Got Lace?

Then why not join the current challenge Add Lace (sponsored by The Ribbon Resource) at Tuesday Throwdown?  Here's a Mother's Day card using some of the Ribbon Resource 2.5" elastic lace lavender ribbon; embossed background paper; die cuts; a punched circle; a stamped CTMH sentiment; and a saying cut from a sheet of Graphic 45 paper.
I always like the colors purple and yellow together, especially at this time of year.  They remind me of hyacinths and daffodils.
I could have used this card for the

24 hr Blog Hop since I glued the card front on the base backwards
I managed to fix that boo boo, thanks to UnDo.
But, I have another boo boo ready for tomorrow's post.
If you are a fellow boob or boobooer, you might want to join the April Fool's Day fun at djcardcreations

For now, I am entering this card in these challenges:
As You Like It Challenge - Bingo (lace, purple, die cuts)  These are 3 of my favorite things.

Southern Girls Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafting for all Seasons Challenge #123 - Die Cuts and Punches
Deep Ocean Challenge # 125- Fave Color Combo (Purple and yellow together  remind me of hyacinths and daffodils.)

Time to go.........
Come back tomorrow to see my booboo.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #287 - Add Lace

When I received The Ribbon Resource lace samples from Emily, our hard working sponsorship coordinator at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge (3 cheers for Emily), I couldn't wait to get started on my project for this challenge.
Using 1.5 inch Turquoise Lace Ribbon
I made a quadruple bow as the focal point of this
Mother's Day card.

This view shows the little butterfly charm attached to the tag.  You might even be able to see the tiny butterfly embossing in the card base.  The tag is a Paper Sweeties die; dp paper is from KC & Co; sentiment on punched circle is a CTMH stamp.

A little bit of info about our sponsor The Ribbon Resource....

May Arts was founded in the early 1980’s in Riverside, Connecticut.
The original products were high-end silk flowers, which were
decorated using quality ribbons.
The decorative ribbons proved so popular among customers that the business became solely a ribbon wholesaler.
May Arts soon developed a reputation among businesses in
the United States and abroad as the supplier for superior quality
ribbon that was on-trend, reliable, and delivered fast.
As a key player in the Gift, Craft, and Hobby industries,
May Arts decided to open a retail site under the brand
The Ribbon Resource in 2014. The Ribbon Resource is the
official retail channel of May Arts Ribbon.

When I went to the store to get a direct link to the Turquoise Lace Ribbon I used, I first searched just the Blue category.  There were over 200 choices in that color alone.  If you need ribbon, this is definitely the place to go!
Make sure you pop over to see the gorgeous projects made by Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Team B using the beautiful lace samples our sponsor generously supplied us.
Then grab some lace and enter this week's
Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Happy Easter!

Cup Bunny, a digi image from Sami Stamps, looks like she got carried away with her egg dyeing.

Actually, she overslept Easter morning and missed church!
Oh, that's right...the bunny didn't oversleep, yours truly did!
I only wish I could hide under my tea cup!
FYI: The yellow background paper is from a box of tea bags;
Velum pieces are CTMH;
stamped background was made with Newton's Nook stamps before embossing.

This is my last Easter card.
Next on my card making agenda -
Mother's Day cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids,
which are due by April 15th.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Working on a bigger canvas....

.... than my normal A2 cards, I thoroughly enjoyed attending Dawne's birthday party at Painting with a Twist today.  Dawne recently had one of those birthdays with a zero in the number.  They had a family party earlier, but today was a Dawne's special day.  Ten of us joined her for a painting party earlier today.  Dawne got to choose an image, from hundreds of samples, that we would all be painting.  We donned our aprons, picked an easel, and an instructor walked us through painting our masterpieces.
Here's mine....

My grandson just loves going to this place, and had his 8th birthday party here.

Back to working on images that fit on a card....
This penguin with an Easter Egg belly is a Great Impressions stamp that I came across in my stash while looking for the sentiment for yesterday's card.   I couldn't put him back in the stamp box without making a card first.
(sentiment is a CTMH stamp)

Bugbugaboo Bunny

For some reason, I was up early this morning.  So I sat down and did a bit of coloring until my DH got up.

I just couldn't resist this Bugbugaboo Bunny from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.   I thought I had a "Some bunny loves you" sentiment stamp somewhere.  Found it!  Only one problem .. I also found a few more Easter stamps I just love.  Guess I'll be making a couple more Easter cards, but they'll get  tucked away for Send a Smile 4 Kids Easter 2017.

This bunny will be hopping into the following challehges:
Catch the Bug March Challenge - Bingo (bird, bling, sentiment)
Crafting by Designs Challenge - 3 or more layers

I forgot I had this die!

