Beccy's Place Day #10

Normally, I would post the cards I made yesterday at Joyce's CTMH class today.   But, it is such a dark, dreary, rainy day I am going to wait until tomorrow to get better photos.  Besides, you'll want to stop back tomorrow anyway to check out the cards in the Joyful Stars Close To My Heart November Blog Hop.

************

Moving on to the card I made for Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards Day #10.....
Today's theme is polka dots.  The most difficult part of the challenge was choosing which polka dot paper to use.  I have all sizes and colors in my stash.  After choosing the plaid bg paper, then embossing it with dots,  I decided on a matching sheet of tiny green polka dot paper.
How do you like Tippy's Santa Hat.  He borrowed it from a snowman on my CTMH Artistry Cricut cartridge.  Tippy is one of  digital images in Beccy's Place Online Store.  I chose to use the colored version.
Additional Challenges:

Beccy's Place Day #9

In her Mirror, Mirror Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards post, Beccy mentions what a treat mirror card is when embossed.  I totally agree.
The trouble with mirror card is photographing it!  No matter which way I positioned this card, it reflected something I didn't want it to reflect.  Anyone have any tips?
The digital image is one of Beccy's, colored with Promarkers and gold Wink of Stella.

Beccy's Place Day #8

News Flash:  I made this card without any mishaps!

But, let me tell you what happened to me yesterday....
After a lovely and yummy lunch with family and friends followed by some shopping, my mother and I headed home.  We stopped and got drinks for on the way.  As I was driving, I reached down to the cup holder, picked up my drink and proceeded to anoint my car, myself, and my mother with a large cup of sweet tea!  Apparently, as I placed the styrofoam cup in the cup holder I somehow punctured it close to the bottom.  The cup holder was overflowing with tea.  And there was no way to stop the tea from leaking out.
By the time I was able to pull off the road, all the liquid down to the puncture had escaped.  What a sticky mess!

Back to my card for Day #8 of Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards Challenge, where participants are to use just part of an image.  I've used just a portion of a colored poinsettia from Beccy's Place Poinsettia Digi Set.
I added a bit of shading to the precolored digi and some gold Wink of Stella to the berries.
Hope you saw Beccy's
shading tutorial a few days ago!
The simple sentiment is a CTMH stamp.

Now, I have a sticky car to clean before going to Joyce's card class this afternoon.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #319 with Craft Online Classes

This week's theme at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is
All About The Words.
The words need to be the focal point of your creation.
I immediately reached for a subway art stamp from CTMH.

Sponsoring the challenge this week is Craft Classes Online
The challenge winner this week receives a free seat in one of their classes.  The class list is available on the web site.  You can even try a sample lesson.  All classes are self paced and the instructors are available to answer your questions.
Try taking a class with a friend, like I did.  It's fun to compare notes and you can keep each other on track.

CCO also has a fun blog,  Everyday Moodlings , where they offer ideas, tips, tutorials and crafty inspiration.

I hope you get a chance to join this week's

Morning After Mojo Monday

We turned the clocks back an hour early Sunday morning, which gave us an extra hour sleep.  What a wonderful birthday present for me!  Today I am feeling well rested and ready to go.  I have a group of family and friends meeting me at Shady Maple Smorgasbord for lunch.  Yum!  But, first, here is my Mojo Monday card.
Stamps are CTMH.

Beccy's Place Day #7

Can you guess the theme for Day #7 at Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards?
If you guessed buttons, you are correct.
I don't often add them to cards because they don't get along too well with the postal machines.  But these wood buttons should be fine.

Great Impressions Guest Design Spot #1

Today is my birthday!!!
and
I was invited to be the November Guest Designer for
How cool is that?
(The GD spot, not the birthday.  I have one of those every year.)

GIS generously sent me some wonderful stamps to use on a few cards to share with you and inspire you.
Here's the first card I made, sort of a modified gate fold:

This adorable Pumpkin Puppy, a Great Impressions stamp (H259S), was stamped once on white cs and once on orange patterned paper, so I could fussy cut the pumpkin and paper piece it.   The leaves were stamped a second time on white scrap, fussy cut, colored and glittered  before being popping onto the framed picture.  The card design is a modified gate fold.  The framed image tucks under the wood embellishment to keep it closed.
There are 2 more frames underneath, one has a quote- Great Impressions Stamp #E550S,
and the second is for the sentiment.

There is a new Anything Goes November Challenge starting at the Great Impressions Blog

and some really great stamps in their online store.  I may have to buy myself a birthday gift or two.  I love that Peeking Chicken stamp in the What's New section.

Stop back later this month when I'll have another card featuring Great Impressions Stamps.
