Turning 6

It is hard to believe that my sweet great granddaughter is turning 6 next week.  But she is.  There's no stopping it.
Little ones grow up way too fast!
Every year I have been using digital images from Beccy's Quilted Numbers Digital Set for Laila's birthday card.
Here's her card for 2020.

Challenges:
Beccy's Place February Challenge - AG with a Beccy's Place image
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use 2 or more patterned papers

 Happy Birthday, Laila!

Turning 5 Birthday Card

It's hard to believe that my great-granddaughter, Laila, will be turning 5 in another week!
I always use a digital number from the Quilted Numbers set created by Beccy Muir to make Laila's cards.

You can view last year's card here or click the Laila Label on my right side bar.

Challenges:
Beccy's Place February Challenge - Use an image from Beccy's Place
Seize the Birthday Challenge #158 - AG optional Black & White
Southern Girls Challenge - Animal Antics

Here's a recent picture of our little monkey:

New Big Sister Card

My goal today was to make a birthday card for my son who will be marking another year in a few days.  Unfortunately, my head is a bit fuzzy from cold medicine and my creativity went in a whole different direction.....

(The card is lying on a piece of red cs for the photo so you can see how the front window exposes the inside image.)

My second great granddaughter was born over the week-end, promoting my first great granddaughter to Big Sister.
I know she will be a wonderful big sister, although I hope she doesn't carry her new baby sister in the same manner she carries her dolls.
Quite a while ago, I won this Mo Manning stamp but haven't used it until now.  It captures Laila's hair perfectly.

Her new baby sister has quite a head of hair herself, also very dark, but very straight.

The die cuts for the flowers and the letters are from
My Favorite Things
The stitched circle dies are from La La Land
The CONGRATULATIONS stamp is from the
CTMH January SOTM.

Challenges:

Allsorts Challenge Week #501 - Hearts and Flowers (heart paper, die cut flowers and stamped flowers)
Challenge Up Your Life Challenge #103 - All New (new big sister, new sentiment stamp)
Die Cut Divas January Challenge - Something New (new big sister, new sentiment stamp)
Scrapy Land Challenge #105 - AG with a die sold by Scrapy Land (La La Land)

Hopefully, I'll get that Birthday Card made tomorrow.

Happy 4th Birthday, Laila

My great-granddaughter is 4 today!
When she was 1, I used a numbered digi from Beccy's Place for her card and again for her 2nd and 3rd birthdays.
Here is Laila's card using the 4th digi in Beccy's number series.

The die cut is from Die-Versions and the stamped sentiment is from Stampendous.

Spring Boot for Mojo Monday

For some reason my Mojo Monday card did not go together as easily as usual.  First, I couldn't find the digi images I printed yesterday to use today.  That will teach me to "tidy" up!  After uncovering the images, I used markers to color them, followed by my normal fussy cutting of the second copy for popping purposes.   Deciding the flowers could use a bit of sparkle, I picked up the Wink of Stella pen and started applying it.  I didn't understand why it was turning my pink flowers orange until I realized I was using gold instead of clear.  It actually took almost 3 hours to make this card because I had issues with the flowers and the velum die cuts and the ribbon.....

Digi image is Spring Boot from Bugaboo Stamps.

Flowers at the bottom are from the same image, just sized differently.

Challenges:
Artistic Inspirations Challenge #177- Add some ribbon or lace
QKR Stampede Challenge #239 - Anything Goes w/ optional flowers

Catch the Bug April Bingo Challenge -  I used the first column: die, bugaboo image, ribbon.

As my great-granddaughter climbed onto the bunny's lap at the mall on Saturday, I snapped this picture.

Sure is an improvement over this one
At least the bunny isn't quite as creepy!

Thanks for stopping by!

She's 3 + SU Card Class 2/14/17

It's so hard to believe that
my great granddaughter will soon be...

This darling number digi is from Beccy's Place.
Each year I play in the
November Month of Holiday Cards Challenge
at Beccy's Place finishing my Christmas cards and hoping to win one of the free digi prizes at the same time.
And every year, since our little Laila was born, I select a new number to make Laila's birthday card.  You can see her 1st birthday card here and her 2nd card is here.
(The quilted numbered digis can be purchased as a set.  I love Becci's digis.
And now she has clear stamps, too!  You go, girl!  Keep 'em coming!)

