Tuesday Morning Sketches
Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for

Here's the sketch for this week and my card.

I do think they are fun to make and
I have some great papers and stamps to use.
These papers and the Halloween sentiment are from CTMH.
The spider is an Inkadinkado stamp.  I stamped and heat embossed the image, black on black.  The background is dry embossed.

I hope you'll play along at
this week.
The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.

Catch the Bug Saturday Challenge

Weekly Challenge!

What will this photo inspire you to make for this week's challenge at

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog?

Some schools are open in our area, some are partially open, and some are totally virtual.  The big yellow buses are out and about. Hopefully, by the time the leaves have turned, the schools may be back on a more normal schedule.  And when that happens, students, parents and teachers will all be yelling Hooray!

Here's what the photo inspired me to make using Bugaboo image Kidz School Bus:

The image was colored with markers and I did some paint smooshing to create the background paper before embossing and die cutting.

Hope you'll join the fun at this week's at

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog's

 Inspiration Challenge
They have a fabulous design team, displaying wonderful projects there for your enjoyment and inspiration.

I have had a wonderful time being a Guest Designer for September.

Simple Thanks

This late evening post is a simple card made for two challenges,

My Favorite Things Color Challenge # 150,

and Freshly Made Sketches # 454.

The letter die is from MFT.

MFT Sketch Challenge

Here is my card for this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge at

My Favorite Things.

The stamps and ric-rac die are from MFT.

This is a sketch supplied:

This photo shows the great shine on the peacock from a heavy covering of Wink of Stella,

which also helps blend the colors.

I wanted to use a lot of bright, happy colors on this bird day card to enter it in the Celebration Challenge at Seize the Birthday.  The inspiration graphic (pictured below) is a wonderful blending of colors, just like the tail of a peacock and the flowered background I've chosen.

Challenges:

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #508 - see above; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Animal Antics; Di's Digi Challenge - Winged/Tailed Things; AAA Birthday Card Challenge #17 - Animals/Critters;

and Seize the Birthday Challenge - Special 200th Challenge!  (see above).

Double Trouble Challenge #67

This week I've made a second card for the

Double Trouble Challenge,

which I will also be entering in the partner challenge,

 Try Stamping on Tuesday.

It is for my older brother's 70th birthday and features a Bugaboo Stamp, Gus Birthday Optional.

The image was colored with markers, then partially fussy cut before being die cut.

The card front is an inch longer than the back allowing an extra fold on one side.

This is the inside of the card.  The sentiment comes with the digi stamp.

I love these dinos on wheels. (CTMH paper)  And I enjoy reminding my brother he is reaching dinosaur status.

Tuesday Morning Sketches
Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card

Here's my card for this week and Melissa's fun sketch.

Challenges I am entering:

The Paper Girls Challenge #208 - Pick 3 (I've chosen velum, polka dots and lots of layers.); Get Creative Challenge #95 - Black + one other color (I've used orange.); Everybody Art Challenge #475 - Orange and Black; Shopping Our Stash Challenge #429 - Make a mess (I took this challenge very literally.  Are you familiar with the mess a dried out sponge dauber can make?  Especially one that's been in black ink?  It totally disintegrates into tiny pieces all over your project when you use it!  You can't brush them off or they leave streaks! I had to use a bigger sponge tool on the paper to try and camouflage the mess, when all I intended to do was distress the edge. Yep. I made a mess.)

Double Trouble Challenge #67 Conumdrum

 So here's the thing...

Double Trouble Challenge is using the theme

On, Off or Over the Edge

for their current challenge

and have partnered with Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge.

However, TSOT does not start until tomorrow.  Now do I post my card today at DTC only, or wait until tomorrow and post it at TSOT, too.  But, I already have my TMS post scheduled for tomorrow.

What to do? What to do?

Oh, what the heck... here's my card.

Not much to explain on this one - 3 stitched circle die cuts from La La Land, one off the edge; a Happy Birthday die cut, also off the edge; 2 pieces of scrap patterned paper; a piece of scrap black cs stock in the middle to cover an empty spot left by the patterned paper; a skinny piece of washi tape across the black; and the number 16 die cut from a scrap of black and a scrap of foam to pop it up.

Challenges:

Double Trouble Challenge #67 - On, Off or Over the Edge; Off the edge die cuts; Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Masculine; Dies R Us Challenge #153 - One for the Boys; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- No Stamps Allowed; Try It On Tuesday - Use Your Scraps (Everything came out of my scrap bags except the card base and the washi tape.)

Shades of Purple

Today's card was inspired by the newest "Less is More" Challenge.  Their theme is simply Shades of Purple, which reminds me of the purple stock I planted in my front flower bed that is just now beginning to fill out.

There is a pile of odds and ends on my craft table which I try to pull from as much as possible.  In it I found this little punched oval stamped with flowers.  On the reverse was a partial sentiment which I clearly messed up.  My guess is that I used the back of that stamped sentiment to test the flowered stamp and then decided to punch the oval for later use.  I used various markers to color the flowers and then glued it to a purple oval that was inlaid on the card front.  The sentiment is from CTMH, also stamped in purple.

Not only is the card clean and simple, but my craft table remained pretty clean as well!

Challenges:

Less is More Challenge #428 - Shades of Purple; Allsorts Challenge Week #590 - My Lovely Garden; Crafty Chicks Challenge 525 Week 3 - Clean and Simple; Try It On Tuesday Challenge - Use Your Scraps

Where did this come from?

Please don't ask where I got this gorgeous owl stamp because I have no clue.  I also have no idea why it was on my craft table this morning.  The little plastic bag must have stuck to the stamps I got out to use yesterday.  But it was there and I figured I'd just go with it to make a card using the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

(Leaves and sentiment are CTMH stamps.)

This is a great sketch for a CAS card.

The little leaves, sentiment and owl are all heat embossed with  copper embossing powder.  I wanted to put the owl on a branch.  By very carefully positioning the embossing folder on the card and barely cranking the handle on my Cuttlebug, I was able to just get two branches on the paper.  I was shooting for one, but settled for two.  Then I could perch the fussy cut owl on top.

Works for me!

Challenges I am entering include:

Sketch Saturday Week 627 - see sketch above; Allsorts Challenge Week 589 - I Love... owls and dry embossing; My Time to Craft Week 440 - Embossing (I used wet and dry.); Di's Digi Challenge - Winged and/or Tailed things; YNS Challenge #147 - Keep On Keeping It Clean; Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday September Challenge - Things with Wings; Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge #253 - Monochrome (Copper); Cuttlebug Mania Tuesday Challenge - AG (I used the CB to emboss the branches.); Through the Craft Room Door Challenge Week of September 15th - AG; Sweet Stampers Challenge #48 - Things with Wings; Stamping Sensations September Challenge - The Great Outdoors
