127 - Anything Goes with twist: for a lady/girl
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #190 - Photo Inspiration (I went with the mom theme)

Crafting for all Seasons Challenge #124 - Tic Tac Toe (diagonally from lower left to upper right: girlie, digi image, flowers)

Challenges:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #156

Split Top Card Box & CTMH Class 4/19/16

This morning's agenda did not include making a Split Top Card Box.  But the SCS Weekly Inkling arrived in my inbox,  just taunting me to give it a try.
Papers are CTMH.

Couldn't wait to use this digi

that I won in a challenge at The Stamping Boutique

The flowers are cricut cuts from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.  The stems and leaves are a flourish die cut divided into pieces and tucked into the card through slits in the top of the butterfly. The rectangle die cut is from Our Daily Bread.  The butterfly was colored with markers and gold Wink of Stella.  Black and yellow liquid pearls finish up the card.

Challenges I am entering today....
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - Butterflies & Flowers
613 Avenue Create Challenge #172 - Anything Goes w/ option of recycled materials  (I save the plastic from packaging and used a small strip folded in half to make the butterfly wings stand up.  Even if it flattens in the envelope, it will pop back up when removed.)
Come and Get It Challenge #114 - Things with Wings

Now, hopefully, I still have enough time to get a cake baked before I head over to Joyce's for our Tuesday CTMH card class.  I can ice it when I get home.

Movin' on Mojo Monday

Lots to do today.  The sun is out.  The weeds are growing.  Time to get the flower beds in shape for the annual mulching.

Here's my card for Mojo Monday #444.

Everything on this card went together easily with coordinating CTMH Pemberly papers (now retired); the CTMH sentiment; and a couple OohLaLa stitched circle die cuts.
And then I opened the card....

Thank heavens for my bottle of Un-Du!
I managed to loosen the glue and spin the sentiment circle. Otherwise I would have cut the card in half and made it into an easel card.  So this is the actual finished card.

Challenges I am entering include:

Craft Your Passion Challenge #308 - Always Anything Goes
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #179 - Mother's Day Flowers

*****
Saturday I spent a wonderful day with friends at a Crop benefitting their Relay for Life team.  I worked on favors for my Mother's Day luncheon.  It was a productive day.  I came home with all the baskets made and added the finishing touches yesterday.

Check out the shrinky dink charms I made.  Joyce came up  with the idea. This CTMH stamp worked perfectly.

Thanks for visiting.  Have a wonderful day!

Dino Stickers for Mom & Dad

Going through my embellishment stash the other day, I came across a sheet of adorable 3 layer dinosaur stickers I picked up when my granddaughter became a mother 2 years ago.  This year they are going to find homes on Mother's Day and Father's Day cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids.
Sentiments are CTMH stamps.
The dp came from a magazine; die cut is Spellbinders; the embossing folder is CTMH; and the shimmer trim is also CTMH.

Share Joy Challenge

The new Share Joy Challenge caught my eye today.   I liked the sketch and the top row of the tic tac toe board.  I even pulled out a Taylored Expressions stamp set and matching die for the bug and sentiment.

(The CTMH Artistry Cricut Cartridge was used for the #1 Dad cut out on the tag.)

This card goes in the new box I've started to mail to Send a Smile 4 Kids

Share Joy Challenge #31 - sketch and tic tac toe (top row: ombre, enamel dots, no patterned paper)

Switching Gears

Having mailed off a box of Mother's Day cards yesterday, it's time to pull out more masculine papers, stamps and doo dads to start making Father's Day cards.

This Penny Black vintage car stamp is one of my favorites.

Would you believe I stopped at the craft store the other day and walked out with only 4 sheets of paper @ 40% off and 2 pkgs. of green enamel dots that were discounted?  This was one of the papers I purchased.  I thought it had great colors for masculine cards.
The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  And the Triangle Studs are from CTMH, too.

I used the triple stamping technique, one of my favorites, so I could enter this card in Challenge #33 at The Male Room.  If you've never done it, there are great examples and instructions there.

Other challenges I am entering include:
Inky Impressions April Challenge - All About the Boys

Bunny Zoe's April Craft Challenge - Traveling/Transport
613 Avenue Create Challenge # 171 - Anything Goes w/ option of creating a masculine card

Spaghetti tonight.  Time to get some water boiling.

Nest Building with Sami Stamps

Yesterday was spent boxing up all the Mother's Day cards I have been making.  Earlier today I mailed them off to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  And, what did I just finish doing?  Making another Mother's Day Card.  But, I noticed I could still enter the current Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge, and one of the sponsors is Sami Stamps.  I checked my Sami Stamps digi file and found a wonderful Birdie Hearts digi.  Then a sentiment popped into my head.  Before I knew it, I had made another Mother's Day card.  (I'll set it aside for next year's box.) Sure was a lot more fun than scrubbing the shower!
(Notice I've used die cuts.  That's the theme for this week's challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  Scroll down for more info and my DT card.)

Today's Challenges:
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - For Moms or Special Females from the Kids
Passion for Promarkers Week 341 - Bingo (center column: ribbon, image, sentiment)
I used Letreset Promarkers Gold O555 and Red R666.

Lisa's bingo board

Gee, I don't think I have enough time now to get that shower scrubbed before we leave for my grandson's baseball game.  As Scarlett would say, "tomorrow is another day".

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #289 with Sweet N Sassy

Welcome to my blog.

Today I am sharing some inspiration for this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge, where the theme is Use Your Die Cuts.  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Sweet'n Sassy Stamps is a small, family-owned, Christian company offering exclusive images, designs and sentiments in both clear and digital stamps. They also carry a small number of exclusive die designs, some of which coordinate with their stamps. A wonderful Bible Journaling line of stamps is also available.

This card features the Sweet 'n Sassy  Butterfly & Flower Digital Stamp and a sentiment from Birds & Roses Clear Stamp Set.  For this card, the digital image was printed twice.  I colored one image and just the wing of the other, then die cut the complete image using a Spellbinders Beaded Circle Die and fussy cut the butterfly wing.  I popped the second wing over the image at one end and glued it to the image at the other, securing it with a black pearl.
Finally I added those teeny, tiny black beads that roll everywhere.

Now it's your turn to Use Your Dies and enter this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  For more inspiration, my very talented teammates have invited you all to visit their blogs, too.  You'll find their names (with links to their blogs) and projects on the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog.