I am submitting this card to the following Challenges:
Beccy's Place February Challenge - Anything Goes with a BP image
Ooh-la-la Challenge #222 - Die Cuts (These dies are from ODBD.)
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #182 - Add Some Texture

Crafty Sentiments Challenge - Favorite Combo (embossing + patterned paper)
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge Week of Feb 14th - Anything Goes

I haven't posted a picture of Laila lately, have I?nd
Here's one of us working on a project at her day care's Grandparents Day Open House.

Before I close this post, I'd like to show you the cards I made this morning at a Stampin' Up class taught by Jan Hoyt.

We used the Misti stamp positioner on this last card.  I had never used one before.  I liked it.  But... you have to be careful not to bump your paper if you are restamping or it gets a bit fuzzy like my right border.  (Not to worry!  I did some fiddling when I got home and it's all better now!)

 Lunchtime!
Anyone for a tuna salad sandwich?

Thank You Card Set

My DH and I started off our day with a visit to our great granddaughter's child care center for Grandparents' Day.
Here's a photo I took this morning of our little, Laila who will be 3 in February.
I'm sure most of us would love to have her eyelashes!

This afternoon was another of Joyce's CTMH card classes.
On the way home I stopped for some groceries, broke 2 fingernails handling the 25 lb turkey I purchased, and ran another errand before getting back home.  I'll have to wait until the sun returns tomorrow to take and post pictures of the
4 lovely Christmas cards we made.

In the meantime, here is a
set of monochrome cards I made using a rather old and retired CTMH stamp set.

Challenges:
The Crazy Challenge #235 - Thank you is the magic word.
Come and Get It Challenge - Use ribbon or twine
Pile It On Challenge #121 - Thankful/Thank you

Happy Birthday, Laila!

Today my great-granddaughter turns 2!  Last year I used the Quilted One & Bear digi image from Beccy's Place Digital Store for Laila's card.  And this year I've used the pre-colored Quilted Two & Bunny digi image for her card.
I pieced bits of matching card stock together for the background and used a quilt block pattern embossing folder.
The sentiment was computer generated.

Jo's Scrap Shack FFC #126 - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge #149 - Cute + Sentiment

Nana - This is NOT a mouse!

Instead of catching an extra hour of sleep with the start of Daylight Savings Time, I used my extra hour to craft.  The first thing I did was to tear apart the card I made yesterday for the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #166.  I just did not like it!  This is what I finally created for the challenge.
Yes, that is a paint strip from the hardware store.  I'd like to paint my front door and shutters that dark green color.

The close up of the turkey shows the gold glimmer mist sprayed on it.

This turkey is my favorite CTMH Thanksgiving stamp.

Additional Challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #148 - Anything Goes w/optional Host/Hostess Thank You

***********
Today starts the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.  Day #1's challenge is to create a card using colored pencils.
Once again, the stamps are CTMH.
Additional Challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge - v for very cute

You might be wondering about the title of today's blog post.
My great-granddaughter paid me a visit yesterday.  Unfortunately, I did not have the foresight to clean off the kitchen table, where my laptop sits, before her arrival.

Mouse on a Broom by Gerda Steiner Designs

This card, for the September Challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs, features an adorable Mouse on a Broom digi, which I received free because I entered last month's challenge.  It makes a perfect card for my daughter-in-law's Halloween birthday.

Here's a close up of the little witch.

I colored her hat and cape with purple Wink of Stella glitter.  I hope you can see it.

Additional challenges I am entering....
Aud Sentiments Challenge Week 140 - Anything Goes with a sentiment
As You Like It Challenge - Favorite Die and Why (The scalloped oval die by Spellbinders is the first one I purchased and is my 'go to' die.  It is very versatile and I get a great cut every time.)
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #329 - Add some bling
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Anything Goes no topping
Whimsy Stamps Challenge #86 - Anything Goes or Halloween
Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #223 - Fun with Puns (Witch instead of Which)

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge # 126- Orange you glad it's autumn?
Scrapy Land Challenge #26 - Any image + die (I've used Spellbinders scalloped ovals.)