While looking through my dies, I came across this pretty oval die, a freebie from one of my magazines last year.
Here's a close up of the die cut.  I covered a piece of white cs with double sided adhesive tape.  I placed the die cut on top and cut the white cs to match.  Then I sprinkled it with glitter and burnished the glitter, with my finger, into all the little holes left by the die.
The papers came from my box of scraps; the sentiment is CTMH; the skittles are from Double Click; and the turquoise shimmer trim under the punched borders is by CTMH.

Challenges:
Double Click Challenge #44 - use a bunny, baskets,  or an egg
Sparkle n Sprinkle March Challenge - Anything  Goes with glitter, flock, or embossing powder
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Happy Easter (I used the cuttlebug to cut the egg)

Anyone feel like helping me decorate 6 dozen Easter cookies?
They are getting a quick sugar glaze and sprinkles.  As long as they have sprinkles, the kids will love them!

All finished!

Sending Esther off with a Mojo Card

One of the gals from my Red Hat Society group, the Royal Scarlet Flock, is moving out of state.  She'll be missed.  This Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #440 card is for her.

The chick is an Inky Antics stamp and the sentiment is a From the Heart stamp, a magazine freebie.  All the pieces are from my Red Hat scrap box.  I have a whole variety of scrap boxes.  The rose velum and white cs under it were cut with La La Land stitched circle dies.  And it wouldn't be a proper Red Hat card without some bling and a few feathers, embossed on the white background and as embellishments.
I am submitting this card to the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #168 - Anything Goes w/ option Use a Bird
Come and Get It Challenge - Add Stitching (stitched circle die cut)
The Ribbon Girls March Challenge - Any Image (white grosgrain ribbon up the center)
Catch the Bug Challenge - March Bingo (diagonally:  bird, bling, sentiment)

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #105 - Use Ribbon (white grosgrain ribbon up the center)

That's it for today.  Lots on my agenda.

Easter Card for a Boy

The digi images from A Day for Daisies are always so lovely.  This one, which was a freebie, is great for a little boy.  Of course, with a change of colors, it's just as suitable for a girl.

Colored pencils and Promarkers were used to color the image and add the faux stitching.   The bunny wings have a coating of Wink of Stella clear glitter, but it doesn't show in the photo.  The background is made of 3 scraps from the old scrap box, glued together and embossed.  That's a CTMH sentiment stamp.  After a bit of searching, I found that cute bunny brad from The Eyelet Outlet in my stash.  And I used 2 Spellbinders nesting dies to cut the scalloped ovals.

Challenges:
Come and Get It Challenge - Add Stitching

Hold on for a cute Birthday Card

I just love the little mouse holding on to the airplane wing in this cute digi from Imagine That! digis by Kris.  It's from the set Airplanes (I used the colored version) and there are Take Flight coordinating papers available.
Right now, Imagine That! is celebrating it's 3rd birthday with some great new releases, challenges and freebies you won't want to miss.
Congrats, Kris!  I love your digis!
These are the challenges I am entering today:
Note to self:  Look for an embossing folder with clouds.  I can't believe I don't have one!

This ladybug smells.

Ladybugs don't normally smell.  This one, however, was colored with a raspberry scented crayola marker.  Hence, it smells.  I don't even know the origin of that marker, or how it got in my craft stuff, but it was there, I used it and the ladybug smells.
The rest of this Bugaboo digi stamp was colored with normal, unsmelly markers, with the exception of the bear.  He was colored with pencils blended with Gamsol.  The sentiment frame and words are CTMH stamps.

By the way,
Happy St, Patrick's Day!

We had a quick moving storm pass through earlier today followed by bright sunshine and a gorgeous double rainbow.
How fitting for St. Patrick's Day and confusing for the leprechauns.

Today, I am entering these challenges:
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #146 - Green as main color with ribbon
Creatalicious Challenge #87 - St. Patrick's Day or use Green
Digi Stamps 4 Joy Challenge #122 - Anything Goes w/ twist: add an animal
Open-minded Crafting Fun Challenge #3 - Luck/St. Patrick's Day

Favors for Mother's Day Lunch ???? + CTMH Class 3/15/16

Today the Splitcoast Stampers Weekly Inkling featured a Slatted Basket with tutorial.  I got to thinking that if I sized it down it could make a nice favor for my annual Mother's Day Lunch.  Using only 1 piece of CTMH 12x12 double sided paper, I made this cute 2" square basket.

I really like how the slats on the side bow.  That's what initially caught my eye.  Splitcoast's Weekly Inkling really knows how to push my buttons and send me right for paper, glue, scissors, etc.

With a small 4x5.25 piece of pink scrap from my newly organized (thanks to my grandson) scrap box, I was also able to make these two cards from the remains of the same 12x12 sheet of paper.

And, I still have these pieces left.

Not much, but I'll use them for something!

Oh my, I just took a chocolate chip cake out of the oven and does it smell wonderful.  It's definitely worth the quick trip to the store when I realized I didn't have enough flour and everything else was already in the mixing bowl. (Don't you hate when that happens!)

