Tuesday Morning Sketches #580

 Tuesday Morning Sketches
Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for

Here's the sketch for this week and my card.

I really like this digital image from TLC Creations.  The Give Thanks sentiment is a cricut cut from the CTMH Artiste Cartridge and the oval cuts were made using Spellbinders Candlewick Oval dies.

I hope you'll play along at
this week.
The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.

Turkey card for MFT Color Challenge

This is turkey card #3.  For this one I've used my favorite turkey stamp.  It's from CTMH and has a matching cricut cut on the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

The colors I've used are from the MFT Color Challenge #152.  The dies I used for the squares and the decorative link border are all from My Favorite Things.

I colored white pearls with a marker to make them orange.  I rarely buy colored pearls or gems anymore.  It's too easy to color them and know they will match.

Challenges I am entering today:  The Artsy Stamper Challenge #26 - Halloween Colors; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - AG; Krafty Chicks Challenge #531 - AG; Polkadoodles Challenge Wk 44 - AG; Aud Sentiments Challenge #253 - AG with a sentiment; My Favorite Things Color Challenge #154 -

 Pinspirational Challenge #274 -

.

The sun just came out.

Looks like the rest of the day will be nicer than the last couple.

Hope you have a nice one!

Thanks for visiting.

Combining Stash Items

Ever since I first saw the Paper Sweeties October Inspiration Challenge, I knew I wanted to play.  And for 3 weeks now I have been mulling it over in my head, looking at the inspiration photo and colors again and again, and collecting items from my stash to combine for a card.  Then I saw this week's My Favorite Things Sketch and the pieces started to fit.
Tag die cut is from Paper Sweeties; sentiment stamp is CTMH

Autumn Jar

It's mid-November and we're well into autumn.  I finally worked my way all around the house, clearing flower beds of annuals, removing bulbs that would freeze, and trimming dead flowers from perennials.   (Yesterday we got our first bit of snow and now those same beds are all white.)  With Thanksgiving just 2 short weeks away, it's time to use this Bugaboo digi image, Autumn Jar.
Truthfully, I forgot I had this image and accidentally came across it when looking for the Jar Digi I used for yesterday's card.

I added a simple, give thanks, to the card with a CTMH stamp.
The image was hand colored with markers, die cut and encircled by a bit of faux stitching.

I am entering this card in the following:
Dream It Up Challenge - Thankful and Thoughtful
Milk Coffee Challenge - Hand Color Image
Sassy Studio Designs Challenge - It's Beginning to Look Like Fall
Digi Stamps 4 Joy Challenge #104 - Preparing for the Holidays/Fall

Now this is a conglomeration!

Check out all the things I removed from my messy crafting table, just by making this one card:
  • 1 piece of glossy cardbase.
  • 1 strip of card stock  8x2.5 (cut in half and pieced in the middle)
  • 1 piece of burlap I had previously cut but decided not to use
  • 1 piece of glossy paper that I had stamped with multiple stamp pads, spritzed with water, blotted and let dry hoping I could use it for something else but it didn't look right.  So I die cut a leaf out of it for future use and used the negative after mounting it on
  • 1 leftover piece of orange CS which turned out to be the perfect size to mat the negative
  • 1 piece of text weight kraft on which I stamped the CTMH turkey with Versa Mark and embossed it with SNS antiquities EP that I got out to use on yesterday's card
  • 1 already punched kraft paper circle, also stamped first the design in ink and then the sentiment with VM and heat embossed.
My tidying up is moving right along!

I may get back to tidying after entering this card in a few challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe 194 - My Style (is to use everything and anything at hand)
QKR Stampede Challenge # 105 - Fall Colors
Simply Create Too Challenge #70 - Fall/Autumn
Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - All Creatures Big and Small (turkey)
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #86 - Colors of Autumn

Fall Thanks Wreath

At the York Show in October, I purchased a pack of this Crinkles Cardstock  in various colors.  It has a very unique feel and fabulous texture to it.  The stamps are CTMH.  First I stamped the bare wreath  and sentiment in cocoa, then inked the circle of leaves stamp in several colors before stamping on the circle, and added the bow in barn red.  I distressed the circle first in sunny yellow, then olive green and lightly around the edge in barn red, picking up the colors I used on the wreath.  The card is edged in bard red.

I'll be entering this card in these great challenges:
City Crafter Challenge #186 - Decorate It!

The Missing Piece from Yesterday's Card

(Stamps are by Close to My Heart)

As promised, today's card uses the scalloped oval which was die cut from yesterday's card to create a frame for the turkey.   (Yes, this is a turkey - not a peacock as some might think.... Donna!)

I'm headed for Edison, NJ tomorrow for the Stamp Scrap Art Tour Rubber Stamping Show and still have a lot to get done.
But first this turkey is headed for the following challenges:
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #64 - Autumn Colors

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #104 - Anything Goes
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Autumn (Spellbinders scalloped oval + Darice EF on gold CS; SU EF on flowered DP)

I'm hoping to see some of you this week-end.  I'll be doing Make & Takes at the Close to My Heart Booth, SCAT show, Edison, NJ.   Please stop by and say HI!!
