Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #561

It's Tuesday, which means I have a card for
to share with you.
Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week's sketch is by Andrea.
I started with a piece of scrap paper and went from there.

The house mouse image and confetti were last minute additions.
The card was fine without them, but cuter with them.
I like cute.

I hope you'll play along at
Tuesday Morning Sketches

this week.
It would be lovely if you had the time to visit the blogs of my TMS teammates and leave them a virtual hug.

Challenges I am entering:

At sixes and sevens

Have you ever heard the idiom, "at sixes and sevens"?  For some reason, that's how I'm feeling today.  It started very early when I woke up to find my DH still asleep at my side and I thought he had overslept and was late for his golf league.  Luckily, I realized that it was only Monday before I woke him up needlessly.
I just haven't been able to make my day run smoothly since then.

I did, however, manage to make a few cards and 4 face masks.
So, all is not lost, I'm just a bit discombobulated.

Here's a special anniversary card I made for a dear friend of mine.

Challenges:
Cuttlebug Mania Tuesday Challenge - Wedding/Anniversary   (I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background and die cut the numbers and flowered piece under the frames.  The frames were cut on the cricut.)

Happy 90th Birthday, Mom!

Today my mother celebrates her 90th birthday!
Her mother, my grandmother, lived to be 100.
Hopefully, this pandemic will have run its course and we will be able to have a huge party for Mom's 100th.

I did make her this special birthday card.

The card base is a white shimmer card stock.  The cake and sentiment (Stampin' Up stamps) were also stamped on the shimmer card stock and colored with markers and Wink of Stella pens.  The frame is a die cut using CTMH holographic paper and the numbers are Cricut cuts of the same.  I masked the cake and sentiment before giving the panel a few spritzes of Tattered Angels pink spray mist.  And I stamped, colored and fussy cut an extra flower to pop on the top of the cake.   After framing, I adhered it to the card front over a piece of ribbon and added the matching bow last.

Starting my July Birthday Cards

June was full of birthdays mostly at the end of the month.
July isn't quite as bad, except the July birthdays are all at the beginning of the month.
Here is the only Red Hat Birthday card I need to make for July.
I call it a Red Hat card because it is done in the traditional Red Hat colors, Red and Purple, and will go to one of the Delightful Dazzling Dames, my local chapter.

Lots of June Birthdays

My calendar sure has a lot birthdays in June and most of them are at the end of the month.
This card is headed to my college BFF in Arizona.
Well, not exactly this card.
I wasn't so sure I liked it.
One little addition and I liked it much better.
I glued the red cs to the back of the card base.
When the card is opened, you still see that bright red pop surrounding the card.

Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #254 - Summer + a sentiment
AAA Birthday Card Challenge #14 - Use Vellum (There is a die cut circle of vellum beneath the flowered circle.)

Not so busy

Here's another card for one of the gals in my Red Hat Chapter.

This time the sentiment is a sticker and the flower stamp and papers are from Stampin' Up.  The purple ribbon down the side and black glitter tape across the middle of the card are from CTMH.
This isn't quite as busy as the card I posted on Monday.

Too Busy???

As I was working on this card it never occurred to me that it was a bit busy.  I finished it and took pictures, and mailed it out.  It wasn't until after I downloaded the photos and saw the card on my computer screen that I thought I might have gone overboard.
What do you think?

The card was for one of my Red Hat friends.
We do tend to get carried away at times.

The sentiment stamp and matching die are from Rubbernecker, paper and black die cuts are from SU,  and the purple butterflies are stickers from DollarTree.

Recliner Time on Dad's Day

For some Dads this would make a perfect Father's Day, time to relax, read, maybe catch some golf or other sports on TV, all from the comfort of their favorite chair.
I can't remember where I got the digi.  Sorry!  But it is colored with markers.  And the sentiment stamp is from CTMH.

Is Dad A Golfer?

Sunday is Father's Day in the US.  Are you ready?
My DH is a golfer.  I picked this cute digi image up at Di's Digi Stamps quite a while ago with him in mind.

The digi was colored with markers.  The textured frame around image is die cut.  I used a SU stamp to create the golf ball background.  The stamped frame and sentiment are from CTMH.

Challenges:
Make My Monday Challenge #124 - Summer Activities
Lil Red Wagon Challenge #554 -  Animal Antics
Creative Moments Challenge #192 - AG option /Summer Sports
Aud Sentiments Challenge #253 - AG with a sentiment
As You Like It Challenge - Digi or Rubber and why?  They both have pros and cons and I've used both on this card.  I think I like rubber better because I can find them easier in my stash.  The digis get lost in this machine and sometimes it takes hours to find the one I want.  Perhaps I just need to organize them better.

