Saying Good-bye to Deedee's Wonderful Digis

In case you haven't heard, Deedee's Digis is closing at the end of the month.  I will miss her wonderful digital designs and playing in her monthly progressive challenge.  But, I will continue to enjoy the file full of her creations that I have collected to date.  I just might grab a few more while they are on sale at 75% off.  You might want to check out her shop, yourself!
The card I am posting today features a digi set called Birdie's Snow Day.  I've used the precolored image and made a gate fold card.

The ribbon is secured on the back of the card with an additional snowflake die cut.

CAS cards

I had planned to post this yesterday, but I waited too long to take my photos and just didn't have good enough light .  This morning's light is much, much better.

Included with this month's issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine was a nice set of stamps and embossing folders.  I really wanted both to take center stage on my card, so I decided to keep it CAS.  At first I was only going to add red to the berries and bow.  Then I gave in and gave the bird a bit of color, too.  The gold foil tape (CTMH product) helps to highlight the embossing at the bottom.

Tuesday we had our CTMH card class Christmas party at Joyce's.  What yummy food, creative exchange gifts, good time, and friendships to cherish!
We only had time to make this one card....

As an extra gift to the girls in our class I will not be posting the picture of our merry group wearing the gift I gave them on their heads!

Running behind on my Mojo Monday post

It's certainly a shame that "running" behind doesn't burn any calories!  I spent yesterday working on a Christmas project and didn't even turn on my laptop.  I did, however, make a Mojo Monday card for my sister-in-law's birthday tomorrow.

My stamping paraphernalia (wow! I spelled that correctly. No squiggly red line underneath!) is still stashed away.  But, I did manage to pull out a Crazy Bird stamp, an AI birthday cake stamp, a TE Happy Birthday stamp, a CTMH letter set, and enough bits and pieces to cut balloons and a party hat using the CTMH Artistry and Artiste Cricut Cartridges.

This is my entry for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #426 -

No time for more, today.  December is such a wicked month.

Do What You Love - Day #30

What I love, when making cards, is finding a new fold.  Recently, I found a tutorial for a twisted card, which makes a great gift card holder for Christmas giving.  I also love fussy cutting and paper piecing.  And, I have totally loved making all 30 of the cards for Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards.

This card is totally made with CTMH papers, stamps, and Artistry cricut cartridge for the Day # 30, Do What You Love, Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.

From the moment I first saw this stamp....

....I knew exactly how I would use it on a card.  So when I won one of the many prizes Beccy is so generously giving away during the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place, I selected the  Poinsettia Set as my prize.  First chance I got, I opened the digi file, resized  and flipped the poinsettia swag image and printed it so it cascaded down the side of a card.  I fussy cut the edge, decorated the inside of the card and added a simple sentiment to the front.  Doesn't it make a beautiful one layer card?  Just as I pictured it.

This is my entry for Day # 29, Something New at Beccy;s Place Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.
BTW, the red inside paper is also new, a freebie from a magazine.  The front sentiment stamp was also a magazine freebie.  And the inside stamp is from SNS.

Waterfall Card for Day #28

When I went to my very first stamping show, about 7 years ago, I was fascinated by the flip stamps at Repeat Impressions designed specifically for waterfall cards.  Since my mother collects nativity scenes, I purchased the stamp I am using today to share with her.  Not only is it one of my oldest stamps, but I think this is the first time I've used it.  So why did I use it today?  Because the theme at Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards Challenge is to Use Something Old for Day #28.

Just Because....

it's the day after Thanksgiving, doesn't mean I won't be entering a card in Day #27 (Non-traditional colours) of Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.  Just because I carried all the stuff I usually have on my dining room table upstairs so there would be room for stuffing instead, doesn't mean I can't go up and bring a bit back down.  And just because I now have a table full of clean china and silver waiting to be put away,

doesn't mean I couldn't find a little bit of time and space to make this card:

I found these 2 small pieces of DP in a bag of scraps from Christmas Past.  This is why I don't throw even the tiniest pieces away.  You never know when they will be just the ones you need.  I distressed all the edges and mounted them on scraps of deep purple CS.  The stamps on the front sentiment panel are CTMH, stamped in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation.   The snowflake swirls on the inside are also CTMH, but the sentiments are from SNS.  The ribbon, which ties this gate fold card shut, wraps around the back and right front of the card, covered with a piece of the CS to help secure it.  And, finally, I added a few purple gems.

Additional challenges:
Fairy Tale Challenge #131 - Christmas without Red or Green