My apologies for the rather short blog posts this week.  I have been watching my 18 month old great-granddaughter, Laila, in the afternoons.  My, what a busy little one she is!  It's hard to get a photo of her cuteness....

until after our walk when she is quite asleep!

The little darling will be here before I know it so I'd best get a few things done.  Have a great day!

From the Heart August Challenge

Just as I was finishing up my card for the August From the Heart Challenge, I heard a knock at the door.  My granddaughter, Gaby, and 17 month old great-granddaughter, Laila, stopped by for a visit.  What fun to bring out the puzzles with the little knobs on the pieces, the bus with the little people inside, and the Elmo sectional plate and baby utensils.  And after I post this card, I'll be getting out the mop and bucket to unsticky my kitchen floor.  Who invented those juice boxes that no child can resist squeezing?  Bad idea!

The free digital set for this month's challenge is Candy Cane for Snowman.  I also used glitter, some flocking, black liquid pearls, baker's twine, satin ribbon and my recently discovered Promarkers to make this cute Christmas card.
Additional challenges I am entering...
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - use ribbon, twine and/or lace
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes 4 Kids
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Spots or Stripes
Inkspirational Challenge #89 - Word Prompt:Melt
Crafting by Designs Challenge - Get Ready for Christmas
Fantastic Tuesday Challenge # 99 - Anything Goes with Glitter
Sparkle n Sprinkle August Challenge - Anything goes with Glitter, Flocking, and/or Embossing Powder

While Laila was enjoying her juice box, we did get her to stand still and say "cheese".  She is getting so big!

Vintage Bunny Paper

Paper addictions are a real problem.  I know.  I have one.  I just love all the designer papers available and have a hard time resisting purchasing more.  But because I have oodles of paper already, I usually try to talk myself out of adding to my stash.  This vintage bunny paper really caught my eye.  I didn't buy it the first time I saw it.  Rather, I made an extra trip back to the store to buy it.  I'm certainly glad that I did.  Now I wish I had bought more than 1 sheet.
Easter egg, pussy willow branches and sentiment stamps are all CTMH.  Glitter tape and bling, too.

This card has been submitted to the following:
Crafty Catz Challenge #273 - Anything Goes
Dream Factory Challenge #18 - Chicken Run or Easter Bunny
Tinker-Dream Challenge #27 - Easter
Crafter's Cafe Challenge #110 - Easter
Crafting by Designs April Challenge - Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #101 - Bunnies
Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge #145 - Use Your Favorite Embellishments (Gems)

Speaking of bunnies....
Would you sit on this bunny's lap?  Could they find a creepier bunny?

My great-granddaughter certainly wasn't thrilled with the experience!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge & CTMH Card Class 3/10

Oh, to be one again!

We had an exhausting day, yesterday, celebrating my granddaughter's birthday.  Not that we did all that much.  It's more like we ate way too much!  But that's what always seems to happen when you go to a buffet.
I don't know why my granddaughter never brings Laila's stroller along when we have an outing.  She's getting way too heavy to carry for very long.  She's not going to fit in a shopping cart much longer, either!
Check out the pink glitter shoes on that babe!

By the time I got home the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #98 for this week had been posted.  With CTMH dottie paper still on the table from making my Mojo Monday card, I got to work creating this card

which I'm entering in the AHSC
I am also entering it in these other challenges:
Craft Your Passion Challenge #252 - Always Anything Goes
Cards in Envy Challenge - Anything Goes with a Bow
Eureka Stamps Challenge #131 - Anything Goes

This afternoon I went to Joyce's CTMH card workshop.  Today we made  4 cards featuring the current Stamp of the Month set.  It's hard to believe it's been almost 3 months since I've seen most of my creative gal pals.  It was wonderful to see them again.
These are the cards I made:

If you like blog hops and are looking for some great ideas,
Joyce sponsor's a monthly CTMH Blog Hop which you can find right HERE.  And if you are looking for more ideas using the
CTMH March Stamp of the Month, check out this blog hop or this blog hop.  And I even found a CTMH paper blog hop using the hopscotch paper.  So you can hop until you drop.