Double Trouble Challenge #59

At the end of last week I totally cleared off my craft/dining room table and told myself that I would do no crafting until after I was finished preparing income taxes.
The taxes are now complete.
My crafty stuff is back on the table.
And here is my card for the new Double Trouble Challenge #59

Following the recipe challenge,
1.  I used an old sentiment stamp from CTMH.  It is from one of the first sets I bought when I started stamping over a dozen years ago.  The bird is also an older CTMH stamp from one of my favorite sets.  I colored him with pencils.
2.  There are two each of two types of embellishments.  Thought I'd cover my bases.
3.  Blue, green and purple were the three colors I chose.

I'm sure there are enough angles on this card to please
Twisted Sister.
And I've followed the Retro Rubber Challenge #137 Sketch, too.

Additional challenges I am entering:

Ruff Day

Hoping you'll like another Father's Day card featuring Funny Pup, a Bugaboo digi image.  I used the female version on another card a few days ago.
This pooch is colored with pencils, except for his eyebrows.  I used a black gel pen for those to get them real black.

Crazy Bird Father's Day Card

Yesterday I cut a Father's Day sentiment on the cricut.
It was too big for my side fold card.
Then I cut a second one that fit on the card (see previous post)
and was left with the first one I had cut and the remainder of the piece of foil paper.  If you stop by regularly, you know that I don't like scraps.  I try to find a use for everything.
Luckily, the first sentiment I cut would fit on a top fold card.
The leftover foil was looking a bit crinkled.  Easy fix.  I just put it
in an embossing folder and crinkled it in a pattern.
I decided to pair the blue foil with a neon green card base.
I added the matching green bakers twine across the top,
but it still needed something....
That's when the very dapper, green plaid crazy bird entered the scene.  Works for me!

Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #253 - AG + a sentiment
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - something metallic
Simon Says Monday Challenge - It's a Man Thing

Ahoy! Happy Father's Day

It's a hot steamy day here.
That makes it an excellent day to stay in the AC and make cards.

Yesterday, my mother had an empty kleenix box on the kitchen table with a note for me... Can You Use This?
Silly Question.  It looks really good on this card.
Bugaboo digi image, Lawn Fawn AHOY stamp, Cricut cut clouds and conversation bubble.

Close up to show you the shiny glitter in the kleenix box and on the clouds.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #558

Welcome to my blog.
It's Tuesday and I have a new card for

Tuesday Morning Sketches to share with you.
Tuesday Morning Sketches
Melissa Craig supplied this week's sketch.  Thanks, Melissa!

One of my friends is celebrating her birthday today.  I thought I'd combine the occasion with my TMS card and make it extra special.
The card is actually a simple design, but decorating the envelope is something I normally forget to do.

Here is the inside of the card.

Now I had not planned on decorating the back of the card.
Unfortunately, I laid the card down at the wrong spot and the back had some blemishes.

It's not so easy to add sparkles or sequins to cover those little oopsies when they are on the back.  I used extra strong glue on this card in case Laurie was tempted to take it apart to reuse it.
She would certainly be surprised at what lies beneath!

I hope you'll play along at
Tuesday Morning Sketches
this week.

Double Diamond Easel Birthday Card

This card is for Rachel at Farmhouse Memories, which is a fabulous place to find scrapbook and card supplies and lots of fabrics in Paradise, PA.  Rachel is always there with a smile and tons of knowledge to help her customers.
I thought a special card was in order for this very special person.
How about a Double Diamond Easel Fold?
I even added a strip of matching CTMH dp to the envelope flap.
Rachel's birthday was today, so the card will be late when she receives it.

Birthday Ice Cream

It's such a beautiful day outside,
I'm afraid I'll have to make this post brief.

I came across a couple unfinished card fronts that only needed an image.  Bugaboo had the perfect digi to go with this ice cream paper from SU.
Looks like poor kitty may have a bit of a brain freeze!

Send a Smile 4 Kids June Challenge

The theme for the June Challenge at

is Cards 4 Teens and Tweens

or Anything Goes 4 Kids.

Don't you just love the vast selection of sneakers available today, especially the colors?  I've come to identify the boys on my grandson's soccer team by their shoes.
When I spied this paper in my stash, I knew it would be perfect for this month's theme.
