Tuesday Catch Up

Sunday was my granddaughter's birthday.  She requested a trip to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for a birthday lunch yesterday.   Leaving in the morning and returning just before dinner, I spent the day with my mother, daughter, granddaughter and 3 week old great-granddaughter.  Five generations together.  A celebration in itself.  An amazing blessing.  But incredibly exhausting.

I started my card for Mojo Monday before leaving, but didn't get back to it until this morning.

(Stamps used are from CTMH)

I am entering this card in the following:
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #9 - Anything Goes/Favorite Colors (blue/yellow)
Die Cut Divas March Challenge - Let's Emboss It
LEJ Designs March Challenge - Favorite Die Cuts (Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals were the first die cuts I purchased and are definitely my favorites.)

Layers - and I'm not talking chickens

I am busy, busy, busy making Mother's Day cards.  My cousin put in a request for some to sell at her little store on the farm.  I really like this type of layered image and it's relatively easy to do.  The image and sentiment are both from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thank you, Sandi, for the can of lace!

The other day I had lunch with a former book club pal and she brought me a bag of crafty things she didn't want.  In the bag was a tin container with a variety of old ribbons and lace.  It wasn't long before a piece of the lace found its way onto this card.  Then I had to get out the sewing machine because the card just screamed for stitching.  (I had a tag blanket I wanted to make for little Laila, so I got that done at the same time.)  I used a bunch of leftover freebie paper to make the banners and strips. The stamps for the green circle and sentiment are CTMH.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Jo's Scrap Shack Fun Friday Challenge # 40 - Anything Goes
Polkadoodle Challenge #10 - Mum's the Word
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #249 - Mother's Day/Female

Southern Girls Challenge - Swinging in the Breeze
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #321 - Use 3-2-1 of something  (I used one piece of lace, 2 rows of straight stitching, and 3 different dp (2 of each) for the banners.)

Tent Card vs. Tent Topper Card

The challenge at Tuesday Throwdown this week is to make a Tent Topper Card.  I hope all of you have made one and entered the challenge.  If not, what are you waiting for?

Here is an example of a Tent Topper Card.

It's basically a top fold card with something sticking out over the fold.
The card base is 41/4" square and the scalloped oval extends 1 1/4" above the fold.
It will fit in a normal A2 size envelope. How easy is that?
So why haven't you made one for Tuesday Throwdown's current challenge?
Last week I was teasing Tuesday Throwdown's Team A because the theme was Anything Goes and there were so many entries, which meant they had so many comments to leave.  This week is Team B's turn (I'm on team B.) and so far I haven't had to leave one comment.   Of course, if there aren't many submissions the chances of your winning the free digis from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps are so much greater.  I'd love to see one of my Followers win.

The card above uses a digi image, Autumn's Kite, from Sweet n Sassy stamps and From the Heart's digi sentiment from the Hamlet Pigwit Think Spring set.
If I could, I would enter this into Tuesday Throwdown's Current Challenge - Tent Topper Card.
But I can't because I'm on the DT.
So I am entering it into these challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge #84 - Make it Sparkle I used glitter paper and a gem over the "i".
Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge #166 - Spots and Stripes
The Stamping Boutique Challenge #7 - Make Your Sentiment POP
Crafting For All Seasons Challenge #72 - Spring into Spring

While working on my DT post for Tuesday Throwdown, I came across a tutorial for a Tent Card.  This is different from the Tent Topper and I had never made one.  Well, I have now......

The little bird image is by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.
Die cuts  are  beaded circles  by Spellbinders.
I'll be entering this in the following challenges:
Crafting for the Craic March Challenge - Something with Green
Craftitude Challenge #60 - Anything Goes or Add Green
Fussy and Fancy Challenge #109 - Birthdays
JellyPark Challenge - Things with Wings
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #184 - Shaped Card
DRS Challenge #112 - For the Birds
Crafty Creations Challenge #258 - Happy Birthday
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #167 - Anything but Square

Now remember....
Ends 3/10

Thought I'd do a 2nd Mojo

Yes, I did my Mojo Monday card on Monday as usual.  It had a wee Irish piggy on it.  But it is the first Mojo of the month, and I've been doing this challenge for over a year and I'd so love to win a set of Verve stamps.  If I have time, I might even do a 3rd.

I wanted to use this paper pack for my first Mojo card.  I looked all over for it.  I had just made some cards with it.  It was not in the mess on my craft table; couldn't find it in the paper box; wasn't in the stack of paper on the floor;  not in the drawer with the CS;  it was missing.  So I gave up looking and used different papers.  Then yesterday, I put my hand on the top of one of the living room chairs while I rummaged in a drawer for some ribbon (my stuff is kind of everywhere) and there it was... on the back of the chair.  Now who put it there?  Go figure?

The stamps I used are from Sparkle N Sprinkle, as is the glitter.  The frames were cut with a Provocraft die on my Cuttlebug.  I used a dotted swiss embossing folder for the background.  I love embossing DP.   And I just hand cut the banner.

I am entering this in:
Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge # 335

Sparkle N Sprinkle March Challenge - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge #101 - Any Sentiment for a Girl
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #79 - Anything goes with ribbon
In the Pink Challenge #39 - Mother's Day Card / for a Special Lady
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #249 - Mother's Day/Female

So when I got finished making this card, I got to work cleaning up the scraps in my usual way.....
And I know just what I'm going to make with this!!!   Check back to find out.

Good day for something hot!

It's pretty darn cold in SE Pennsylvania this morning, a good day for something hot.
And I just made a batch of cookies that will certainly hit the spot!

(inside sentiment)
This was a quick and easy card to make using Close to My Heart stamps and inks.
The designer paper came from my stash, as well as the corner dazzles.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #36 - Anything Goes + option: distressing
The Crazy Challenge #166 - Coffee & Sweets
Scribble N Scrap Challenge #13 - Always Anything Goes
2 Sisters Challenge #174 - Black, White + 1 other color (purple)

Gotta run.
This afternoon I play pinochle.  And I need another cup of tea before I go so I'm wide awake.  Last month the girls beat the guys in all 3 games!!!!  They'll be looking for revenge today.

Spring Flowers

This flower image was a recent  freebie from A Day For Daisies.   I started out iris folding the center clover.  Then I decided to cut out the other flowers using an exacto knife and added patterned paper underneath the white CS on which the image was printed.  I cut a second tulip and popped it for more dimension.  I punched a circle in coordinating paper and stamped the sentiment using a CTMH stamp.  I punched borders for the top and bottom, added the bow and bling.
(Here is a closeup of the iris folding.)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies Challenge #90 - Add Green
Card Mania Challenge #41 - Use a Sentiment
