Another Craft Table Discovery

Monday I taught a card workshop for some of my Red Hat friends.  Today I finally got around to unpacking everything, putting things back where they belong, and straightening up my craft (dining room) table.   In the process, I found this House Mouse image, colored, die cut and ready to go on a card.  So I took a brief time out to make this card.

Papers, border, sequins, and twine are CTMH.  Dies are from MFT.  Words are com0puter generated.
I may have to save this card for next year because all my grandsons went back to school already.
Challenges:
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes for Kids
Craft Your Passion Challenge #327 - Always Anything Goes
Scrapy Land Challenge #48 - Use an Image (The dies I used are by Die-namics)

??????????????????????

If you are wondering what was in all those purple paper bags at the top of this post, they contained all the supplies to make the 4 cards at the Red Hat cardmaking get together.
Here are the samples....

I just fell in love with this flowered paper and bought just a few sheets.  But I managed to stretch just a few sheets into the makings for 4 dozen cards.  I even have a bit leftover.
Which do you like best?  The gals liked the circle card and the quilt pattern card the most.

I'll be back tomorrow with photos of the cards we made at
Joyce's weekly CTMH card class yesterday.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #309 with Fred She Said

It's Tuesday and time for a new Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  Our theme for this week is Clean and Simple.  Because C&S cards are such quick makes,
and since I really like this Old Truck digi set
I was so generously given by our sponsor,
I got a bit carried away and made 4 cards.
I used pre-colored images, but you can also print up the uncolored version and do your own coloring.

I am submitting this card to the challenges listed at the bottom of this post.

My Tuesday Throwdown Team B teamies all made fabulous cards using a variety of digis, all from Fred She Said, to inspire you to enter this week's challenge and stop by Fred She Said
I hope you'll have time to whip up something clean and simple, too.  If you're lucky, you may be this week's winner.

Challenges into which I am entering the top card:
One Stitch at a Time Challenge #269 - Anything Goes + For Men
Craft Your Passion Challenge #327 - Always Anything Goes
Sunny Day Challenge #12 - Always Anything Goes
Digi Choosday Challenge Week #35 - Always Anything Goes
Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #281 - Anything Goes (I used scalloped square frames dies made by Dienamics from MFT.)
City Crafter Challenge Week 327 - Birthday Wishes
Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge  #135 - Something beginning with an "f" (frames)

Mojo Monday Simple Z-fold

Oh, my!  I didn't get my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card finished until late this afternoon.  I'm really going to have to step up the pace for fall, because the sun is already setting earlier and I had a difficult time photographing my card.  Where did the summer go?

Today's Mojo sketch is for a tall and skinny card.   I decided to go with a simple z-fold card; using a 10.5 x 5.5 card base, it is 3.5 x 5.5 when folded in thirds.

I used a Bo Bunny paper pack and CTMH Happy Birthday stamp.

The little jar, label and topper are SNS stamps; the birthday sentiment is from Stampendous.

Poolside Penguins

Most of our local schools are back in session next week.
Those hot summer days of floating in the pool are coming to an end, as well.  Fall is fast approaching.  Today, I thought I'd get one more summer birthday card posted.  It features a precolored digi from the Poolside Penguins Set by Imagine That!
Challenges:
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes 4 Kids
Craft Rocket Challenge #22 - Things with Wings  (I looked it up.  Penguins do have wings.  But they have been adapted for swimming rather than flying.  So this little guy should qualify for your challenge.)
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #171 - By/Under the Sea
Gem of a Challenge #176 - Summer Fun
PDE Linky Party #135 - Bold Bright Colors
Polkadoodles Craft Challenge Week 34 - Something beginning with an "f" (floating penguin;flame)

Well, that's enough of that.
I am actually in the middle of cleaning my house
and just took a break for some ice coffee and this blog post.

Who Stole the Cookie?

Have you ever read the children's book, Who Stole the Cookie?
It's one of those rhyming books that stays with you forever.
We've enjoyed reading it with all of our grandchildren, and now our great granddaughter, too.
The digi image
I used for this birthday card reminds me of that book.

Challenges:
Seize the  Birthday Challenge - Birthday + Tags, little or big

CTMH Card Class + free for all 8/23/16

The first card we made yesterday, under Joyce's tutelage, included  flowers from the new CTMH Flower Market Cricut Cartridge.

The sentiment stamp also comes with the cartridge bundle.
The next 2 cards we made using scraps and then one of the new word thinlits with the cuttlebug to die cut it.
We actually used the resulting negative for our cards.

