Center Step Gift Card

If you subscribe to the Splitcoast Stampers Weekly Inkling Newsletter, you may have seen the tutorial for this
Center Step Gift Card.

This CTMH Festive Friendship paper is one of my favorites.
I love a navy/yellow color combination.  And, I was big fan of the Pemberly paper.  But, the Festive Friendship may have moved Pemberly one step down on my All Time Favorites list.
Why? It has tea cup paper.

In making this birthday card, I fussy cut the tea cup full of flowers from one of the project life cards included in the paper pack.
I also cut the little birthday tag (CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge)
from one of the cards.

The little inside pocket is just perfect for the little Birthday Prayer card that I wanted to send.

This card is my monthly contribution to the
heARTful stamping challenge.
The theme is always Anything Goes.
Hope you'll join the fun.

One more Christmas card this week...
I wish it could even begin to compare with the fantastic projects displayed on the Simon Says: Christmas in July Blog Hop.

Color Challenge using a Bugaboo oldie.

Bugaboo Christmas in July Day #4 + Double Trouble Challenge #5 Card #2

Today I decided to combine the Catch the Bug Challenge with the Double Trouble Challenge.
And I am doing it with a miserable summer cold, which is a challenge in and of itself.
The Bugaboo Christmas in July Challenge has provided a Bingo board for everyone to use for Day #4.

And Double Trouble #5 is also celebrating Christmas in July + a sentiment, with a fancy fold twist and an extra entry if you link to the Anything Goes Christmas in July Heart 2 Heart Challenge.

I decided to make a simple gift card holder.

When you open the card the inside pocket with the gift card is exposed.

Challenges I am entering .....
Catch the Bug Tuesday Bingo Challenge - I used the center row down- Die Cut, Bugaboo Image, and Pink Striped Washi Tape.
Double Trouble Challenge #5 - Christmas in July with a sentiment + a fun fold
Heart2Heart Challenge - Anything Goes Christmas in July (stamp, washi tape and glitter tape are CTMH)
52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge - Non traditional Christmas (hot pink and lime green are a bit non  traditional)
Fussy & Fancy Challenge #216 - Green and Pink
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Crafty Christmas
A Snowflakes Promise Challenge #53 - AG
Die Cut Divas Challenge #379 - Christmas in July (scalloped frame)
Christmas with the Cuties Challenge #18 - Add some Sparkle

I'm sure the gals at Joyce's CTMH card class are having fun and making lovely cards.  Although we share many things around Joyce's craft table, I decided NOT to share this miserable cold.

Bugaboo Christmas in July Day # 3

Today's Fun Christmas in July with Bugaboo Stamps excludes cards.
So, with a piece of dp, several folds and a few snips, I've made a simple box.  Since my grown grandsons perfer cash for Christmas,  this box is the perfect size to hold a few rolled bills tied with holiday ribbon.

This is my entry for:
Dragonfly Journeys Challenge #123 - Christmas in July
Winter Wonderland Challenge - Christmas Gifts
Aud Sentiments Challenge #208 - Christmas + a sentiment
As You Like It Challenge - Ribbons or Buttons  (Definitely ribbons.  Poking that ribbon through the holes of the button was not easy.  Tying a bow is a snap.)

Beach Birthday and CTMH Card Class 7/17/2018

Before someone chastises me for neglecting to post the cards from Joyce's class on Tuesday, here they are:

Cute, huh?
*************
Yesterday I taught a class for some of my Red Hat gals.
(I'll show you those cards another day.)
While I was preparing for that class, I made this card using some  leftover items.  After I had it made, I decided I liked it better than the one I had already designed and cut for the class.

Challenges:
As You Like It Challenge - Ribbons or Buttons  (Definitely ribbons!  Buttons are lumpy for mailing and, in my opinion, always look better when there is thread in the holes.  Too much trouble threading a needle.)
Southern Girls Challenge - Tic Tac Toe (I'm using a Happy Birthday die cut and a stitched frame die cut; a CTMH lighthouse stamp, and blue.)
Time Out Challenge #114 - Photo Inspiration (I was inspired by the colors and the beachy feel of the photo)

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use a die and/or punch (I used a die for the words and the center image.)
Cards in Envy Challenge - On the beach (lighthouse, sand, grass and fence)
Use Your Stuff Challenge #321 - Birthday (I think a day at the beach would be a perfect way to spend a birthday.)

That's it for today.  I need to take a book outside and enjoy this beautiful day.

