Easter Chicks

Bird (or butterfly) is the word for the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge this week.

I am entering this card in these challenges, also.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone.
Hope you are all hopping from the Easter Bunny's sugary treats!
I will be happy when all the Easter candy has been removed from the store displays.  I have a really hard time resisting, especially when it comes to peanut butter eggs.

I made this simple Easter card for the current House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge -   # HMFMC141 *Easter*
I didn't have an Easter HM stamp.  So I took the HM stamp where he is holding a wedge of cheese tied with a ribbon and substituted a big pink Easter egg.  Works for me.
The large EASTER stamp is from CTMH and the smaller words are Paper Smooches stamps.

I'm also entering this card in the
Outlawz Paper a la Mode - April 5th - Anything Goes Challenge
Dilly Beans Challenge - Easter

Stampin with the Dragon Challenge - Easter

CAS Happy Birthday

I really like the card  for the this Muse Challenge # 10  week.  It's a great CAS card, with a row of stamping and a simple Happy Birthday overtop.
I switched it up a bit and put the row of stamping at the bottom of a white panel with the sentiment front and center and mounted on a solid colored card base:

I think I bought this card base at the first stamping show I attended after starting to make cards several years ago.  Since I've been trying to get a bit more organized, I have uncovered quite a few items I forgot I even had.  It's about time I used some of them.

Besides the Muse Challenge, I'll be entering this card in:
Outlawz CAS Sunday Challenge  - The card base is the old item from my stash.
Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #53 - Over the Pastel Rainbow
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Happy Birthday

Quick post

Made a real simple card this morning for the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge The verse is a digital stamp by Doodle Pantry.  The bird and butterfly are Close to My Heart stamps.  And the circular bling is a MS I found at a discount store.

Will also quickly enter this in the
Flutterby Wednesday Challenge - #233 - use blue, green and yellow + a butterfly or fairy.
Dutch Dare Card Challenges - CAS

Something different

This is NOT

a Spring Card!

The inside of the card reads 'You are such a great pair!"

Just couldn't go another day....

without making a card.  Even though my craft table looks like a dining room table right now, the supplies and paper were calling to me this morning.  So I made 2 quick cards and put everything away again.  I was ok with that.  But I just opened a package the mail lady just delivered, and it contained new papers and ribbons I ordered from Paper Secrets, a prize I had won in a challenge.  I guess I'll put it away for now.   But it's gonna be hard!

I'll share one of the cards with you today and save the other for later, since I have another card scheduled to be posted later today.

I followed the sketch for Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge:

Other challenges to which I am submitting this card include:

Penny Black Easter Hat

Instead of Easter lilies, this year I am enjoying Easter poinsettias.
All this goofy winter weather in March seems to have my poinsettias confused.  They aren't exactly spring flowers.

This card is a bit more Springy.

I got my Inkspiration for this card from the Inkspirational Challenge Blog

I also made this card for the following challenges:
Penny Black March Saturday Challenge - Spring into Spring
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 261 - Easter Parade
Simply Create Too - Easter (or Bunnies)
Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 152
Addicted to CAS #9- Code Word: Spring

Snowy Mojo Monday

We woke up to an early spring "wonderland" ?  and it's still snowing.  I shoveled out to the paper and there's a half inch of slop under the snow.  Yuck!  I told my DH we should go out and build a giant rabbit in the front yard.  His reponse was, "Go for it!"  not let's go for it.  So I came in and made my Mojo Monday card instead.

Here is the Mojo Monday 286 sketch I was following:

I also followed the color scheme from Dynamic Duos #45 - Monochromatic Pinks

I'm also entering this card in the
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes Challenge

Last week for Easter cards

I won February's Sketch Challenge at Outlawz and received this adorable digi image from Angie Delaire in Australia along with several other cute digis.  I thought it was only fitting to use it for the current Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

 Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

I used the color combo from Dynamic Duos,
but I couldn't resist adding some bright colors to those Easter eggs.    Since their challenge is monochromatic pink I'll have to make another card to enter there.

I will, however, enter it in these challenges:
Digi Design Challenge Blog - Easter/Spring
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes
Digi Haven's Easter Challenge
In the Pink - Spring/Easter
Digital Tuesday - Challenge #202 - Easter

House Mouse

I fell in love with this House Mouse Stamp quite a while ago and I finally found it.

This card is being entered in the

House Mouse Challenge #HMFMC140 - Ribbons & Pearls

Timeless Tuesday #212 - Bring on Spring

The Ribbon Carousel Challenge RCC78 - Spring is in the Air

Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - First Signs of Spring

Muse Challenge # 9  (I just love that aqua blue!)

Hummingbird card

I started collecting things with hummingbirds almost 20 years ago when I visited my friend in Yuma, we took 2 days and drove to San Diego, and I found a ceramic hummingbird wind chime in one of the shops.  The colors matched my living room so perfectly, I bought it and had it shipped back to PA.  It still hangs in my living room, although a couple of birds have lost the tips of their beaks by now.

Thanks to Sandi Huggett, one of the digis for the current Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge is this hummingbird and flower.

