Triple Panel Stand Up Birthday Card

At least I think it's called a Triple Panel Stand Up Card.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
This card was for my mother's 89th birthday.
I wanted to show off the pretty chip board circle and sentiment that came with some very pretty papers and a lovely set of fairy stamps in my last Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

Birthday Peacocks

An uninvited flock of peacocks has decided to make the tree in my friend's yard their home.
For her birthday, I thought she needed a peacock on her card.

In fact, everyone who had birthdays this week also received a peacock card.  What fun stamps from MFT!

Double Trouble Challenge #31 Card 2 + CTMH Class 6/25/19

Adventure Awaits when it's summer and time to go on vacation.
This card, following a sketch #322 at
gives you a glimpse of the black and white patterned papers in the newest CTMH catalog.
It is also my second entry for the current

(FYI: The sailboat is a cut from the CTMH Flower Market cricut cartridge. And the heart embossing folder is also by CTMH. My apologies to Twisted Sister for the absence of a road sign.)

Punny cards + CTMH Card Class 6/18/19

The box of cards for SAS4Kids is slowly filling up,
and I'm making all the cards from a shoe box full of scraps I uncovered the other day.
What do you do with a partial piece of cow paper?
It did give me pause.  Then I could picture the perfect stamp.
But was it a stamp I had? or one I had seen on a card? or one I had maybe seen in a store?  The search began.  Lo and behold, I actually found the cow stamp I was searching for.

That's the end of the cow paper!
The stamp is by Inkadinkadoo.

Birthday Card Moving Slowly

Our new grandson-in-law recently had a birthday.  We didn't forget it.  We just didn't know about it.  And it has taken me a few days to make his card, but it is finally on its way.
The slow moving turtles, a CTMH stamp, are paper pieced with some of the scraps from the CTMH Joyful Stars Blog Hop card I posted here.

Double Trouble Challenge #31 - Wheely Great

The 2 projects I started last week are moving right along.
I am making some Thank You cards requested by my SAS4K volunteer and using up papers and partially made cards in a recently discovered shoe box.

This card uses a negative from a cricut cut
and a 2 small pieces of patterned paper that I saved.
The cute stamps and volkswagon die are from
Taylored Expressions.

Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #229 - Anything Goes Plus a Sentiment
Pile It On Challenge #155 - Transportation
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Tic Tac Toe (Left column: Sentiment, More than 2 Layers, Dry Embossing)

Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Woodwork (Juniper paper and ink)
Double Trouble Challenge #31 - Hit the Road  (I might be stretching the theme a bit, but a do have a car for traveling, arrows for directions, embossing and have entered PIO #155.)

A Place to Start Challenge - June Midway Inspiration

If you saw my post a couple weeks ago, you may remember that I'm Guest Designing for
Stencil Me In.
The month is quickly slipping by, but you still have time to grab your favorite stencil and join the fun.

For this card, I used a brass stencil to create the hummingbird and flowers image and sponged the colors.  The flowers and the bird's wings have a pretty shimmer from a coating of Wink of Stella.
The inside has a computer printed sympathy sentiment.

Bird Thank Yous

Right now I'm working on 2 projects simultaneously.  I am making some Thank You cards requested by my SAS4K volunteer and using up papers and partially made cards in a recently discovered shoe box.   This card started out with a stamped image on a piece of cs rescued from "the box".
I colored the hummer with watercolor pencils,
added some layers, a sentiment and a bow.

This next card began as a piece of paper from "the box", saved from a Thank You card I received in the mail, with a circular hole in the middle where the Thank You had been.
I made a frame for the aperture, stamped the CTMH bird in the center of the card base, colored the bird, paper pieced the banner, embossed the background, sponged the edges, added the twine before gluing it to the card base and popped on some enamel dots.

Card #1 Challenges
Aud Sentiments Challenge #229 - AG + a sentiment
Cuttlebug Mania - Tic Tac Toe (I used the top line, sentiment, image, and die cut.)

Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Come Fly with Me

Card #2 Challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - 3 B's, Birds, bees and/or butterflies
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge - at least 25% light blue/aqua
The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge -  (I used, diagonally, Thanks, Banner, Emboss.)
 #JOSTTT006 Challenge Grid

Thanks for dropping by today.
Please come again.
Who knows what else I'll find in "the box".

Joyful Stars Close To My Heart June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June
Close to My Heart Joyful Stars Blog Hop.

Have some fun hopping between the blogs of this group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, where we share creative projects using CTMH products.
The new catalog is out so I'm sure you'll be seeing lots of new products.

In fact, I've used all new papers to make this Father's Day card.
(I also used the CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge to cut the letters, a retired CTMH stamp set for the circle frame and sentiment, stitched circle dies, and burlap ribbon.)

Now, since this is a blog hop,
you might have arrived here from  Joyce Gough's blog.
Your next stop is Marie Flayer's blog.
The hop is circular.
If you are just starting here,
simply continue hopping until you find your way back,
making the full circle.

Another Wedding Card

It's that time of year!
June was traditionally the most popular wedding month.
Not so any more.
September and October are now the top months.

With all the weddings that once took place in June,
I'm in need of more anniversary than wedding cards this month.
And I know of one very special one that I should get working on!

After I quickly enter this in these challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Wedding/Anniversary
Fab n Funky Challenge #443 - Something New (I've used a beautiful new lace die from Paper Rose.)
Scrapy Land Challenge #115 - AG  with a die SL sells (Paper Rose, lace; Spellbinders, banner)

Baseball Card

It's that time of year.
We spend a lot of time going to my grandson's baseball games,  and as far as we are concerned, he is always a winner!
But this card won't go to our grandson.  Yesterday I packed up a box of cards to mail off to SAS4K.  This card will start a new box and eventually will go to a child in one of the children's hospitals that SAS4K supports.
I've used a House Mouse stamp and paper pieced the image, the "Hooray" is a 2 pieced Honey Bee Die, and the stitch frame is a My Favorite Things Die.

Challenges:
House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #292 - AG + optional: Use patterned paper
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - For a Man/Boy
Unicorn Challenge #44 - For Men or Boys
Papercraft Challenge #38 - For Men or Boys

Double Trouble Challenge #30

Challenge #30 at Double Trouble stipulates no designer paper in the background.  Instead they'd like to see stencil/embossing techniques.  The optional twist is to use an animal found on Old MacDonald's Farm.  And for an extra chance to win, enter your card in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies June Challenge.

As a starting point,
I also decided to use the newest Mojo Monday Sketch

Now, I'm off to run the vacuum before I get anywhere near my craft table or I will never get it done!
Have a wonderful day!

A Place to Start June Guest Designer

A while ago I discovered a new challenge blog called A Place to Start.   Not only is it a great challenge blog, but it is a great place to find sketches, techniques, tutorials, and a wealth of information about inks, tools, coloring....

This month I'll be Guest Designing for their June Challenge -
Stencil Me In.

I only have a couple stencils.  Most of the time I use a negative from die cutting or from cutting on the cricut as a stencil.
Today I used an actual stencil that came with a stamp set and sponged it with various colored inks to make this fun card.

The Pinwheel Monster is from 2 Cute Ink digital stamps.

I'll be sharing this card at a few other challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge - For a Man or Boy
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #175 - For a Man/Boy
Stamping Sensations Challenge - Lots of Color
Die Cut Divas Challenge - Birthdays
Dies R Us Challenge #122 - Kids (The HB die was a magazine freebie; the scalloped square die is MFT.)
Cut It Up Challenge #175 - Birthdays

I hope you all have a lovely day and can take some time to check out and maybe enter the challenge at

SAS4K June Challenge

As most of my friends and frequent visitors know, the majority of the cards I make go in a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids, an organization which supplies cards to various children's hospitals across the United States.  Earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised to be asked to join the SAS4K Challenge Design Team.

The June Challenge is Cards for Teens.
I have 3 teenage grandsons and kept them in mind when creating this card.

I stamped this cute pooch from Tim Holtz's Crazy Dogs stamp set on kraft paper and fussy cut.  I also stamped his head on a piece of white scrap, colored the collar red, then fussy cut and paper pieced the collar and his eyes.  I gave his dog tag a touch of gold Wink of Stella and added drops of Liquid Glass on his eyes and nose for shine and dimension.  The "SUP" stamp is from the Tim Holtz Hipsters set.  Papers are from a Kaiser Craft paper pack called Gypsy Rose.

I hope you will enjoy seeing the cards I post for SAS4K
as much as I enjoy making them.
If you are interested in making and donating cards to SAS4K, you can find all the information you need right here.
