Double Trouble Challenge #51

Today I made a relatively simple card for the new
(LET'S GO GREEN | Optional Twist include GOLD | OPT. 3 JOIN HEART2HEART with PUT YOUR GREEN ON)

First I die cut the square out of the center of the plaid paper using a die from MFT.  I cut a piece for behind the square and embossed it.  Using CTMH thin cuts stitched hearts, I cut 8 hearts, folding 4 of them in half, and arranged them on the squared, adding the stem which is actually a die cut tree trunk, but it works.   To finish that section of the card I punched a circle from a tiny scrap of CTMH holographic paper.  Finally, I heat embossed the Lawn Fawn sentiment in gold.

I am also entering these fun challenges:
Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Put Your Green On
Cuttlebug Tuesday Challenge - Tic Tac Toe (Embossing folder, Die Cut, Circle)

Aud Sentiments Challenge #245 - AG with a Sentiment

This ladybug smells.

Ladybugs don't normally smell.  This one, however, was colored with a raspberry scented crayola marker.  Hence, it smells.  I don't even know the origin of that marker, or how it got in my craft stuff, but it was there, I used it and the ladybug smells.
The rest of this Bugaboo digi stamp was colored with normal, unsmelly markers, with the exception of the bear.  He was colored with pencils blended with Gamsol.  The sentiment frame and words are CTMH stamps.

By the way,
Happy St, Patrick's Day!

We had a quick moving storm pass through earlier today followed by bright sunshine and a gorgeous double rainbow.
How fitting for St. Patrick's Day and confusing for the leprechauns.

Today, I am entering these challenges:
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #146 - Green as main color with ribbon
Creatalicious Challenge #87 - St. Patrick's Day or use Green
Digi Stamps 4 Joy Challenge #122 - Anything Goes w/ twist: add an animal
Open-minded Crafting Fun Challenge #3 - Luck/St. Patrick's Day

Super Easy Card

This precolored digi image from TLC Creations, St. Patrick's Day Mail Vintage, makes a super easy card.  I used a CTMH stamp to add the sentiment, backed the image with some pink CS to pick up the pink in the birds, used a kraft card base, and added a green woven ribbon bow.  TLC has great vintage images and gives out lots of freebies.  I got this image 2 years ago but don't know if it is still available.

TLC is having a spring blog hop shortly.  You might want to mark your calendars.

Challenges I am entering today include:
Crafty Friends Challenge #27 - Anything Goes
Crafting with Friends Challenge #16 - Anything Goes
Pattie's Creations Challenge #120 - Green
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #136 - Show Me the Green with Ribbon or Trim

CTMH Cards 3/17/15 & Enough Green, Already!

First, here are the cards we made at Joyce's CTMH card workshop this afternoon....

Whew! that was a lot of work!

 *****

Now, let's get to the green.  I know today is St. Patrick's Day.  I will be making corned beef and cabbage for dinner.  Why?  No clue.  Mostly because I like it and while it isn't one of my DH's favorites, he will humor me once a year.
(I really cheated this year.  I went to the deli at the market, asked to see what the corned beef looked like, it was beautiful, had them cut me a 1" slice, and that's dinner.  I just wasn't into cooking corned beef for hours.  Plus, they sell it in those vacumn sealed packages and you can't tell how lean or fatty the meat actually is.)
Many of the current challenges want to see green cards, or St. Patrick's Day themed cards i.e. leprechauns, shamrocks, luck, pot of gold...  I haven't seen one with a snake theme.  Didn't St. Patrick chase the snakes out of Ireland?   If you're curious about the snake issue, I felt compelled to google it and found this very interesting.  Be that as it may.  Personally, I have never sent a St. Patrick's Day card to anyone.  But I have made one, in honor of the occasion and to enter in the plethora (That was one of my father's favorite words.  Miss you, Dad.) of challenges requesting it.
I've used a Doodle Pantry digi for the shamrock maze and sentiment.

Artist Trading Cards

ATC's aren't something I normally do.  But I'm headed to the Heirloom Rubber Stamps Show in Allentown, PA, this weekend and there's always an ATC contest.  The theme this year is Irish Luck.   The competition is fierce, so I'll be needin' a bit o' luck meself, if I'm to be winnin'.

The poker player is a stamp from Stamper's Best.  I stamped it a few times so I could fussy cut and add a few more coin piles.  My DH suggested the gold tooth. The shamrock stamp is from CTMH.
For the next ATC  I used some vintage playing card paper I found in my stash.  I cut a tag with shamrock aperture using the Artiste CTMH cricut cartridge.  Then I stamped CTMH images of a ticket and shamrock with sentiment and fussy cut.  Everything was distressed with green ink.
The cute little piggy will be lucky indeed if he collects any kisses.  After all, he is a pig.  He's a From the Heart digi image.  The sentiment is a rub on, and the shamrock is CTMH.
And the last card has gold textured paper under the white cardstock background.  I took a few different CTMH ink pads (sweet leaf, ponderosa pine, olive green, creme brulee) and smeared them across the CS before random stamping the CTMH shamrocks, punching the corners and adding a piece of sheer green ribbon.  I used a wood stamp I found in a dollar bin at ACMoore and 2nd generation stamped it on white CS.  Then I stamped half of the CTMH sentiment over it.    The second half of the CTMH sentiment was stamped over another solid shamrock.  I spritzed both with gold mist and then cut them out.  The cloud/rainbow/pot of gold is another CTMH stamp which I colored, fussy cut and then added glitter to the gold and glaze to the pot.

I am going to enter the Pot of Gold ATC in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #102 - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge #168 - Anything Goes
Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge #127 - Leprechauns/Luck

Top of the Mornin'

Theodore-Shamrocks is the name of this cute Irish teddy from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.

There's no patterned paper on this card, just white CS distressed with green and blue, and a bit o' green CS for the punched border, a few gems and gold corner dazzles.

this card in the following challenges:

From the Heart Mojo

The freebie Hamlet Pigwit images for the From the Heart Progressive Challenge are so cute this month.  If you're not playing along with this challenge, you are really missing out.

I've used one of the images on the card I am entering in the Monday Mojo Sketch Contest # 335.

I'm not Irish, although I am feeling a wee bit lucky this morning.  The 3 to 6 inches of snow the weather forecasters predicted turned out to be a dusting in our area.   The vertigo that plagued me all last week has departed.  And today I'm a Guest Designer at Love to Scrap! for their Back It Up! challenge.

I have some sewing to do today.  I'll show it to you eventually.

Have a great my crafty friends!

Stop back tomorrow for my Tuesday Throwdown Design Team card.  It's a special fold using 2 Robyn's Fetish images.