Back to my blog post...

I am entering the slatted basket in these challenges:
Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #63 - Show Me the Green
Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes, Stash Item: Patterned Paper over a year old

Well, now my dinner needs attention.  The limas just boiled over, so I have a cooktop to clean.  And I want to make a bit of gravy.  TTFN my friends.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge # - Circle Card

Round and Round is this week's theme for Tuesday Throwdown Challenge # 285.  That means we are looking for circle cards.  Our fabulous sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine Stamps, who generously supplied TT Design Team B with a variety of images to use.  I chose beautiful Emily - English Rose Melancholy Moppet.

Heather Valentin, designer of Lacy Sunshine Stamps,
has a wonderful collection digital stamps.  You must wander over and meet Eleanor and Pickles, all the Melancholy Moppets,

Rory and the Sweet Urchins, The Boos, The Buggmee's, Sticky Wings, Stitches and so many more.  Also available on the site are links to the Blog, Lacy Sunshine Crafting Magazine, HV's Online Art Classes and Lacy Sunshine on FB.  The Lacy Sunshine Blog has bi-weekly challenges, featuring very talented designers who supply recipes for coloring the images they've used.
In fact, I'm going to enter this card in the current Lacy Sunshine March 6th Anything Goes Challenge.
I hope you'll take some time and visit Lacy Sunshine Stamps, the Lacy Sunshine Blog, and Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog.  My teammates have created fabulous circle cards to get your creativity rolling.  We can't wait to see your entries and visit your blogs.  The winner will be receiving their choice of Lacy Sunshine Images.

For my card I used the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge to cut the circle card base.  I sized my digi image and used a La La Land stitched circle die to cut it and also cut a smaller stitched circle in blue.  The butterfly die, separated into 2 pieces on the card, was a freebie from recent craft magazine.  I used Spellbinders beaded circle dies for the yellow dp circles and a circle punch for the white circle.  The Lacy Sunshine digi image was colored with pencils and blended with gamsol.  The overskirt also has a layer of CTMH fine prisma color glitter.  The stamped sentiment, silver butterfly puffie, and clear gems are all CTMH products.
Finally, the assembled card (and my left hand) got a fine spray of Frost Shimmer Spritz.

I am submitting this card to these additional challenges:
Sparkle n Sprinkle March Challenge -  Anything Goes with Glitter, EP, or Flock
Crazy 4 Challenges #347 - Circles and/or Pies
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Lots of Layers

Birthday Bash - Imagine That!

Congratulations to  Imagine That! digis by Kris on her 3rd Birthday.  Stop over and have a piece of cake.  If the cake's all gone, you can still collect a cute freebie image.  You'll find the details there.
I've used one of Kris' cute digis to create this birthday card to help  celebrate. This digi set is called Cowboy Cactus Planter, but also has images and sentiments for Cowgirls.   I used the colored version.

The glossy black patterned background doesn't show up well in the photo, so here's a closeup.
This card is will be posted on the Birthday Bash page at the Imagine That! Creative Playground.

I think I have just enough time to bake a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies before dinner goes in the oven.
I'll be back later to add the other challenges I am entering.

Monday Makes

This morning I made two cards using sketches from my two favorite sketch challenges, Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

First ... my entry for AHSC#151
using CTMH papers and stamp, embossed in white.

And second... a boy's birthday card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #439, using a House Mouse stamp and misc. papers from my scrap boxes.

I am also entering this birthday card in the following challenges:
Penny Black March Challenge - Feature a Creature
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Boys to Men
As You Like It Challenge - Favorite Style of Embossing and Why (Dry Embossing is definitely my favorite.  It isn't messy; it's hard to make mistakes; I never burn my fingers; there's no sticky stamp to clean; and I like the dimension.)
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Birthday w/ optional topping The Great Divide

Have an awesome day!

Locking Gate Fold

This locking gate fold card features the same digi image from Bugaboo stamps that I used for yesterday's card, Mom Flower Trio, only dissected, just a bit, to create the locking feature with the word Mother's and images for both front panels.  Lots of colorful layers to match the flowers, a tiny baker's twine bow, some CTMH shimmer trim across the bottom, and a few skittles from Double Click combine for this cheerful Mother's Day card.

Challenges for today.....
Catch the Bug Challenge - Bright and Cherry
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Mum's Day/Special Female
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Lots of Layers
Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes; Stash- Patterned Paper older than 1 year (I found the paper for the card above in my box of  pp scraps.)

Speaking of scraps....
My feverish grandson couldn't go to school and spent Thursday and Friday here.  Friday, when he was starting to feel a bit better, he asked me what he could do.  I gave him my box of colored scraps to organize.
Check it out!!!

I'm thinking of renting him out.