Double Trouble Challenge #5

It's been a little hectic around here.  I managed to get a card made yesterday for the new Double Trouble Challenge #5, but I didn't have time to post it until now.

This week Double Trouble is celebrating Christmas in July along with the Heart2Heart Challenge with a fancy fold twist.
And just for fun, I thought I'd use the colors for the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #301, too.
Here is my z fold card.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I followed Sketch #273 from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

The poinsettia and word 'Noel' are from the CTMH Flower Market cricut cartridge, while the four oval cuts are from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I'll also be entering these challenges
Crafter's Castle Challenge #7 - AG; option of Christmas in July
Shopping Our Stash Challenge - Christmas in July

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #401 with Kitty Bee Designs

Today a new challenge begins at Tuesday Throwdown.
Our wonderful sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs, has supplied two cute digi stamps for Team B to use for this week's
Stitching, Real or Faux, Challenge.
I just couldn't resist trying them both.

My first card features the Panda Trike digi from Kitty Bee Designs.  I used a stitched die and also pierced 3 sides of the black mat before connecting the holes with a glitter pen to give the appearance of thread.

For my second card I used stitched dies and added just a bit of real stitching in the corners of this birthday card featuring Jazz Cats.

Kitty Bee Designs has some of the cutest animal digis out there.  Be sure to check their Etsy Shop.  They also have weekly challenges on their blog.

And, please, hop over to Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog to see the fun cards my teammates made to inspire you to join this week's Stitching Challenge.

What was this for?

Did you ever find something in your stash
that made you scratch your head?
When going through some images the other day,
I came across 4 pieces of dp all cut to the same size
and 4 matching scalloped borders???
I had no memory of what I had intended to do
with these mystery pieces.
This is what I decided to make (x4):
Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #215 - Dies and/or Punches (I used 1 of each)
Unstampabelles Challenge #81 - Fancy Frame or Borders

Thanks for stopping by!

Joyful Stars Close to My Heart July Blog Hop

Welcome to the July

Close to My Heart Joyful Stars Blog Hop.

Have some fun hopping between the blogs of this group of talented Close to My Heart consultants, and me, where we share creative projects using CTMH products.
And, there's a new girl in town!
We are welcoming CTMH consultant Joyce Gough to our monthly hop.
This card uses CTMH Beautiful Friendship papers and stamps from the Festive Birthday Workshop Your Way.  The design is also from the workshop kit, although I made a few minor changes.

This card will be one of the 4 that I make with my Red Hat friends later this month.
I stamped a dozen of those tiny 3/4" cupcakes, fussy cut and assembled them.
But, when I put the individual kits together I was missing one.
I can't find it anywhere.
Don't you just hate when that happens?
And then you find it in the strangest place.

Now, since this is a blog hop,

you might have arrived here from  Andrea Sherman's blog.
Your next stop is Marie Flayer's blog.

The hop is circular.  If you are just starting here, simply continue hopping until you find your way back,
making the full circle.
If you get lost, the complete list of participants is on

Double Trouble #4 Card 2

Thank you for stopping by to check out the Thank You card I made for the Double Trouble Recipe Challenge:
 3 colors; a 2 word sentiment; and 1 image

I chose Bashful, Pacifica and Mink as my 3 colors, so I can also enter the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge.
Image may contain: text
At the request of the Twisted Sister, the tea cup and flower were heat embossed in clear and the bashful square and pacifica banner were dry embossed, although I'm using the debossed side.
And, I'm also using Sketch # 272 from the

Additional Challenges I am entering:
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Flowers + a Sentiment (on the tea cup and embossed square)
CASual Fridays Challenge #203 - heat embossing (tea cup outline  and flowers)

My next post will be for the July Close to My Heart Blog Hop.
 I hope you'll come back.

One Thing Leads to Another

I started out making this card for my niece.

and ended up making a few more cards.....

The Mickey Mouse background for my niece's card was originally part of  a magazine advertisement.  Since Jenny is a big Mickey Mouse fan, I put it aside for her birthday card.
The sentiment is a Rubbernecker stamp and matching die, which I popped using a piece of craft foam also cut with the die.
Sparkles of various colors finished off the card.
I am entering it in the following challenges:

To make the eight card grouping, I used every bit of 1 sheet of double sided patterned paperEach card features the same Rubberneckers Happy Birthday Sentiment stamp, using both the positive and negatives of the die cut.  They all have one of Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds, complete with party hat, watercolored and fussy cut.
These will go on the pile for Send a Smile 4 Kids.
I think they will make great teen cards.