Most of the other gals added very pretty cricut cut flowers to their cards.  Being the rebel of the group, I thought I'd make more masculine cards.

We still had the die cut "hello"s to make 2 more cards.  It was free-for-all time.  Joyce made lots of scraps and card bases available to us and we were on our own.
Here's the first card I made.
I had it mostly laid out at Joyce's and then brought it home where I added the embossing and punched border across the bottom.

For my final card, which I just finished up this morning, I used an oval negative found in Joyce's scraps and strips of fundamental papers from my stash.

The Cardz 4 Guys Challenge requires the addition of a furry friend, so I added the cute CTMH stamped monkey.  I not only fussy cut the little guy, but paper pieced the banana he is holding with his tail.  I am being to think I am certifiable.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #134 - include a furry friend
The East Wind Challenge #51 - Paper Piecing
One Stitch at a Time Challenge #269 - Anything Goes for Men
Aud Sentiments Challenge # 162 - For the Men + sentiment

Mojo Monday Decoupage Card

Using a freebie decoupage paper pack, Wild Rose Bluebells, from my Quick Cards magazine, I started out making a Mojo Monday birthday card for my SIL.  Unfortumately, when I finished it, I decided I liked the card more than my SIL.  But, it will be perfect for one of my favorite Red Hat friends.
(I found another card in my stash that will be just fine for my SIL.)
(The sentiment stamp is CTMH)

Challenges:

The decoupage kit actually has 6 layers to this adorable fawn.  On the card above I only used 3.  Why?  Well, I'm a bit frugal.  If I do 6 layers with 1/8" foam tape in between, the card will be too thick for regular mail and I'd have to make a trip to the post office and pay extra postage.  But if I only do 3 layers, I can send it through regular mail, walk it out to the mailbox and I have 3 layers left to make a second card!
(Butterfly frame and sentiment are CTMH stamps.)
Challenges:
Pearly Sparkles Challenge #7 - Happy Anything + pearls
Sparkles Forum Challenge #83 - Lots of Layers

Mojo Monday #461 on Thursday

We took a few days and headed to Ocean City, NJ with my son and his family.  Consequently, my Mojo Monday card is a bit late.
I tried to do it last evening but it just wasn't coming together the way I would have liked.  Today I scrapped that plan and started over.  Here's the completed card....
I used a technique called inlaid embossing on the background.  First I random stamped the butterfly image on the white cs.  Next I glued on the 4 smaller cricut cut flowers.  Then I embossed it.  You can barely tell that the flowers were glued on, even up close.

Challenges:

Fab n Funky Challenge #316 - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart Challenge #123 - Always Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion Challenge #325 - Always Anything Goes
Ooh La La Creations Challenge #211 - 3 Embellishments (black gems, clear gems, bow)
Creatilicious Challenge #97 - Anything Goes with Black,White and 1 color

* Stamps used are all from CTMH.  The flowers are cricut cuts from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Embossing folder is from SU.  Black ribbon, gingham fabric tape and gems are from my stash.

Double Skirt folds find a home

Normally, on a Monday, you'd be looking at a card inspired by the newest Mojo Monday Sketch.
I'm taking a break from the norm and showing you some cards I made during a recent cleaning of the craft table.  I really, really like these skirt folds and was just playing around making them one day.  The good news is - I've finally used them to make cards.
The bad news is - there are more!

I'll be back later this week with a Mojo Monday card.
Promise!

Animal Border Card

All these little critters from the CTMH Animal Greetings Stamp Set were stamped on different colors of scrap paper with a few touches of marker added here and there.  Next I fussy cut them all.  They spent a few days on the craft table before I decided what to do with them.  Here's where they ended up.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day.

Way to Go, Kitty!

A good part of my morning was spent tidying up my craft table.  And then....
I saw a post by my friend, Karen.  She has reached a lofty 400 blog followers!  in 3 short years!!!
Here I sit with all of 131 followers.
She's doing something right!
So here's to you and your wonderful blog.
I'm so happy we've become blogging friends!
I have no clue what brand of stamp the cat is, but it took all my strength to separate it from the backing sheet to put on a block.  The "Congrats" is a CTMH stamp. Pink circle was punched; white one is a CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cut.

To celebrate her accomplishment KT Fit Kitty, as she is known by most of us, is having a giveaway.
Check out the cute badge she designed, herself.

Please take a moment to visit Karen's blog, KT Fit Kitty,  and maybe you could win one of the prizes she's giving away.