I used butterflies and the sketch from Flutterby Wednesdays Challenge # 232.  I am also entering the card in  The Perfect Sentiment which requires a fairy or butterfly  for Challenge PSC71.

I used lots of pink so I could enter this card in the In The Pink Challenge #17 - Spring/Easter in Pink
and the Link up for Pink Challenge #11.  The yellow gingham strips at top and bottom also makes the card eligible for Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge # 119 Gingham and/or Checks.

Triple Play

I am playing 3 challenges with this card.

(I used my favorite embossing folder and my Cuttlebug to give texture to the yellow background)

and
Cards in Envy Theme Challenge - Paper Strips instead of Ribbon

Busy Birds

Yesterday was the first day of Spring.  Rita's always gives out free water ice on the first day of Spring.  It certainly wasn't a water ice kind of day in PA.  We had more snow on the ground again this morning.  It's gone now, but it certainly wasn't necessary.

I keep telling myself it is time to start my spring cleaning instead of all this card making.  Time to get busy and clean our 'nests' while the birds are busy making new nests.   It won't be long before you hear the incessant cheeping of the baby birds wanting to be fed. Every time I see those pesty baby robins following their mother around wanting to be fed, I am glad I'm not a bird!

Oh- there goes the timer.  I set it so I wouldn't get so carried away with my blog that I forgot to get the meatloaf made for dinner.  Be back shortly.

I'm back.  Well anyway, all that spring stuff was leading up to this card.

I followed the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches # 190

but moved things to the right so you could see the bird on the DP bringing a worm to her baby birds.
I'll also be entering this card in the following:
Sparkles Monthly Challenges Blog # 42 - Birds
Stamping Sensations March Challenge - The Great Outdoors
Shop Our Stash Challenge #94 Easter or Spring
Twisted Tuesday Challenges - 2TC46 - Banners and Pearls

Thursday with a 3D Twist

Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge last week included a 3D Twist.  No problem, I thought.  I'll  just make an origami butterfly.  First I tried a Swallowtail butterfly.  My paper was too heavy and the directions were very confusing.  Next I tried a tutorial for a Mariposa del Rio.  The paper was still a little too heavy and tore when I tried to make some of the tiny folds invert.  Finally I tried a video for a Lovely Butterfly and used some freebie flowered paper from the inside of one of my magazines.  I think it worked out just right.  It only took about an hour or so.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge.   SSS202 - Sketch with a Spin.

The Spin is Springtime and this is the sketch.

I also used the colors from Fab Friday 14.

Get Well Susie!

I thought I'd make this little pup
To send to Sue to cheer her up.

This little fella is a digi image by Michelle Perkett, Buddy the Christmas Pup(If you visit her blog, she often posts a freebie.  Her current freebie is a delightful tulip.  Thanks, Michelle. )  I  made Buddy a dapper little jacket for Easter instead of his winter sweater.

I used this sketch

from Sketchy Friday #11 as a blueprint for the card
and will also enter it in the
Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge - Layer it Up
and
Stamping Dragon Challenge - It's a Dog's Life

Before you go, check out this photo I took this morning of a red tail hawk sitting in one of the trees behind our house.

CTMH Card Class 3/19

We made 4 more lovely cards using the CTMH Stamp of the Month for March, which is only available until March 31st.

I think almost everyone at class has ordered this set.  Although, there was some discussion as to whether the flower was a rose or a peony.  Whichever, it is very pretty.  Click here if you'd like to order it, too.

Below are the 4 cards we made (basically).  Joyce is always great about giving us artistic license.  We sometimes need to shift things around to cover up minor goofs, change the sentiment for personal needs, or just plain do our own thing.

We missed Susie, Gail, and Barbara at class today.  Thinking of you all and hoping to see you back in class soon.
And we are all sending special get well thoughts and prayers in Hannah's direction.

Ahhhhh.... There's nothing like .....

the scent of just baked Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies.  Just now I'm lovin' my spot, here at the kitchen table.  In an hour I'll be at the hairdresser's breathing perm fumes. My mother's getting the perm.  I stopped getting perms years ago and let my hair grow so I could ponytail it when my husband and I went for motorcycle rides.  The bike was sold last year.  I miss the bike, but not the smelly perms!  I always take my hairdresser a treat - hence the just baked Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies.

My first task of the day was, of course, my Mojo Monday Challenge 285 card.

Here is this week's sketch:

I combined it with last Tuesday's Outlawz Color Challenge:

I am also entering this card in these challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge 1, 2, 3  -  ( 1 ribbon/bow; 2 sunflowers, one popped on top of the other; and 3 embossed gold panels)
Anything Goes Challenge  - #88 Seeing Double (double sunflowers, double brads, double gold corners)

Too busy to stamp????

I can't believe I've been too busy to stamp the last few days.  I was helping Joyce set up and man her CTMH booth.  Yesterday I also went to a stamping show and a huge craft festival.
One of the highlights of the stamping show was finding some Smooches Stamps!  They are so cute and make great CAS cards.  Here's a birthday card I quickly made this morning.

I followed the sketch
at SPARKS Paper Smooches Challenge Blog so I could enter this in their March 11-17 Designer Drafts Challenge.

I will also enter this card in these challenges:
